Why Should I Use Serenicity?
Rom creation is a personal hobby of mine to maintain the greatest battery life that I can. I've scoured the forums searching for the newest and greatest tweaks, mods, etc. to include, and then carefully tested them all for battery performance. I've also made additional changes, developments, and additions all my own. As such, this rom has compiled the excellent work of many great developers into my own ideas and configurations. Contained within are many useful apps pre-installed as well as an effort to replicate my exact setup which has yielded me 0-1% battery loss per hour maximum when idle!
However, up until now, I have maintained my roms as a power-user with the LauncherPro interface. Although this is a fairly standard appearance for Android, iPhone, and some other devices, it can be a bit daunting for a phone. I know personally that some people enjoy the many apps and functionality of Android, but sometimes just want to open their phone and dial a number. Well this rom utilizes the beautiful Windows Phone 7 interface nicely brought to Android by Launcher7. This rom will be as fully featured as Phoenix, but will feature changes in an effort to tone down the complexity of Android. Keeping it Simple.

POTENTIAL ISSUES:
A glitch I've seen in testing:
After flashing this rom, phone get's stuck in a bootloop when flashing themes/kernels.
Solution:
Pull battery. Boot into CWM Recovery. Reflash theme/kernel. Reboot your phone.
Swype installs the latest Beta version after first boot:
You may not see it available at all for up to a minute.
Solution:
Wait a minute or two. Enter Settings/Locale and text and enable Swype.

Development and primary testing performed myself
For everything else, there's:
jeffro18, jdelano, Trident, spyder09
CREDITS:
First and foremost, a huge thanks to the guys at Samfirmware for making this possible!

Suggestions
Suggestions Will Be Accepted For This Rom, Although Not Necessarily Implemented
This is Beta because it's not completely finished. A few more changes I want to make.
As you may be able to tell, I am in the process of revamping this info page as well.
Those of you comfortable with ThunderHawk V, this is built on that.

It's meant to be different, and simpler, with all of the capability.

nice. i'm running CM9 beta2 with launcher7 and some tasker tweaks, but the battery life still isn't that great. I would love to test this out once complete. very nice!

It should run fine.
I just want to try to do a little more with it. May include the JoyMusic app, and also thinking about sms pop up, for immediate text responding.
My ToDo list on Android:
1. ThunderHawk V is basically perfect. Nothing really left to do on it.
2. FC09 Green and Sprint themes are needed, and possibly a Red one if I can get enough time.
3. Serenicity V is built on ThunderHawk V, so the performance is there, but it's pretty much a work in progress per user ideas.
4. ICS modifications. Gingerbread is fairly maxxed for our phones, ICS is the only thing left to really do. I've already started.

Yeah same here, this is what it reads
file_getprop: failed to stat "/sdcard/clockworkmod/options.cfg": No such file or directory
E:Error in /sdcard/..../Serenicity-V.zip

Installation aborted.
I am coming from mtd peoples rom, with the light blue CWM 5.0.2.7.
I wiped data, cache, dalvik.
I re-downloaded the rom to try again a couple times.
Same every time.

With a modded kernel from Netarchy you can accomplish these kind of results (overclocked 10 1.15ghz). Bite that Droid X & Nexus One ;-)
Here is a link to that kernel so you can flash it after you install the ROM. As always do a nandroid backup before flashing the kernel. One thing you should note is that the kernel limits the megapixels of the camera to 3.0. Other than that i have not had any issues running that kernel.
I have not had any issues running this rom or any of the linked apps, mods, kernels or software in this post. But as always I am not to be help responsible for anything that happens to you, your phone or anything else related should something go wrong

yes to the 8 mp camera and no to the wi-fi tethering (waiting for the developers of the app to update)
although if you want wi-fi tethering install the netarchy kernel but you will then only have 3.0 mp camera.... its your choice ;-)
EDIT: wi-fi tethering works with stock kernel and netarchy as of now.

Can you explain some things that you added and or took away to enhance our Evo's ?? Boot.img, Screen Locks.... Any customization ???
Thanks it looks nice !!! Great Job !!!!
Welcome to Android family. =]
D/ling this right now and will post results within half hour.
Edit:
Using sense:
Just like it says. Very stable, very smooth. All bloatware removed (kept only the minimals.) 38.573 best MFlops so far but on an average around 34, for me.
Everything else seems to respond fairly well.
Front camera works, back camera works. Don't have 4G in area to test but DOES go on into "scanning.."
Very nice and clean. Will be keeping this.

Took out all the sprint "****" that slowed the rom down. Tweaked the power settings and cleaned up /system. This rom should be clean, stable and speedy. You can easily remove sense by deleting /system/app/... Rosise.apk, HtcLocationPicker.apk and HtcLocationService.apk. Use a root file explorer or ADB Shell to do this.
I prefer LauncherPro verse sense myself but that's just my opinion. As always do nandroid backups and use titanium backup!
EDIT: You can download the senseless version in order to save yourself the trouble.

nice to see a fellow rochesterian here. my quad benchmark was with sense disabled... i've grown quite fond of launcher pro! I also achieve 38 MFLOPs with linpack. I'm very impressed with this FroYo build so far. I may have to "break into" my wifes phone and test that as well. she still has sense installed. hahahaha
EDIT: let me correct that... 40.009 MFLOPS

One quick question, do I need to flash the radio and wimax update if I have them already?
I've been flashing the new radio and new wimax update every time I install a new rom. Just want to make sure if I still have to do it or not, just wanna save some time.

Huh?!
Getting an error trying to flash this:
Verifying update package...
E:Wrong Digest:
system/build.prop
E:Verification failed
Any idea what that means?
So here is my quick review. Very snappy and stable. I was able to get 1330 quadrant on stock kernal with sense and 1275 with netarchys kernal at the same 998mhz. I believe that htc new kernal when released is going to be nice. I find the new stock faster at the same 998mhz. Stock kernal was giving better mflops as well at 998mhz. However, when netarchy's kernal was overclocked to 1125mhz I was able to get 1400 to 1453 quadrant on sense and 45 mflops.

Hey guys, all the working on the kernel has slowed development on the rom here it is working and very stable, we prefer you use the modified stock TWlauncher, but just to let you know there is a landscape bug in it still, landscape = a little jacked up, havn't had time to fix it...

Um... well just to see if you needed to wipe or not b4 you install this updated rom, I installed it over batman 2.2.7 and when I booted I kept gettin g-talk errors. I suggest wipeing but the good thing is that the setup wizard is back and will pull your applications from the market for you.
anybody else lose their dialer. No phone icon on the dock or in applications folder...
Never mind!! I downloaded from my XDA app the first time and I guess I did not get a piece...worked fine with a computer download.
LOVIN' THIS ROM/THEME!!!
Hey how about instead of making new threads over and over and over for the same rom, you just edit the first post?
The next thread you make for the updated rom, I will close and redirect back to this thread as it will be considered SPAM.

Ok, if you use this it will change the version info in the about phone to mammon's 1.0.3.1, but yes is safe to use, if you give me about and hour I will have the same update with the Batman version info in it. Sorry got a few things to do b4 working on this.
Also I would like to say I'm bringing back in version 2.2.9 the 1% increment blinking charging battery icon, I liked knowing what % it was at when it was chaging.
Update: please install 2.2.8 b4 using this update.
Also no wipe needed for this update just clock work it...

Try redownloading I'm in the process of switching servers because mediafire isn't the greatest, also do not download from the xda app there is a problem with the downloads on here it misses bits and pieces...
Also I gotta say I love Mammons work his rom's are always so stable and I do not have the time to produce anything to the even compare to his caliber of work right now, this is why I have borrowed his rom as a basis for this project.

would it be better to just make these into themes if they just basically on top of mammons rom?

Also I gotta say I love Mammons work his rom's are always so stable and I do not have the time to produce anything to the even compare to his caliber of work right now, this is why I have borrowed his rom as a basis for this project.

They are not just mammon's rom's I do change certain things to my likeing... And I did just post a framework theme... If you want to make it a theme go right ahead and pull all of the apk's you need and make it an update it is super super easy...
pull from /system/app in the original rom zip
Contacts.apk
DialerTabActivity.apk
TouchWiz30Launcher.apk
pull from /system/framework in the original rom zip
framework-res.apk
twframework-res.apk
pull from /system/media/video/shutdown
all 60 of the pngs in this folder.
pull from /system/etc
PowerOn.wav
pull from /system/media/audio/ui
Power_off.ogg
shutdown.ogg
these are all of the themed apk's and files so far, I believe...
then download the 2.2.8.2 update zip I made place these in the same folders inside the zip as the original rom and viola a theme/update zip that you can test out on any rom you would like.
Also you might have to make a new folder or two for the shutdown animation, PowerOn.wav, shutdown, and Power_off.ogg inside the update.zip...
I know this theme works with this rom that is why I do it this way and I in no way recommend doing what I have suggested above, as I have no way of knowing if it will work with any other rom... I will say that it will most likely work with Mammon's...
O'yeah and it will change the build # in the about phone section to Superheroes 2.2.8.2 Batman (that is if anyone attempts this)
Also if you attempt this please let us know what roms it works with and please make sure there are no bugs b4 you post that it works with another rom...
I'm sorry I figure if you are going to risk even soft brickin your phone that I do not want to be respossible for it and you yourself can attempt this...
yea, I'm just gonna stick with this rom, thats a lot of work LOL.
is there anyway to fix the rotation speed? thats the only thing that sucks now, waiting 3 secs for the phone to switch from portrait to landscape. my wifes stock epic switches instantly.
True quadrant score of 1095 with this rom (no silly i/o hack)...
I just installed the latest version. I didn't wipe, everything seems fine but behind the keypad, there is some image, is that normal

However, if you tried my original KWIQ rom and liked it but found yourself longing for the social integration only a Sense rom can provide, this rom is for you.

Wowzers Batman! I have been waiting for this! I have been running your AOSP Kwiq since basically it first dropped. I would flash the latest ICS release just to test em out, but always came back home to Kwiqy. Gonna DL and flash right now!!!
Thanks, gonna give this a run
Doesn't seem to boot. Flash fine after a full wipe of all except for SD and VR superwipe script. Gets past the white evo screen but goes to a dimly lit backscreen and no boot animation.
Good work!

Sweet. Looking forward to testing driving this tonight. I love a good, slimmed down, minimal Sense ROM.
As far as tweaks, how about the swipe to remove notification mod?

Thanks for the feedback, I had several problems with the initial file upload, my md5 would not match up when downloading by phone, glad it worked for you. As far as widget locker, that was actually a mistake including it in rom, I will fix in next update. I'll hit your thanks button when I get my next alotment of thanks to give!
YAY more nonsense roms . The bad original upload happened to me. Good luck on your work. Maybe you could help me port over Xperia apps.
This may sound silly, because I know it's with the 3.5 sense Roms, but is it possible to get the balloon text messages?
I don't have a pic of it, but I've always liked it more than the original text message setup.
One side has a balloon of the person you're talking to, and the other side has a balloon of what you're sending.
Is it possible?
Thank you!! Jamieg71 for president!!!

Information
'Fast Form' is a minimalistic stock ROM created from the latest Honeycomb firmware by Samsung.
This is one of my first public released ROMs so it's not the greatest, however I really want to try and make it the best I can!
I'm trying to keep this ROM stable and smooth so I won't add something that benefits one feature, but breaks another. I want a
smooth device for myself to get through my first year of high school. In order to meet these standards, the ROM is based off of
OMGBBQROM by bdds13. Big thanks to him for letting me use his ROM as a base! As of 1p.m. PST 6.1.12, the ROM now also
includes the favorable ICS theme by Antiochasylum! Thanks for letting me use it in my ROM!
Features
Latest Honeycomb firmware by Samsung
Rooted
Zip-aligned apps
De-odexed
Stability and Support
Includes latest version of the Market or Playstore
De-Bloated
Speed Enchancments
Build.prop Tweaks
And many more other modifications!
Coming Soon
Better stability
More speed tweaks
New included apps
Other cool features
Special Thanks
I just wanted to thank bdds13 for the base and Antiochasylum for the theme + all of my friends on XDA for teaching me a little bit about how ROMs work!
Disclaimer
I am not responsible if you brick, break, blow up, drop, lose, or get your device pregnant. Everything you do is your responsibility.
This ROM is only made for the GT-P6210/WiFi only Tablet, It is not compatible with Gary's Kernel, and it may not work on everyone's device.
I'm not a real developer and I don't know how to fix your device if you break it!
Installation
MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE YOU BEGIN. Place ROM zip on your device. It may go on the Tablet storage or an external sdcard. Enter the recovery by pushing Power+Vol_Up (releasing power after the tab is turned on), then install.
It's recommended to wipe all of your caches and if coming from a different ROM, a full data wipe. DO NOT WIPE YOUR SYSTEM!

And some more. Not sure what else. I haven't gone to bed and I don't have an organized change-log
Pretty much I did some smooth scrolling adjustments and made the image quality on pictures slightly better. The camera on this device still isn't going to take and breathtaking photos. It won't ever

I will be sure to post a couple once I test the ones I have found. I want to make sure there are no bad side effects.

Make sure that you have the WIFI tab. This is ONLY made for the WiFi tablet. Second, if you are installing from Cyanogenmod, make sure that you nuke your cache, data, and system partitions then restore a backup.
When restoring your backups, sometimes it may seem that the recovery has locked up, this may not be the case. Our recovery is very basic and lacks a lot of functions. While the screen may look frozen, it may actually be processing your restore. Please give your tablet at least 10 minutes to attempt to do a restore.
If you are having issues flashing try these steps:
1. Go back to a stable ROM or a stock one
2. Nuke the system, data, and caches on it
3. Flash the ROM
4. Nuke the caches and data
5. Restore your stable or stock ROM
6. Nuke the data and caches
7. Flash the Fast Form ROM and reboot
If you simply cannot get your backup to restore through the recovery, just wipe your data, cache, dalvik cache (under advanced in recovery), and system (under mounts and storage). Then flash the stock ROM zip or the Deodexed one by Antiochasylum

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I'm working on some more tweaks as I type this right now! Tuning the GPU to handle almost all the UI and having the CPU set to a lag free preference are my current objectives.

Working on some battery life tweaks, but I don't want them to interfere with my speed enchantments. There's a few baked in already though from the base itself. I have had great battery life personally (even though my opinion may be a bit bias xD)

Mother of ROM ! Thanks man for this <3 downloading and trying now
Sweetness looks good.
Installed over your [ROM] Team Shogun | Based on ICS 67.21.125 | v1.2. Flashed from Bootmenu. Worked great.
It takes a while to boot. Under five minutes for me. Didn't factory reset first flash. I was probably impatient. Pulled battery, got into stock recovery, factory reset, reboot got in.
Didn't have data, but found wireless networks, and was slow as hell. Looks like it locked up, then rebooted.
Second boot into it, everythings working sweet. Data came up, camera working, wireless working, tethering working. very nice.
It is a little sluggish. Installed Spare Parts and cranked window and animations to fast. Picked up a little. Cranked window animation scale up to 1x. Picked up a little more.
Great job. I'm not a MIUI fan, never have been, but this is pretty damn good. I'd love to pull some **** outta of MIUI and add to ICS or JB.
Going back to your SwiftyTrix, I guess it is. Maybe one day I get MIUI'd.
EDIT :
Then again, after messing with it to get everything working to flash back, kinda digging it. Damn you !!!! May have to back it up first....
Once again, great job !
Everything works well except text to speech fails (Unfortunatly Google Text-to-speech Engine has stopped) when trying to use navigation or just change TTS settings. I tried to clear the app data for it to no avail sadly. Also I have Straight Talk for my provider and it shows Airvoice Wireless as the provider tag (I did delete the one AT&T APN and added one Straight Talk APN for data and one for MMS). Also the phone gets pretty warm and the battery drain is very rapid (15-25% per hour).
Other than that it is great!
Not going to lie, I am quite excited about this! I have been waiting for CM10 but MIUI has always had special place in my heart. Will probably follow dicksteele and use bootmenu to install. I will be going from SCv7 so we will see how it goes. Hopefully my slow internet will download the file tonight so I can install tonight and have the full day tomorrow running it! Thanks again!
edit: also the instructions at the top is a little confusing. Just the part where it says the bootmenu can't be used. So just to clarify we can use bootmenu to install?

Yes if you have it installed on your current ROM ou can use it to install. You can also reinstall it after the flash for custom recovery but I was not able to get it to work as a second system with my other ROM.

Sounds good! Thanks for the reply. Can't wait to see what other improvements you have for next friday haha.
Installed it and its awesome !! But is it me or the phone gets hot for everyone ?? I'm thinking that the GPU is being used somewhere or may be OCed and thats why the phone gets hot and has battery draining fast.
Edit : battery is draining like crazy for now, !! 20% in 1 hour
Umm just one question.. OFFICIAL?? Or unofficial?
