Using gmail account on 2 phones

Ok so my wife and I both just got the MT4G. I have had the nexus for a long time so I have many purchased applications. She of course has her own account but wants to use some of the applications. How do I do this?
Do I have to add my account to her phone first? If I turn all sync off on my account on her phone does it still push my gmails?
Thanks for any info

There's a lot of ways to do this but I'll try to give you the most straight forward one.
1. Sign into and setup both accounts on your phones as you would normally
2. Sync and restore all the apps you downloaded on your account
3. Download the app "mybackup" from the market. The free version will let you use its services once and the paid version will let you do this an unlimited time so invest accordingly.
4. Use the in app menus to do a backup of your apps . It will do a backup of all your apps on your sd card and it'll name the file "restore" by default.
5. Swap your sd card out and put it in your wife's phone. Download the app mybackup on your wife's phone and do a restore through the in app menus. Done.
Hope that helps...

Forgive me if this sounds preachy, but these devs work really hard to make a little bit of money per app. My advice is to just buy them for her device, which is the right thing to do. I understand paying $200 twice for MS Office, but they are only charging on average $3-$5 for an app, and every little bit helps.

[Q] Stupid mistake when I set up my phone

If this has been answered a billion times, please forgive.... I did use Google and the forum search, I just didn't find anything pertinent.
First, I currently only have the free version of TiBU, but it has batch backup/restore functions. Is this an acceptable backup, or does the full version grab more?
Second, When I set up my phone, I used a Google apps account that, upon reflection, I may not always have. If I set up my next rom with my personal gmail account, and then restore my TiBU, will my paid apps transfer to the new account, and continue to update?
Thanks for all the help, and if there's another thread that answers my question, just link me and I'll exhibit my mad literacy skillz!
nope you will just have the app/s, nor will they update.
And Google hasn't opened a way to transfer purchases, have they?
Or even a way to sign in and out of market accounts..... I'd gladly just sign in with this account once a month to check for updates.

That is a good question, and I am not sure about it, but I don't believe so.
I guess that I'm just gonna have to hope that a ) I don't ever lose this google apps account or b ) If I do Google has come up with a way to transfer purchases.
Also, is the batch backup in the free version of TiBU the same as the one in the paid version?

I think the batch restore is different, in that the paid version will do multiple apps in one shot, whereas the free version allows you to restore only one at a time.
It's doesn't *limit* you to only one, it just makes you click on every app you want to restore individually, over and over until they're all restored.
In other words, pro does "unattended" one-click restores of multiple app backups.

This is correct with titanium backup. As far as your apps purchased, I would contact market support by opening the market and press menu - help and click on contact us.

Let me get this straight, if I buy the full version of TiBU, I won't have to 'accept' and 'done' every app when I restore a backup? If that's the case, it'll be well worth whatever they're asking. (I do understand that I'll need to restore my full version unlock as a standalone to have access to the unsupervised script).

Well, I only used the free version to restore apps once, a long time ago (I bought it early on), but from what I remember, and from what I understand you to be saying, you won't have to confirm then select the next app.
As far as restoring your pro to get the full features, you could do that one separately, or, just go to the market and install TiBU free, as you most likely would have to anyway after a new ROM flash, and then go to the pro key listing, and if you've purchased it, it'll say 'purchased', and you can just download the key again.
Just buy it. It's worth it, if for no other reason than to support the dev.

The free version allows a batch restore, but you have to confirm and then close each install like a regular market install. Anyway, next flash will see me spending the money for the full version.

Yes, what you just mentioned is exactly what the pro version eliminates.

DEAD TRIGGER-Money

Just some info because I'm hooked on this game......
You CAN get more money for Dead Trigger v1.5.2 using Gamecih...
But you'll have to downgrade to an earlier version for it to work...
I saved my game to the cloud and made a TiBu backup of the game then uninstalled...
Downloaded and installed v1.1.1...
Restored my game through the cloud
Used Gamecih to Boost money
BackedUp game to cloud again...
Uninstalled and Restored TiBu backup of version 1.5.2...
Then Restored through the cloud again and VOILA!!!
Loads of money to buy weapons and items...
I didn't post detailed instructions or links because I'm not sure if it is allowed since it is a hack...but I do have all of the files needed and will upload if it is allowed...Let me know or just search for the apk and youtube video
Works for gold as well

[Q] Basic Q - where are paid apps stored + backup

As a new Android user with the samsung I have just downloaded and paid for my first App from the Play Store.
How do I back it up in case I need to restore it in the future?
Where is the app stored? I downloaded Sketchbook Pro but when I look in the folder that has been created there are no files!
Uset Titanium Backup for data. Play remembers that you purchased The app, so it probably even restores itself if you eg reset your device.

No need to backup, really. Play Store will have it for you when you reset your device so you can install it again and on as many devices as you want as long as they use your email address.
If you are root. go to /system/ app/ this is where they usually are . Some apps use your personal media space to share data.. like in .. /sdcard/android/???? somtimes this is a folder called obb.. Sometimes the /sdcard could be / data/ sorry i do not yet have this tablet but looking forword to getting it . As soon as i get my refund for the two nexus 7 defective devices i sent back..
What about apps like Plague inc. which have in app purchases?

As long as you purchase from Google play and use the same email account, Google will remember the in-app purchases too. I purchased an app that had an in-app option which i also bought, installed the same app on two devices i.e.tablet and phone and had no issues including the in-app aspect.
App backup and restore works fine for me, just backing up the app but not the data.
Aside from the fact that your purchases are tied to your Google account as they said, you can use AirDroid (which is really really handy) to pull APK files from your device and make back-up copies on your PC. Just don't, you know, distribute them.

I use ES Taskmanager and ES Exlorer to backup and access my apps. It allows you to select where you want to save your backups and it gets all the apps I have tried including purchased apps like Sketchbook Pro. Then I like to copy the backed up apps and store them elsewhere for safe keeping in case for some reason that app gets dropped from where I got it or it is replaced with a version I don't like. BTW you don't need to know where the app is ES Taskmanager will find them. Note some apps when you find where they are they are listed with odd names like "vnz-1111881564.apk" for Kindle reader so knowing where they are does not really help all the time but ES Taskmanager shows the name you will recognize.

Best app for backup of apps, desktop, etc

I buy and sell phones to try the new stuff and previously had been strictly with iOS. I'm just now getting in the game with Android again, and was wondering what app is most similar to an iCloud or iTunes backup?
I see some things on the internet, but they are a little dated. It looks like Helium back-up is a good choice?
My contacts are all stored with Google or Microsoft Exchange at work, my photos are stored with Google or Dropbox. Text messages I don't care too much about, nor call history.
I just want the hundred or so apps that I have downloaded to download again and also to be placed on the home page in the same folder that I had before.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.

titanium is the best for rooted devices, however it does not arrange icons in folders like you mentioned
I have never had a problem with titanium imo it's the best

I don't see any other option even closer to Titanium.
You need to learn about titanium how and what to do and what not to do.
I have some app +contacts +messages carry forwarded since samsung galaxy s (my first Android) to Note 1- 2-3-4 and currently on N5
See here a message I received on 2011 and still now on my device
