What browser do you use? HOX - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

What internet browser do you use on your One X, and why? I used stock ICS for about two weeks, using Chrome beta now and enjoying it.
I tried to put a wide variety of browsers I found in the play store, choose other and please tell us what you use and why.
Thanks

Thanks. Vote in the poll so we can easily see which browsers are most popular!

I've been going back and forth between Chrome Beta and Firefox Beta.

Chrome beta.

I still use and prefer Chrome beta over the Firefox beta due to the interface. Chrome just "feels" right. But the latest Firefox renders pages stupid fast. Chrome's not bad, but I really wish it was that fast.

Chrome feels different than the desktop version obviously, but I really like how they did the tabs. That's one thing that annoying me coming form an iPhone was having to go to a menu to open my tabs instead of a single button on the screen.
Hi fellow Iowan

I use Maxthon mobile. It's fast....

You can also swipe at the edge of the screen to change tabs.... Anyway, my problem with chrome right now is that its a little too laggy for what I was used to on my galaxy s ii so until that gets fixed ill be using dolphin HD, which runs very smooth for the most part.

Stock..
- great battery life
- renders more sites correctly from my bookmarks 100% stock vs 95% chrome
- Labs feature

What Browser?

Just throwing this out there to see which broswers everyone is using. I personally like the stock one. I used firefox for a little bit but since it was only still in beta it wasn't the greatest. Ie wouldn't format correctly with zoom and radio buttons and txt boxes wouldn't function properly. I haven't given dolphin a try or any other browser that might be out there. Let's see what your opinions are.........

I use FireFox just because of the FF sync with my laptop and desktop, but it sucks that I have to switch to the default to watch flash content.

+1 Miren!
10Char
depending on device, I use many:
Low end phone (huawei ascend on cm7) maxathon browser, renders pages astronomically faster than any other browser
Mid-end phone (htc hd2 -hyperdroid cm7) stock, kills miren/skyfire/maxathon/dolphin on my phone, easily. The flash integration is amazing in android's stock browser is more than enough to get the job done, completely content with my 6 second loading time for massive pages.
Tablets (transformer-stock 3.1 rom) I have no clue, the stock browser feels like the ipad in responsiveness and rendering (great thing) but occasionally "freaks out" and acts glitchy, have yet to experiment

Miren
.......
What is it about Miren that everyone likes? I installed it hoping to configure it differently than the stock browser for use with certain websites. I quickly found out it is just an overlay of the stock browser and the settings where the same for both. I did like the tabbed feature it added. Can someone tell me if Dolphin is the same, an overlay that uses the stock browser?

Try Dolphin HD. I have Miren and Dolphin but prefer Dolphin. Then again I don't have a problem with the stock one...
the stock one is fine by me....
Although I don't use....I believe Dolphin HD is prob. the best alternative
Firefox (which I am avid Firefox user) is HORRIBLE....well not horrible but horribly slow ATM.....I will wait til' they develop it more
I use stock........nothing seems worth it to trade for (although havn't tried Miren, so I will)
I kept going back to the stock one as well...

Then you haven't tried Miren. Seriously, I won't ever use stock again.
Instant forward and back, use volume keys or swipe direction to do so. That sold it for me.

Thanks for the notice. I've been on the FF beta and have been disappointed. Have found Chrome way better/faster.

have to admit, so far the ff is winning in my books. I'm posting this on this and it is fluid, not bouncing, flash works great so far. bookmark syncing isnt a deal breaker for me anymore since i hardly use my laptop sxcept for using adb or other flashing tools. rendered the xda main list in a fraction of the time and with way less stutter than most browsers. happy doaner!
I wish this came out six months ago as I'm using Chrome across all my devices.
only using for a few hours so far, but loving it on my one x

sync went as planned but im seeing alot of overlapped text and pictures on almost every site i normally visit.
It is VERY fast and pinch is very fast! Cant wait for full version!
you can move the screen around with 2 fingers
It's definitely a great improvement over what I remember FF being on my old phone. Looks very promising for being beta. I am definitely a Firefox guy though so I am a bit biased.
However, if I am being honest I would say so far Chrome seems to be much more optimized on the HOX. All the stylistic and design choices I've encountered so far seem to have been made with Android (ICS) in mind from the start.
With the FF browser the vibe I get is quite the opposite: that they wanted to have traditional FF on an Android device.
Haven't had a chance to really test things like speed/memory performance yet. Looking good though.
I agree with the OP, the new FF beta is fantastic. Kind of shockingly so.
Loading sites The Verge and Engadget it performs better than any mobile browser I've used and that includes Safari.
Definitely an improvement over the original FF, but if you want speed check out Quick ICS Browser. It's my default on both the HOX and GTab.

I know lots of people prefer ICS+ but It just keep messing up my usage. Just somehow, I don't like the way how it worked on infuse. The side selection menu is all the point.
I would recommend Chrome beta or the system browser. They are both pretty good.
The system browser has the side selection which is very convenient, even it's only five fixed selections it's enough. I like the way how you can switch between tabs in the system browser easily.
On the other hand, I noticed a speed advantage in Chrome beta. The tab sync function is excellent if you use Chrome on your computer. Totally "Cloud". Also the magnifier function when you click on some close links save you some time double tap to zoom in.
The others are gingerbread era browser. Probably among those I would recommend Opera mobile.
Just some personal suggestion
Dolphin HD is stable and ez to use

I must agree. I was using ICS browser plus... but after using Chrome beta.. I must say.. it is probably the best browser I have used.. It's great how it links to your home computer's tabs if you're using Chrome at home too.

Bookmark syncing is a welcome addition as well. Chrome ftw
I used to dislike chrome for android... but it now works very well. I vote chrome, it makes the browsing super snappy compared to the stock one which takes forever to load xda and such.

Same. It's a lot faster than the default browser and it is still in Beta and only available for ics roms. One of the things I like about it is that it syncs all of my bookmarks from my pc, which is a really cool feature. My vote is for Chrome as well.

Favorite browser?

Just wondering what everyone's opinion on browsers is. I'm using chrome right now cause I'm on aokp and wanted to try it but usually stick to the stock browser or maxthon. I've read good things about dolphin and a browser called uc.
So what do you use?
I've used several just to see what they're like but I always end up using the stock browser and uninstalling the others.

Boat browser works pretty good for me. Pretty fast as well.
Just read about privacy concerns with Dolphin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...Dolphin's collection of your browsing history
Supposedly fixed in version 7 but bothered me so I switched to Boat Browser which I like better. Customizable side bar, more start page speed dial spots, seems smoother, no random closes, etc. I'm a fan so far.

Am I the only one that thinks the stock htc browser is better than chrome?

I feel it is a lot smoother and more stable.

I really wanted to like Chrome just because I use Chrome as my desktop browser and liked the idea of it all synching up perfectly.
That never really worked out. Chrome for Android is pretty slow, and very buggy, for me.
Switched to Dolphin and never looked back. Just a fantastic browser.

I personally like Opera. Never been a big fan of stock browsers on Android or Apple devices. I dislike Chrome. Thought it stunk on computers but on the phone its dreadful. I was hoping Firefox would be useful as it's my favorite computer browser but again, fails on a phone.
Opera is very fast and simple. These are my opinions though.

Same here. LastPass integration was the critical feature for me. Otherwise I would be using ICS+. Chrome for Android is a big disappointment.

Currently using dolphin browsing over chrome :silly:
I have searched the forums but have not found an answer to the quick controls on the jb browser.
You know how you can set the quick controls trigger area on the quick ICS browser, I was wondering if there is a way to do the same on the jb browser. I have an otter box case and it makes it almost impossible to trigger quick controls without adjusting the trigger area.

aosp tabbed browser ftw. I just wish it would stop showing xda threads in faded grey and save my login info.
I use Chrome when I want to access my favorites or browser tabs on another device, otherwise I always use Dolphin.
It’s really depressing to me, because I love Chrome on the desktop. I don’t understand how a flagship product can be so bad
Dolphin for me.
Easiest to get to bookmarks with side swipe.
Every once in a while I go and try dolphin again, but I find the side swiping annoying, because I always end up activating it without meaning to
