[Q] Reduce in call volume (headset) - HTC One S

HTC One S, stock T-Mobile ROM.
Phone calls with a headset are uncomfortably loud on the lowest in-call volume setting.
Is there a setting I can tweak?

Volume+, give it a shot, there is a free version but I paid for the app, good app that works. I haven't tried reducing the volume on my headset yet but I know the app works for boosting volumes, I'm sure it has the ability to lower them also.

Thanks for the link!
Tried Volume+ and it only has options for increasing volume (+1...+4), thought it has a great interface.
I checked out a couple other apps in the play market and found that 'Volume Ace +' let me drop my 'system' volume to 0/7; this seemed to make my in-call volume a little better
I have voice call already set at 0/5. If there was a setting or app that could add a few more settings below 0/5 that would be great.

X10 Ringer volume

So we have root!
Somebody known app or tweak to increase the ringer volume?
Thx
I have no idea!
The volume of the ringer in my X10i is also too bad.
sometime I can't hear what the people said.
I also want to know how to change it.
So no one found a way to increase the ringer volume? I feel sometimes that I am going deaf. I may have to change my ringtone, but this is really annoying missing calls while you are driving.
Ringer as well as incall volume is too low in the X10.

true, but at least I can illuminate the in call volume issue with using bluetooth headset but the ringer...
This is weird that there is no hack for it.
Just use a decent ringtone, I've not found the volume to be a problem.
hey guys
i know theres not a hack for the volume ringer, but what i did was i use a program which can edit music files on my PC, and i just increase the actual volume of the file itself. then i transfer it to my phone and it plays a lot louder on the speaker. hopefully that can work for some of u
the program i use is called 'cool edit pro' however im sure theres a couple of programs which can do the same thing.
the effect is called 'increase amplitude', i usually use a scientific filter to decrease the amount of base in a song (which hte x10's speakerphone distorts anyways) and then increase the amplitude by about 10dB's. makes it a lot louder on the actual phone vs just putting the original mp3 in.

Ringtone is decent, volume sucks.
Thanks for your solution but that wasn't what I was looking for. I want to explode my speaker and I am looking for a hack.
Cheers,
search google for editing audiopara.csv, not sure how to do it myself as I find the volume to be mostly fine, but that is the key to changing it
just lookied at my /system dump, it's actualy audiofilter.csv on x10, and it's in system/etc

Universal volume controls?

one thing i love about iOS (dont hate) is that whether you are playing a game, listening to music, or your phone is ringing, the volume for all of these is the same. This is so useful because you know that if you sneakily open a game in lessons etc you know if the volume is going to be loud, or if you want to watch a video you can tell if its going to shout at you before you play.
I find it extremely frustrating when i load up angry birds for example and press the lower volume rocker and all it does is lower my ring volume if the game has not fully loaded yet, meaning i then have to do it again with my media volume once the game (or whatever) has loaded up.
I am wondering if there is an app that will allow me to set a universal volume controlled by the volume rocker? and that will change both media and ring volume (and any other type of volume) just by chaning the volume rocker. Does anyone know any apps?
I am not sure if this is the right section for it to go in, if not please could a mod move it. Many thanks
Exist?
so does an app even exist for this. BTW i am using a desire HD non-rooted
Audio Manager. Add a widget to your homescreen, and control the Media volume when you want to.
Thanks. Audio manager is great for checking what the level is which I'd really useful do I know if I open a game etc I know what the volume will be. But does anyone actually know if there is a way to have all the different volumes levels controlled by the volume rocker?

Did you find any way of doing this easily? I have the same problem and I can't believe it's a hell of a lot more of a common issue tbh.
Just a quick update for anyone searching - I found an app called 'Master Volume' which has worked for me.
It doesn't offer anything in terms of exceptions or individual control I don't think, but importantly it DOES link the volume controls together and links them at the same time to the rocker switch on the phone.
So you install it, then I opened the all and it says to just leave the service running in the background (so I set my task killer app to ignore the process). That's it. It just seems to work no problem.
Result!

Hi Cret could you share the link to the app you mention?

any way to turn the in call volume up?

My only gripe is the in call volume is way too low.
Have you checked the Hearing aid compatibility under your settings. On my vibrant, HAC mode made it really loud.
I've searched, I've read threads, I still havent found a good solution to this. I have the in call volume turned all the way up just to have it at a "normal" volume level, but then when I get one of those people with a quiet phone, I have no more adjustment to turn it up louder.
Why is it so hard to build a phone where the LOW volume is at a "normal" level so you can use the HIGH level for certain times you have a quiet call or are in a loud environment (like a shop where I work)?
I have Volume+ on my phone, but it doesnt do anything for the in-call volume. Also, when I go into settings/call there is NO OPTION for hearing aid whatever on any of the ROMs I've been running.
Does anyone know what file it is in the ROM which dictates the volume? Or is it in the kernel? Anything that could help? This is severely aggravating...
~T.J.
Anyone?

.. volume plus does not increase in-call volume, as the man says:
" Hi
I'm currently attempting to raise/improve the call volume but have so far been unsuccessful (when a call is active, the phone takes over all audio control, which i'm trying to get back, but I don't know if it's even possible).
For news and updates please see my website "

[Q] Help - Terrible in-call volume

Folks,
On my HTC Sensation, the in-call volume is so low that I can hardly hear the caller. I always have to switch to the speaker.
My in-call volume is set to max.
I think this happened after htc-sync upgraded the OS version to 2.3.4. My wife has exactly the same model but she does not have this problem. Her phone has not yet been upgraded.
I called HTC. They tell me that it is a known issue and to check back with them periodically. A lame answer:-(.
I would appreciate it if anyone has any idea on how to get my in-call volume back.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
Peter
i'm experiencing the same low in-call volume, so i rooted my device and installed the leaked HTC Sense 3.5 ROM and it's better, but not where i want it to be. i also flashed the TMOBUS (T Mobile US) rooted stock ROM and it has a HAC (Hearing Aid Compatible) feature that significantly boosts in-call volume, but you cannot adjust the volume. it's been my experience that volume boosts can be added to the kernel. i wish i knew how to do that... also, don't know if the source code has been released .... wish i could offer more help!

that's not going to work... you have to tweak the kernel (or some other object) to boost in-call volume. (i would love to be wrong, but i tried that app already)
+1 on vol plus you can also trie mikes revolution 4.1 which is the 3.5 sense leak. volume was a major improvement. developement has just started on this leak but i ran it with no major problems

The APP does not affect the earpiece or call volume. Its only for the speaker and music.
Volume + has boosted ALL volume settings on my phone including speaker. My experience has been
that the app needs to be manually activated as it seems to not start up at boot or run in background.

Root your phone and use volume + or dsp manager. Works like a charm. My volume is LOUD

i agree that the program works with in-call volume settings, or the same setting that you can adjust while on a call. the program does not amplify - or boost - the in-call volume like one can by manipulating the kernel (or other objects) so that it's louder. this type of manipulation is like adding an power-amplifier to a home-theater AV receiver. the net effect: on my Inc S with a stock kernel, my in-call volume setting would be level 4 (of 5). using a kernel with audio boost, my in-call volume setting is 2 and at most 3.

I bought the paid version of volume + over the weekend and actually got it to boost/amplify my call volume tremendously.
My only problem now is my new Anker battery is being drained at abnormal rates as a result from using this app. A 20 minute call costs 20=30% of battery life vs. before the app was installed.
Obviously the CPU is getting a work out just running the app. I would think the increased voltage to the speaker would constitute as some kind of amplification like a home theatre system.
Has anyone else experience abnormal battery life as a result from usning this app?

Good settings for volume+

Hello fellow HTC sensation owners
As you might know, the sound on the sensation isn't very high. That is why you can get the app called Volume+ . With that you can adjust some settings and get higher and better sound. I got some setting that will do that so follow this:
This is in speaker settings.
Speaker Modifications (on(of course))
Virtual room effect (on)
EQ settings ( Good quality)
Volume Level(15)
Bass level(8)
Virtual room (3)
Low: 200
Low/mid: 168
Mid: 136
Mid/high: 34
High: 96
Volume level:15
Bass boost: 15
Echo/delay level: 1
These are the settings, I hope it helped your experience. I've tried it with headset settings as well, and it seems to help. If I helped remember to hit the THANKS button
Volume level 15?? that would be dangerous.. Thanks fire settings.. Will try it ...

Volume + works on my S4G but the app doesn't seem to run in the background at phone start up. I just click on the app icon then hit home button so it runs in the background then, but it does work for me.
I have tried this app before... Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can gather it artificially boosts the volume, it doesn't make the phone properly louder.
When a quiet part of a song is playing the app boosts it, but when something really loud is playing, it stays loud, it doesn't become louder since the hardware is already pushed to the max. This way music gets distorted :\
But if I missed something and this app actually somehow "adds more volume", please tell me, since I could use more volume

Volume+ works fine on my Senny.
I'm working with an older built though. (1.7.3 I think...)
I would play a song, then open Volume+ with the song playing and as you make adjustments in Volume+ you can hear the changes happening. Works just fine for me
I tried your settings so far it hasnt killed it
are you guys having any success increasing in-call volume? Not really working for me on arhd sense 3.0 or 3.5.
