There is this good program called QQ HD in the market, its Chinese chat program that takes after the desktop version..
Reason I am posting about it here is I use it a lot of work and for social here in China..but also this new Android version is killer.. its a model plenty of other apps could follow.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50ZW5jZW50LmhkLnFxIl0.
Its got a handle on the sliding windows and multi functions with in itself so as to give it a multi tasking feel..
As you will see via the screen shots.. you can chat and listen to music or go to Video..
plus opens panels to see the social pages of your contacts.. kinda puts Facebook and Skypes app to shame

+1 Yes please haha. Looks amazing. So we just need a language port?
+2
What I really like is resource use.
It uses way less battery and data than any other chat program.
It's based on the old ICQ I used in the 90's
I'm sort of used to the language thing now. There's an English language version for windows, but not Android or Apple.
Yes, the copy paste function works well, so most of my conversations are in Chinese using Google or Bing as a translator..
Then most of the commands know now..
but a English version would be nice.. understanding that they are geared to the Chinese Market so I don't hold my breath for this too soon.
We are lucky to have the English PC version, but there seems to be times I have to resort to the Chinese version for video chat as it seems the English version is going through different servers and sometimes the bandwidth sucks..
But the use of PtoP for TV, music, social all in one makes for a nice hub if you are this region.
bit scary thinking about how many people are logged in on their servers if you take into account mobile and hardwired.

Hey, just found a cool dialer app, Phonebook 2.0.
It allows you to connect your contacts with social networks, including pictures and birthdays! I really missed that in the current version of the SE dialer... AND it even offers a Timescape-like overview, called "activities", which lists all mails, messages, calls, etc. like the main spline of timescape.
There are a lot more functions, and some things are only announced right now - just check it out if you want!
Oh, did I mention it's free?
Cheers

Not a bad program however I think I will just wait till the 2.1 update as I don't like the interface to much and found it a bit laggy when playing around with it.
Wow its finally out they were working on this back on Android 1.1 I hope its great.

Thanks phil. The app install fine and opens too. Unfortunately it needs a US credit card too, even during the 30 day free trial. Sadly it doesn't accept my international card.
Anyway, thanks for the help man.
hahah i was just about to create a thread about this app!
i downloaded it last night and played around with the free trial. i'm glad that there's finally a decent magazine reading app for the android that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
the only downside is that it was crashing a lot when downloading the magazines. once the magazine is downloaded though, the interface can rival the ipad's magazine reading apps with embedded video and what not. flipping pages can be a little bit smoother too, as large articles take about 2 seconds to load sometimes.
has anyone else given this a try?
Google Play is now saying it is incompatible with Transformer TF101. I find this really odd....
Yeah, for some reason the market won't let you download this if you're using certain devices (Transformer, Transformer Prime, etc). I contacted Next Issue about this and they sent me a real helpful link that has the actual apk available for download:
http://support.nextissue.com/Knowle...ported--how-do-i-get-next-issue-for-my-tablet
I know someone already posted the apk, but I figured this would be a link to the actual, legit source
fyi: the current apk can be download from their official site: http://support.nextissue.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/166/

I want to add one, the CloudOn app! As close as a full office (well, at least Word, Excel and PPT) as you can get with nearly all functions for free. It looks just like Office 2010, and you get a row with all the Ctrl and other PC shortcut buttons that works like Ctrl + D for subscript or superscript etc, Ctrl B for bold text etc.
There is some problems however, that makes it not just as great as it sounds at first. It lags sometimes and as far as I can tell there are only landscape mode avaliable. But it's really worth a try, and if you are an advanced user you'll be happy to see that even equations typed in is showing and working just like the PC version. Text and maybe images is something almost any .doc editor can handle but everything else usually becomes one big mess. With this one though, I find every component and the alignments very close to MS Office.
So, try CloudOn and see how it works for you compared to the above mentioned office apps is my advice

So, today I found this and had to share this.
MyScript Calculator
Vision Objects
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visionobjects.calculator&hl=nl
As i'm always looking for apps that utilize the spen more, i'm very focussed on handwriting apps. This app makes the calculator fun!
Enjoy
Have had this one for a while now it's fun but can get very annoying since it doesn't recognize longer calculations that well..

Agree, it'll lack functions when making comlex calculations. But it'll be faster for quick calculations, i'm already using it for basic change. I'm still liking it

They just had an update on March 11, 2013 so maybe they fix the issue you were talking about.
Here is the English - link

.
Request for more function
One more function for the basic user is use the history data (the result from previous calculation) could you develop for it? :fingers-crossed:
Has anyone found a way to make long calculations? Let's say that I wanted to add 6 five digit numbers... They're is no way I can squeeze about 30 digits plus about 4 operators into the width of my phone in landscape mode... Forget about portrait.
I think that a particular sign should be given to make the app understand that calculations continue into the next line.

i have been a samsung user for oblivion, now i have note 20. however, i can t help thinking that, instagram and facebook are so friggin smooth on iphone, everything has animations, and smoothness in the transitions, on android, it has barely any animation, entering and exiting aswell, what they dont fix the animations of these apps on android, im seriously contemplating ditching samsung and get an iphone just for the smoothness of their apps and transitions., i ve gotten sick of this man.
Ditch that trashware meaning fb and Instagram.
They should never be installed on an Android.

So u mean, he specifically asks that it s only optimized for iphone?? Meaning he hates android
If the apps provided by Meta are running well on iPhones but not on Androids, then they arent't well coded, IMO.
You may request Meta to provide appropriate remedy.

what meta, the app is not smooth, i mean it s developped for the iphone , that s what i mean, it doesn t have animation and transitions in every aspect, opening photos, opening the menu etc... it s just not smooth on android, both facebook and insta.
