Actually.. here In Philippines this phone is branded as My|Phone A818,
its A MT6573 with 512MB ROM and 256RAM
Dual SIM/Standby
Dual Cam
first.. i want to know if clockworkmod recovery works on this device.. or could i use recovery 2.x? well i want to have the stock recovery intact first before using clockworkmod recovery..
2nd.. i dont know how to go to fastboot on this device..
the onlything i can go to is the Recovery and Factory Test by holding V+,V- and then Power.

Kindly give us some info on this unit and how we can make use all of its features. the phone is quiet good, even though this unit has no GPS, 3G connection..
I also have this phone and i also want to know how to update install/backup rom if possible also root.

My Mom got this phone too, and I have no luck in rooting it, I found this blog and it has methods of rooting it, got my phone detected, but superoneclick and unlockroot doesnt work, can anyone give some advice.

I tried all rooting methods I found on the net, even update.zip from sdcard, unlockroot SOC, install and re-install of usb drivers but of no avail, I hope someone can do a real rooting tool for this mobile.

Yes Sir toxic I've tried and works well. I both my cellphone with V14 and same with your V17 it can't be rooted by SuperOneClick and Unlockroot. Now my cellphone is running V11 and I think works fine.
Just like Sir SuperGuko said : I will not take any responsibility on whatever may happen with your phone nag share lang po ako....
alright noted, so what really happens is firmware downgrade from v14 to v11 and the v11 firmware system.img is pre-rooted now by default after flashing it with the tools provided by Sir Gouku. we can now remove the bloatwares from the stock rom and mod that yucky status bar icons.
@Wolf09, I just extracted all the files from system.img, take a look at the screenshots, now modding can be done, will proceed when my schedule permits me.

Hello All,
I am very thankful to XDA as i got so many questions solved in here from past.
earlier i was using xperia mini pro. I had rooted, opened boot loader, changed ROM, kernel , finally i made a ftf backup in such a way that what ever the software problems MAY BE DEAD/HARD BRICK i use to flash set with ftf file and my tiny set is up.
I am happy that all these i have achieved because of XDA i am again thank full to XDA and all tecs helping here and the members who are raising good questions and new ideas.
Now i have purchased micromax a100 can any body help with the below things please

there is one issue which i met was;
when i started .bat file it asked me "please press any key to continue" and according to instruction i waited for mobile reboot and it never happened. finally i came to know that for first time we should not wait for reboot of mobile.:good::good::good:

i bought micromax a100 before 3 weeks and now it stopped working. it is not woking, just showing blank screen. i tried android recovery mode, but from there also not able to factory reset the phone. it gives me error system mounting failed. any idea how to make it working? i think device not able to find root partition.

For this reason only i am trying to find one or the other way in which we can directly flash MM a100 from computer without need of any root or some thing like that and it is possible only if,
1. need some flash tool (like SE flash tool for Soney Ericssion)
2. some procedure to extract entire firmware from mobile including the boot loader condition etc which can be directly written to chip.
but if you have not tried try the bellow link once it also may save your droid !!!!

Since I have the root level access I have modified a lot of stuff. Last night during some notification bar theme installation with Rom Tool Box Pro my phone got hanged. When i pulled out my battery is not booting, its stays idle in the black screen. Now i desperately need the stock ROM for my phone. I tried hard reset (factory reset), even that is not able to fix this.:crying:

Hi Aftab actually i typed a reply and gave submit, but i am unable to see that in thread as well as sent folder also, any way let me retype again,
I am happy, yes yes finally your idea of that pda net worked for my MMX A100 and I have installed the CWM, but one suggestion if any one is using this pda net method let them try with the version 2.xxx because i took latest version and sucked for 2.5 hours, and also i have installed pda net same version manually on mobile because system was unable to install it to my mobile
Also one more request if you have CM7 custom rom for MMX A100 please let me know because till today what ever i have used i found CM7 as comfortable and stable.
I am doing backup of my rom and i will inform you in next week about the behaver of phone after installing this CWM.

I searched mannually for the file which which contain the splash screen, but not able to get, if anyone knows that file then please do let me know.

HY,i cant help you about the ROM because i dont have your phone and dont know how you have rooted it(S-OF/S-ON),but about the kernell,witch i think will solve your problems,you can flash a recovery,and then wipe cache,dalvik,etc to clean your device,and then flash the SPECIAL kernell for your device,restart,and wait a few moments for it to accomodate .IF you want more details let me know!

Hi, Thanks for the response, I have rooted it with the help of UnlockRoot Pro (using a PC) and flashed recovery (found in Galaxy S Duos S7562 Droidiser Rooting Kit) with Odin through a pc, that's it i have done, now pls advice me if I only flash a Kernel with Odin is this enough for overclocking with SetCPU application or do I need to flash a custom ROM aswell, in both ways kindly advice me appropriate Kernel and if needed ROm for me. I hope you understand my problem I want to make my device faster anyway.. or suggest any other way so that I can meet my objective.

HY,installing kernells is a good way of making your device faster,and more reliable,but if you are rooted,you can overclock your device directly if th processor allows that,just head over to paly store and download rom toolbox,there you will find anything you ever wanted ,as for the roms thery are good options as well,you can see what roms are available for your device from an app called goo manager.I hope that I helped you.

I can't update anything because Model doesn't allow option "Software Update". It's invisible or removed by Brand itself.
I want to know is there any other to update it or any other compatible ROM for this Model????

ya you can flash a whole new rom onto it..but before that first check if it is SPECIFICALLY for your model.never ever flash a rom of any other device.otherwise you will get an expensive micromax branded brick.

check in system settings>about system[must be in the end]>system update or something...check there if available

You didn't make a backup of your stock ROM in recovery when you first installed it? I'm sure that whatever guides you read when you rooted and installed recovery gave instructions to backup stock before doing anything to your device. If you made a backup then just choose the "restore" option in recovery to restore your backup.
If you didn't make a backup then you'll have to flash your stock firmware via PC or find someone here that has a device like yours and ask them to make a backup that doesn't contain their personal infornation in recovery on their device, then have them upload a copy of that backup for you to download it, then put it on an extsdcard, put the sdcard in the device and restore the copy of the backup in recovery.

Flash stock firmware or restore someone else's backup
Or
Flash a custom ROM. This one is linked in the post above yours, I guess you didn't pay attention to that.

Actually it is not available for Android One. Developers need to port it to our phones.
I don't know why you're choosing Ubuntu in phone while Android can do much better stuffs.
