Hi, writing with my new huawai. ascend g300 and opera mobile...
And I would really like to know, if there are any plans to implement a huawai section? Because their big enough allready.
Also other asian smartphone suppliers are getting bigger and deserve a seperated section here on xda.
ok, thats all for now, thanks.
If you post in the right section and thread, you might get an answer.

This should be in the Q&A section. Ask your question there. Thank you.
What I thought was, I'd become one of those deaf-mutes; or should I?

Don't even ask there. He needs to search and read. Actually, in this case, he just needs to read. As of 2 PM on Sunday, Aug 20, the answer to his question is TWO THREADS below his on the development forums. It's on the first damn page of the forum.
Edit: It's also a sticky post at the top of Q&A.
Closed for obvious reasons.
Please can you tell me if my HTC Desire S, which is rooted with a Three UK ROM added, will get the OTA Update of Android. It currently has Android 2.3.1 HTC Sense 2.1. My other HTC Desire S is not rooted but has updated to 2.3.5. The rooted phone also still has the old Market and not Google Play.
How many times?
Wrong place, wrong place, wrong place, wrong place...
Reported to mods for moving to "Desire S Q&A" where it should have been in the first instance.
Come on dude
You've done this several times now, and we've already said we had to report it for being in the wrong forum. Can't you take the hint?
Good job Simon!

OP please read the forum rules in my signature. you are NOT to post question threads in the Development section.

It won't get the OTA because it is rooted and if you were given the chance to update it it would mess up your phone and it would not update properly. Which OTA are you on about? The ICS one that could be months away or the sense 3 one?
There must have some people can help you to solve this problem.

Is Alice trolling here? I can't honestly tell for certain.
The OP asked his question, there were then three posts relating to him putting it in the wrong place (again) and Sharpinator then answered him and asked a question back, so I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of your post was.
My query was about an Android, that's why I put my message in the Android Form.
Messages like, "Wrong place, wrong place, wrong place, wrong place," are not appropriate. People like me who are far from experts are only looking for some help from the experts.

You didn't put your query in the "Android Forum", you put it in the Developer Forum. If you are such a newbie here (which I find surprising given the fact that you have been on this site since 2004) then you could at least have the decency to read the forum rules first. As Sgt Slaughter stated;-

It isn't really difficult to look at a list of forums and work out that a question such as yours should be in the "Q&A" forum.
You were told previously on a different thread not to post in the Dev forum so you can't claim ignorance as an excuse, and you actually got your question answered as well, so I'm not entirely sure what your problem is.
P.S.
My query was about an Android

Any particular Android? Maybe the one in the 1982 film of the same name, with the memorable tag-line "He learns to love, he learns to kill ... Android becomes man"

Thanks for pointing out that I answered him! He must of skipped over my answer. Oh well did my best to help
I am confused as to where requests for assistance should be posted. Do I see a forum -- and a subforum?
We have XDA Assist, which is unlocked to new posts, and then we have Post New Thread, also unlocked and accepting new posts.
I read the documentation for the main forum, and thought I'd post my assistance request there. I only saw there was another area after I posted in the first area.
Or does it make no difference? Sorry, but if this information is already available, somewhere, please give me a link. Couldn't find it!
It depends on your problem. The nature of XDA Assist is to help users in looking for the right place for their issue. For Ex. for your phone, we do not have a Sub Forum Defined. So you'd go to
> Android Development and Hacking
forum. Within it, you can either post in Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting if you have a problem you can't solve. Other wise if its a general discussion on the phone, you can post in Android General
Does that make sense ?
Question that started this thread is answered, may be closed.

Well ... still confused.
Maybe the threads XDA Assist and Post New Thread, are in fact one and the same?
They seemed to be separate, but perhaps I should take note of the first few posts in each, and see if they're the same?
Anyway, I posted in the XDA Assist thread, and it seems to be working -- I see my other post has one reply.
No one else seems confused, so I guess it's just me. :silly:
Different question from different thread answered, both threads may be closed.
So, I'll go to --
> Android Development and Hacking
and then, since it's not a problem needing troubleshooting but just something general on how Android works (I doubt it's phone specific) I think I'll put it into 'Android General'.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! And the instructions for this forum say the moderator will close the thread when the advice has been given, so please feel free to do so, now.
Hi
I am sorry to come here and spam this forum.
It takes 10 post to get into a developers section to ask an question and I do not have very much questions to ask other than matters of SailfishOS.
I hope not to get too much spanking here until my 10 posts are done and get rights to ask something that matters :crying:

Hi there,
Please read the thread bellow related to your question:
Postcount limit in developmental fora
If you have some problems to report about some ROM, please use the thread opened in the Questions&Answers forum for your device (you don't tell us what device you own)
Good luck
My attempt was to get a question thrown to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/rom-sailfish-os-alpha-t2859817
Asking about Sailfish OS ROM for Nexus7 3G model (tilapia).
But then, I cannot or I should not post there since it is a developer section.
I'll guess this is the more appropriate place to ask a question.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/jolla-sailfish/general
By the way. Thanks for the guidance. After reading a bunch of guides, this huge site became more understandable. I have been reading this site for years but now is the first time when it seems that there is not a ready answer for a question.
I'm currently on B120SP04 Gold 3GB version I don't get any OTA update since i bought it plz help ... i want to update to lollipop ...
Firstly you really should search and read the forum threads.
Secondly given what you have posted I have to ask again: Is you phone Mate 7 TL10 INTERNATIONAL version?
if yes look into this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/lolipop-update-vb313-tl10-link-t3160376
We're all happy to help ppl here, but if everybody spawn thread like this the forum will be chaotic
If you have any question, search the forum first, read the posts, if you are sure you can't find any solution, post a new thread.
Thanks
