[Help] "Battery Disconnected" and Battery Health Changes when plugged in. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Okay so I used Odin to install ICS using androidauthority's meathod
it had some bugs, one of which was the "Battery Disconnected" issue, but eventually I got them worked out and used it well for a day, the battery seemed fine.
Then I plugged it in at the end of the day and got the error again.
So I tried a new ROM (SKY ICS 4.2E), no luck, I used odin and went to ICS stock and no luck. I went to the ORIGINAL stock (2.3.5 i think) and although it doesn't say "Battery Disconnected" it says "Charging..." and then it stops charging.
I tried the dial code #*#*4636*#*# and when the phone was unplugged my batter health was "good" but the moment I plug in my phone, the battery life says "dead"
I took another battery (my father has a Skyrocket too) and the same problem happened.
I tested both batteries on his phone, both were good and both charge.
I had the battery indicator issue before this, and I had a lot of problems with non-stock chargers, but no matter what I used, I still had these problems.
Is my phone just defective and I need to check my warranty, or is there a fix to this?!

I have the same problem from today, Pls can anybody help us...

Here's how you fix this
To fix this issue try removing your battery and cleaning the contact points on your battery with either a damp cloth or preferably with a magic eraser. Do not use any cleaning chemicals, just clean water. Make sure the battery is dry before putting it back into your device.
This issue is caused by residue build up on the battery contact point interrupting the connection between the battery and the device.
I hope this works for you.

Just bought a skyrocket from Ebay. After 3 days this problem happened. Now it won't even charge anymore. Should i buy a new USB port or what part is defective? Phone does not charge other battery aswell.

I think this is related to fake batteries I had the same problem when upgrading from the stock ICS that came on my phone to the stock JB.
I tried all the battery cleaning and cleaning the USB port and never could fix the "Battery Disconnected" message.
Then someone noticed the batteries were different in another thread about this problem and some people think there are fake batteries out there that are not the Samsung OEM.
I bought this battery from Amazon and it fixed my problems and am now running CM 10.2 with no problems for over a week.

[Q] Battery does not charge

First of all; I've used search and found nothing that fitted my problem. I hope I didn't repeat a existing question.
My problem is this:
I have an european Galaxy S running on Darky's rom. Since a couple of days, I've been unable to charge the Galaxy through the USB port, a problem I never had in the past.
If plugged through the USB to a computer, the phone is properly detectd, and I can copy files into it without any problem. If I leave the cable plugged either there, a car adapter on my car, or a wall charger, the charging animation is on, but the battery drains slowly instead of charging.
What I've tried:
*tried different batteries
*updated to last Darky's rom (Slim no wipe)
*read about battery drain, recalibered battery; installing a fresh battery charged on an oem dock), wiping battery stats from CWM, leaving the phone on until battery slowly died
*full wipe, factory reset
*disable voodoo from cwm
*updated to last Darky's rom (full with wipe)
Nothing worked so far.
I have no clue of what is going on. I did nothing strange or new before this issue showed, at least as far as I remember. I'm running now swapping the depleted batteries out of the phone.
I hope somebody could help me.
Thank you.
If Darky broke it he should have the solution .
I would remove Darky rom and flash stock froyo .
jje
I have flashed an older rom, I9000XXJP1, just for testing, and the problem is still there.
Could it be a hardware issue?.
Yeah we got one like this @ work, brand new and faulty.
The symptoms on the first day :
- Doesn't charge via PC or external power source
- USB mass storage is fine
- Still warm after at least one hour on idle (wifi, gps and bt OFF)
=> warranty.
I suggest that you put back the original ROM before it dies by lack of power and use your warranty
I think that's what I will have to do. I'll flash some old stock rom and send it to service. Pity I didn't keep the original one from Movistar network.
I'll look for it somewhere.
Thank you.
One question, was the screen on when you were doing this? I've noticed that the chargers usually don't have enough current to power the screen, the phone, and charge the battery all at once.

Ns4g ics battery charge

I'm trying to figure out if this problem is just my phone or an actual issue. I just got this phone 2 days ago from craigslist after being with the evo for almost a year. As soon as I got it, I rooted it n tried flashing ics roms themed and original leaked update. On every rom I flashed, the phone wouldn't recognize the charger or usb or it would tell me its charging but it would take 6 hours to gain 6% more battery? I also tried turning the phone off to charge but that didn't work either. Anyone know anything about this n what I did wrong or didn't do?

I've had the exact same problem, i bought a NS4g from craigslist that wouldn't charge or turn on without a charger being plugged in. Long story short, i eventually got it back from Samsung with the warranty being voided due to water damage. So i opened it up and found some oxidation resudue and cleaned it off by scrapping it off. Luckily it worked!!. For you it might just be the battery since it actually says 6%, try to replace with another battery or place the battery in the freezer for 5 mins and try it again.
I flashed the unofficial leak rom again n it charges now but it doesn't say its charging on the lock screen or on the battery icon, but in the system info it says its charging? I have never ran into this type of issue before?

Exact Same Problem
I was given ICS 4.0.4 via OTA update by google... It worked fine for like 2 months then exactly the same problem arises with my Nexus S i9023 (unrooted).
1. It's doesn't indicate on the lock screen that it's charging nor it indicates on the battery icon, however it does tells me that the battery is charging when I check the battery in the settings. This issue exists on both wall chargers and usb cable.
2. It doesn't asks me to mount mass memory of my Nexus S and my windows 7 machine says it cannot recognize the device..
I strongly suspects it's a bug in the ICS...
I would appreciate any help that I can get on this issue... but to be honest I read many threads here and I can't understand half of what people are trying to say, so I request to keep things a bit simple because I know nothing about how to root or flash or doing any other super geeky stuff ...
thanks
Some people have had luck just cleaning the USB port with a dry toothbrush and a can of compressed air. Might just be dirt. Worth a shot.
thanks mate,
Yeah, tried cleaning it with a brush... still no luck..

Battery on Galaxy S2 wont' charge

So today I flashed to ICS trought ODIN. I forgot to a hard reset. It worked fine until the battery drained to 2% and tried to charge but without sucess. I tried multiple hard reset, removing battery charging in the cable, pc. I don't think the battery is the problem, cause the phone is farely new and previous to my flashing I had charged and it was working fine.
see if you can get your hands on a s2 from a buddy or something and see if your battery charges in the test s2, try isolating the problem to see if its your phone or the battery. I know you said it was working fine prior the flashing through ODIN but you never know, maybe the battery just decided to take a crap on you afterwards without flashing having nothing to do with it.
Unfortunately I can't think of anyone with a galaxy s2, maybe I can take to the local service and ask them to check if the problem is the battery or the phone. Hope they don't charge me for that.
they shouldnt, ask before anyways...or take the battery to your carrier's retail store and see if they can charge it up on one of their phones..
Ok a friend of a friend of mine will charge my battery if the battery is not damaged. OK, but if it's ok. What could the problem be? Maybe the ICS version is unstable. I don't like ICS anyway, cause I revert back to my previous fimware without usb jigg.
If it isn't the battery, I wouldn't know what the cause would be. I could be a specific ROM issue but I doubt it...have other people complained about the same issue? Like you said, just revert back to stock and flash another ROM if you'd like.
Maybe a far out there idea, but - buy standalone charger from eBay (it costs 3 USD with free shipping). And you will be able to charge your battery without phone
That's a great idea, but I figured the problem out for now at least. But can somebody tell how to flash to stock firmware and will I be needing USB jig?

HELP!!!! Fixing battery charging problem

Hello,
I went out last Friday and came home late. My phone is out of battery and dead. I plugged it in and woke up the next day with a dead phone. Apparently, there is a bug with the OPO. If the battery is too low, it won't even charge after you plug it in for charging. I have tried all tricks and even contact the OPO Tech Support Team. This thread describes how horrible they are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tech-support-onepluse-one-horrible-t3084022
I am at my wit's end. I have tried all the the tricks. This is a thread that I found that seems to have the same problem as I have.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/oneplusone-phone-dead-t3079256
The only choice I have left is to open the phone, disconnect the battery connection and reconnection it again. Hoping it will recharge. However, there is a warranty sticker and I don't want OPO to deny my warranty. I am not new to Android and I have fixed phones before. I also think of buying a new OPO battery and switch it with the factory one. Since the new battery will be charged, I think that will work in fixing it. But, doing that is much more complicate and it requires me to remove more components. If you have a good working solution for my problem, please help.
NOTE: please don't ask me to check my charger or use a different one. I check it 1000 times already. The original charger works, the cable works. I use different chargers and cables. Same result.
Thank you for your help.
Have you rooted and unlocked? I had the same problem when I got mine at first. It would show charging but never fully charge. 73% was all it would do. So after rooting and flashing a custom kernel the problem went away. Now I can go back to stock and the problem has never comeback. Maybe just a small software glitch or something. I'm just happy it's gone!

The phone is unlocked and rooted. The issue is not fully charged or not. The issue here is the phone does not charge after the battery die. The phone is dead because I let the battery run to 0. When I plug it to recharge, the low battery screen does not even come up. The phone is dead and refuse to recharge. There is no issue with the charger or the charging cable. I have checked it several time already. I am very frustrated with OPO Tech Support right now.
I see. Only other thing I can think of is try holding the power button for 60 seconds while it's plugged in. That does suck man.
I had similar issue, my conclusion is the bootloader charging function is broken.
Basically I would start the charging, it would charge for about 10 seconds or so, and then stop. I thought my battery was dead.
I couldnt boot the os as wasnt enough charge.
So eventually I just kept repeating the process, 10 seconds charge at a time, and eventually had enough juice to boot android and after that point it charged to full ok.
Never had this issue on any of my samsung phones.
Also to point out when it went dead it was plugged into my pc usb at the time with twrp loaded.

Phone not charging [need help ASAP]

My phone is not charging sometimes and when it is, it charges at about 1% every 15 minutes. I've tried many known working chargers and cables so rule that out. I switched custom ROMs because of this issue. and a few days in it began to happen again. What are some things that could be causing this?
Im desperate! really, it's only phone for communication. My last resort is back to stock but I really like my setup now and battery is amazing. Please help lol
If the same thing happens with several known working chargers and cables, then likely you have a hardware issue with the phone itself.
(On my first Nexus 5, the charging port came slightly loose and would only charge with the cable at a very specific angle. Got it replaced when it was still under warranty)
To be absolutely sure it's not the rom or kernel or some strange mod, make a nandroid backup, copy it to pc, then go fully back to stock. See if it charges properly.
Try out apps like Ampere etc which display the charging rate. Your battery might be dead or as mentioned in the above post
Just spent a whole day doing all that stuff, It's def the phone :'( It's absolutely heartbreaking since I don't have money to fix it......... Uuuuughh...
charging was wonky, been checking it constantly
