Milestone Overclock by tekahuna
Metamorph charging batt icons
NOTES
SPEEDYv7 NOTE: Sorry to say, but it killed gps and logcat abilities (a must have for devs), also did not put cpu01 online as intended – so I removed those few lines from the main script, and now everything is working in harmony. Big thanks to 0vermind for the great scripts that he chooses to share!
GPS NOTE: Please see HERE, HERE, HERE, and http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ to adjust yours for your region, if you choose to do so - I left mine as installed and it works great when needed.
UPDATE 6/22/12: A deodexed twin brother, which will naturally be named Remus, was born late this night. Though he does not possess the innate overclocking abilities like his big brother (or Maps and Voice Search - could not deodex properly - download from the Play Store), and takes a bit longer to boot up, he is leaner and has other qualities (like being much easier to mod smali code).
EXTRAS
Recovery on Boot Removal/Re-install
Milestone Overclock install and instructions
Disable/Remove overclocker
HOW-TO Re-odex (create a new .odex file)
Romulus v1.0 and related extras (only ODEXED rom & mods here)

***Wipe cache & dalvik, install from sdcard through recovery***

Outstanding. You saved me some time. I've been farting around with a build like this.
Going on vacation next week slowed that down.
Anyone running the Milestone overclock stuff ?
I have the Supercharger running, I've been leery about the overclock. My phone definitely did not like the 1200 setting for rdavist's Supercharged V5. Never could dl the 1122 mhx fix so started building my own.
Thanks for your work !

Very nice. Looks great. Will be flashing in a while.

what's the battery life of this rom? Is it like stock or better/worse?

Hahaa.. thanks guys.
But when ics comes out, i'll drop this in a heartbeat

Battery should be pretty close to stock. There are a few build.prop edits which may drain a little more (like the max events per sec tweak) and some that may save a bit of battery (like the wifi scan interval)

This is just so awesome! I'm oozing with excitement! I'm flashing as soon as I'm home.

Looks and runs great, thanks for the ROM! Now back on AT&T let's get some Cheesecake!

Thanks for trying it out. And thanks for your help..
Definitely will be a cheesecake binge around here though
And after I figured out that it was just the one freakin defaults.xml that it changed (that was one major thing holding this project back - no connection to moto server), I'm not gonna be hesitant to have cheesecake installed, switching servers, and checking like crazy..

Appreciate the rom runs smoothly and looks great. Is there a way to remove some of those battery sucking tweaks?
Ics will be so great for our battery life.

I must agree with the previous comments. This Rom is great. Thanks you guys for all your hard work. It is most certainly appreciated.

Why can't we get better battery life on modded ROMs than was with the stock gb?

Some due to overclocked cpu, some due to speed/ram tweaks/init.d tweaks. Some due to both.
I could take any of my roms and replicate stock battery life if i wanted to but then i will lose performance/responsiveness
The more noticeable battery drainer is the overclocked cpu.if you want better battery but slightly slower/less responsive phone..underclock it back to stock 1000GHz (if the rom is overclocked)

rdavisct is totally right, it is possible on custom, just not so desired... that's partially why I left those out of this build - so anyone can put on whatever tweaks/scripts, etc. that they want - battery life or performance? - your choice, but you gotta do the work...
But, you could also re-edit your build.prop for minor battery saving tweaks (search around for those) and/or you can undervolt with Milestone Overclock (see link in post#2). Once you get the hang of MO, it's really simple to play with the speeds and voltages with terminal emulator and find the best that work for you - then you can edit the system/etc/init.d/00opptimize file to get it to stick on boot.

This rom is very smooth and stable. You evidently put a lot of time into it. Thanks for sharing this.

oooo good point. since this is Beta i would like everyone who tests it for me to do a nandroid then full wipe, but you should be good to flash over Z3
NANDROID first
Smooth rom!!
Few things I've noticed.
1-battery % increment are by 20's
2-right launcher button, earth, which I thought was internet is Add button
3-GPS locks in really fast!!
Thanks again!
It does look nice and is definitely feature packed. Can't wait to see what else is in the pipeline for this ROM.
Yes!!! Thank you for all your hard work. Beautiful rom and awesome colors.
Ava as you said, "Ava-Rosie- I forgot to remap + button to browser i will have it working in my new version along with a million other options!" Can't wait for the Full version.
- Force close on my Wireless Tether 2.07. I removed it with Titanium, reinstalled it off the market, and good to go.
- Force close on video camera
- Battery icon only does increments of 20 %
- Mms lags
Just wiped and did a fresh install, restoring apps + data only, no system stuff. Restarted a few times, did quadrant after a restart, got 1009 and after another restart 1059. To be honest I don't really care that much about it, but I am a little surprised because I think its lower than Z3, and I also I saw your tweet about beating the Atrix.
Everything for regular use seems pretty functional, no hiccups yet.
P.S. - TY for being awesome.

Can't remember the last time I had that problem.. a long time ago.. definitely not Z3. I have had this Z4 Beta running for 3 hours and so far nothing of the sort.
Could someone please answer this? Asked it in the other thread with no reply.

Quote by Jirv311(Rom Creator):
A note on the theme. Very little of the theme work is my own. It's basically one big mashup of several themes I find are the best with only a few of my additions. All credit should go to the original creators (unfortunately I can't remember who all they were).
A big thanks to DemonWav, NunHugger, bryman27, for helping to get my theme related problems resolved. And to TRusselo for providing a clean KJ3 base to start from. Also, to ddoubt for encouraging me to continue with building my ROM after me realizing mine was ending up very much like his.

I know they don't but from roms I've ran and benchmarked the numbers say a little something whether u believe it or not. Never once have I had any issue with wifi. So far can't find any flaws been digging pretty hard. Battery consumption is a little poor compared to others. Pros and Cons
Pros: Pretty fast and stable
Nice clean ICS like theme
Fairly light weight and not changed to much
Highest stock overclock
Cons: Unsupported at the moment due to ownership change, V6 hopefully coming soon
Doesn't have as many tweaks as some of the other roms, this could also be a pro for some people
Bottom line
Probably the simplest of the Roms I have tried, SCV5 is nice and stable, making it a good first choice, the theme is not too heavy, so it feels closer to stock than others. Many others are much more de-blurred and have more removed Motorola stuff. If you want a fast stable, but not to far off of stock ROM, Supercharged is the way to go. User Rdavisct has taken this over as one of his many projects and judging by his other work, I think we will all be in for a treat when SCV5 is released. (No Pressure Rdavisct if you are reading this)

INVERTED CONTACTS
INVERTED DIALER
JUST ABOUT EVERY MAJOR APK HAS BEEN THEMED
Pros and Cons
Pros: Great ICS like theme
Inverted color settings is great
Fast
Debloated and Deblurred
Cons: not much, a little less stable than supercharged, I have had a few reboots
Bottom Line
Much further from stock than Supercharged, fast, and beautifully themed, this is one of my favorites. Lithium would not be a good choice for those of you who are fans of all the Motorola Blur stuff, but for most it is great. The overclock is set at 1100, making it faster than stock, but still stable, and the removal of bloatware helps even more with the speed. There is a large emphasis on the theme, which is good for most people. It is ICS like, with blue icons and status bar clock, it also has the useful pull down options that are in most roms. The inverted colors in the menus and keyboard look fantastic, and they make it easier on the eyes at night. There are still a few places where colors have not been inverted, such as the battery use page, but in general the theme is flawless. CWM on boot is enabled by default, but can be disabled by flashing the standard removal zip. Lithium is one of the best roms available for our device, and I only expect it to continue getting better
It might be helpful for the reader to know what launcher comes as the default with any given ROM. Launcher preference is extremely important to some. My two cents. Good luck with the thread.
The End.

What a great idea to summarize all available roms for the Atrix 2 in one thread, Thanks!!!. I just want to suggest that perhaps it would be good to add the installation method of the rom, not the instructions, only something like this: " Lithium --> Install Method: CWM Restore.
VictoryRom --> Install Method: CWM Flasheable zip."

Thanks for being patient. Mirrors for all our major roms are now up. I also included the flash to stock script in case anyone needs it. download speeds are around 3 MB/s for me!
Thanks! Very Helpful

Do you mean the Mirrors, or me? The mirrors might if many people download, Google drive is new so I don't know if they would throttle, it could also go down just due to Google doing maintenance. If you mean, you are right, I am getting back to this, but I have been rally busy the last few days, tonight I am going to write up the Sonya v3 review and flash something else to try for tomorrow and I'll try to do one a night until I'm done. Sorry for the delay, it will be done before next week. I'm just crazy busy right now.

Thank's!! that fastboot script has saved me thozen of times . By the way i dont see the Victory Rom maybe you should put it in the list and in Google Drive, in my opinion it's an excellent rom, for people who likes the moto blur stuff it's awesome because it's fast and super stable and it's not a cwm backup (for those having problems to restore cwm backups)
Thanks for this, great idea.

Removed: GPS Icon on Status Bar
Removed: Sound Mods (should fix call echoing)
EdgeHD V4
COMPLETE Rebase on Stock VRBLK3! MANY Bugs Fixed (I think it's all of them, but I don't want to be proven wrong lol)
Added: Pdroid!
Added: More Custom Tweaks for Speed and Battery! (Honestly, I've never used a TouchWiz ROM this smooth)
Added: Free Native Tethering! (Take that, Verizon!)
Added: TrueSoundMod! (Walkman App has bugs doe...)
Added: Ongoing Wifi Notification (Sorry about this. I had to remove the previous mod to get ready to add lidroid toggles)
Removed: Wifi Toggle (Same reason as above)
ENJOY!
EdgeHD V3
Removed: Faux Ultimate and Stock Kernel versions of the ROM. Faux mainline should be stable on all devices.
Removed: Even more pointless battery draining system files!
Added: TrevE's Wifi Tethering Mod/App
Added: More Battery, Speed, and now 3G and LTE speed tweaks!
Added: Completely functional android 4.2 keyboard!
Added: AccuWeather Clock Widget
Added: Adblock Hosts and App! (The hosts are already in the Rom for you, you don't have to use the app. You can use it when they receive an update, however)
Added: Custom De-bloat experience! Verizon and Samsung's apps are installed to data/app, so you can uninstall the ones you don't want, and keep the ones you do!
Removed: XDA App
Probably more that I forgot...
EdgeHD V2
Initial Release!
"V2" Because I have spent many hours on this. I was already up to Release Candidate 20, and this is sort of the second version of Super Charged Wiz, so why not just make it V2!
I am not responsible if this ROM or any tweaks associated with it brick your phone, cause your dog to run away, kidnap your family, start thermonuclear war, etc! This will void your warranty, use this at your own risk!
WasabiWa83 for his custom theme!
PureMotive (for sooo much. Without him, this wouldn't be possible)
Velis74 for his auto brightness
ThilinaC for his beautiful boot animation
Synergy (for double tap for google now), Beanstown106, and Scrosler for their help
If I missed you, PM me!

Thanks for trying it out guys. You won't regret it

About that... I got permission from the developer of Elegant theme to use his theme in the rom.
The link is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080046
I'm just working on making a working port for this theme, as it is originally designed for the international version of our phone
Sounds like it'll be nice to use a rom that I don't have to go in a delete all that Verizon crap no one really uses. Downloading now. Thanks!

Very cool. Do you plan on baking it in or just making it a flashable zip? I kinda want to flash this now

There's an already ported version for it, I just need to ask the developer for permission to use it.
Here's the link to the ported one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084583

Haha
I'm happy to read this Rom will be supported for at least 1 year. Especially this being your main device, I know the development will keep improving on this Rom. I wished we had more developers like this. Thank you Edgehood

Thanks man. I honestly got kind of sick of developers not responding to comments, and roms just sitting there FOREVER without an update or fix. So, I decided to change that I'll support this as long as I have this phone, and when I upgrade in a year and a half, I plan to do the same with my next device
Rom is really good. Scored 5929 on quadrant.
Requests: volume control skip (if its possible in jb yet lol) 4.2 keyboard, add the tw clock back and remove xda or make it uninstallable. Same with play movies &tv.
Just my 2 cents but otherwise rom is good!
Keep up the good work!

Volume control skip and 4.2 keyboard are being working on as we speak! If you want the 4.2 keyboard now, you can go download Jellybean Keyboard from the Play Store Do you mean the AccuWeather clock? I took it out because it seemed to make the widgets side of the app drawer laggy. If many people want it back, I have no problem doing so the google play movies and tv and the xda app will be removed in the next build
Thanks for trying out my rom, it means a lot.
