System apps in tibu - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Recently when I've tried to install systam apps through tibu (like apex Google+ and Google books) it seems to freeze there. As in it keeps saying restoring for much longer than normal and after like 5 min I just give up and quit the app. I have yet to be able to install these apps. Running clean rom 2.4. And was happening with clean rom de 2.2

[Q] How to auto-download and install all ur apps after flashing (without Titanium)?

Hi.
Ok, so check this out. Every time I flash a new ROM, I need to go into the MARKET and install all my apps (i don't use many, so it's not that time-consuming).
One day, I installed this GO LAUNCHER. When I flashed my rom again, in some magical way, all my apps were downloaded and installed (NOT restored, but re-installed fresh).
I do not know how the Go Launcher did this, since this happens before I even to to the market and install it after a fresh rom. Magic!
In any case, this stopped happening for some reason when I did my last flash (Weapon).
My question is - is there an APP that does this?
Again, i do NOT wish to RESTORE my apps. I wish for the MARKET to download all the apps was using (FRESH install them).
Is there a way to do this without GO Launcher?
Thanks
Whats supposed to happen is that Android is supposed to automatically download and reinstall your apps. The problem is that it doesn't always work. In fact, it has never worked correctly. Its really a hit or miss.
I think the reason is because everytime you do a fresh install of Android, it includes an old version (usually 2 or 3 versions back) of the Android Market. So the first thing it does is upgrade Market and I believe that is where it messes up with the restoring of apps.
ICS has supposedly fixed this issue.

THANK YOU!!!
Best way I've found is to make a backup of whatever rom you are on with all your apps and do a selective restore for the Data only from cwm, should put everything back including your google account.
I've done it many times between roms and have had no noticeable issues, but I can't guarantee you won't.
I haven't checked with a fresh rom install but i believe titanium can now push the updated version of software into the rom.
Meaning on your list you would see two listings of gmail.. The old and then the updated. If you pushed them into the rom and did a nandroid i wonder if the newer version of the app stays.

[Q] Titanium backup when going to ICS

Hi everyone,
I was wondering, I'm currently running LeeDroid's SuperSensational V4.3.0 (With android 2.3.5). But I want to go to ICS (Darkforest ROM for example).
If I use titanium backup to restore the apps from this android 2.3.5 ROM (including data), in my new android 4.0.3 rom, will this cause a lot of FC issues, or is it a safe process?
I can't seem to find any details about it, so...any experiences?
I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't restore the apps through TB. I used File Expert to find my TB folder and restored them manually than used TB to restore my data for the apps. No force closes here...

Tb works fine aslong as you have the latest version, no fc but some older apps will be incompatible
Think the latest is 4.7.3 it was updated for ICS

As long as the app is compatible with ICS it'll work fine.
It won't matter that it was previously installed on Gingerbread.
You will almost certainly find the FC issues after restoring the user apps along with data. I havent personally found problem on restoring system apps but user apps sometimes cause FC problems. And on a separate note, you should move onto the DarkForest ROM. Best ICS ROM for me
Hi,
Just to update on the progress: I did flash DarkForest rom and ran a Titanium backup of all user app and some system data (only the stuff I found necessary, i don't use HTC mail and stuff so I didn't restore that).
So far the only app that seems to FC on me is the XDA app (kind of ironic xD). So if anybody's wondering: yes restoring titanium backup to ICS is safe

[Q] Titanium Backup Restore

I upgraded my MIUI rom to 2.2.17 and wanted to restore my apps using tb donate version. When I go to batch restore, a force close box pops up every time. I've already done a fresh wipe, fixed permissions, and installed busybox from the problems tab on tb, but none of them worked. Any solutions?
1. Is it a clean install of ROM?
2. Are you restoring only missing apps and data?

Is the root on for your MIUI...believe in the settings you have to turn it on, that would keep TB from working correctly.
I purchased the key via the market...best $$ spent, When ever I put a fresh ROM on, I install TB & key, and then reinstall my "apps only" not apps with data.
Titanium Backup
I plunked down the $$$ for the paid version. Never had any problems with the app.
I do know that when coming from a Froyo based Rom (or stock) to a GB based ROM you aren't supposed to restore apps and data. Just apps.
The one issue I've had with TB is that even though I restore all my apps, and they work fine, the apps are now disconnected from the Android market. Meaning the market no longer thinks I have them installed on my phone. Won't receive any updates when that is the case. I even tried the Market tools within the app. Those didn't resolve the issue.
I went from Stock Froyo to Infused 2.2.3 to Zeus v5. In both cases, I had to manually re-install my apps on the market. Not a huge deal, but an inconvenience.

There is an option is TiBu that allows you to attach the app to market. Try using it. It should solve your issue. It works for me for certain apps like dropbox and google voice that I don't want to upgrade. Turned it back on for google voice recently and it worked.
I could have swore that the op for miui said to never restore apps with tibu..could be wrong idk

Now that i think about it in qbking77 video tutorial he kinda made it out like you should should use other means of restoring...tibu last option and your right apps without data

One thing you can try - uninstall tibu (both paid & free) then reinstall in order - free, then key. I've had issues where app "keys" seem to get installed first and the app won't wort properly.

[Q] Deleted Google Play

Hey there. I have been trying to resolve the "Package File Invalid", so one of the things i read here on xda said uninstall updates for the android market. I did this, and it installed Google Play completely. I tried flashing a package with the google play market version 3.4.6, but it force closes as soon as I open it. Can anyone help me? :3
I'm not sure if applicable in your circumstance but whenever I start having issues with force closes I reboot into CWM and clear my cache & Dalvik (under advanced) then "goback" & check reset permissions & reboot PHONE .....NOT Reboot Recovery. So far, it's worked like a champ every time for me.
When does it say "Package File Invalid" ?
may Reboot Recovery
It said Package File Invalid when I was downloading Draw Something Free. But thats not the point, I deleted Google Play off my phone and need to know how to get it back.
The point is that the invalid signature error usually comes from either having a broken/warezed/older version already installed, or the download corrupting.
So the signature from the update/download doesn't match what is already installed or has just been downloaded.
Your problem now is that you probably just removed the market but not the other apps it depends on on.
So either restore exactly the market version you removed or flash a new version plus the matching versions of its dependencies.
I've tried flashing both version 3.4.7 and 3.4.6, and they both force close as soon as I open them. Can you show me how to make it work, or tell me how to get it from stop force closing?
I would suggest a nandroid backup and a complete factory reset.. chuck on a custom (up to date (ics) rom) while your at it

Thats the exact reason I haven't yet. I have installed a custom rom and stuff already
I too am having the issue with all apps after 260 apps installed. I noticed that when I uninstall one app I can install a app that had said "package file invalid" two minutes earlier. Its weird.

I have had this problem before, the cause for me was that I was using g a DNS changer. Uninstalled it and that fixed it for me.
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I don't have a DNS changer installed. I'm using MIJJZ Blend 2.3 and everthing before 260 installed fine, but now I have to uninstall a app to install a app.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Then the only other thing I can think of is clearing data/cache as per http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2011/12/fix-android-package-file-is-invalid.html
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I had tried that before. I've been bouncing between Darkstar 1.0.2 and Blend 2.*. I have experienced this issue on all Blend builds and never had the issue on Darkstar. Its weird the first time I had the "package file is invalid" error I was reinstalling my backedup apps. It happened ony on 3 apps(gosms, titanium backup, bunny shooter) and everything else installed fine. 2nd time gosms and titanium backup installed fine, but other apps wouldn't install. The funny thing about it is one of the first apps had the error, but I still installed 30+ apps after that. I've wied and reinstalled Blend 2.3 3 times and this last time I got every app reinstalled and even a few more before the error. I uninstalled one app and installed one app that had previously failed. So I tried uninstalling 3 big apps(angry birds trilligy) and still can't install a 588 kb app. I can't install a single app now. Debating on flashing stock kernel, but really don't want to loose cwm.

Noob question, how to get all apps back after flashing new rom?

When I wipe my phone to flash a new rom, It takes a while to download all my apps again.
How can I get them back quicker/easier?.
Thanks
Most people use Titanium Back up. It's fairly painless
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
So backup apps + data? Apps only?
Thanks man
Ps. When I click on backup all user apps, apparently I only have 3 apps? I clearly have a ton more than that. What gives?
I use Titanium to restore data on a few important apps like games and such, but I always download my apps fresh from the market every time. I use an app called App List Backup to keep track of what apps I had installed.
