before i'm buying this phone, does htc one s support usb otg ?
it's really big deal for me when it doesn't support
It looks like that you need a adaptor with external power support.
I also looked for a while and I wasn't able to find another solution. Maybe there will be a root-way soon

did you ever tried this before ?
i need OTG USB just for reading my usb stick.
btw thx mate
You probably meant that link:

It works alright
I have the phone ages and only thought to try recently.
This is the first thread that pops up for me on Google, so I'll answer it for anyone wondering.
I have a cheap ebay adaptor a day and it reads and writes just fine
It seems to be hit and miss, I can't get it to work reliably no matter what I try, different adaptors, different usb sticks (there's definitely more of a problem with some sticks), different otg helper apps.
I have an adaptor on order which also has a power in socket, maybe that will work.

USB, not SD
i was able to find it after some searching. i need to root and install the 1.4.0 kernal than flash to 1.4.1 and use a usb host adapter. thanks for the replies guys
And make sure the cable is an otg (on the go) cable as it has an extra pin (I think) which lets the xoom know its hosting
Can't vouch for this one working but it shows the kind of thing

It won't work. Buy or send for the Motorola Camera Connection Kit which is a real OTG cable or check the Accessories section for recent theads on other tested OTG cables. It's the only way to use the Xoom in usb host mode.
wow! Ok, mmm i'll search for a OTG for Nokia Cellphone that will work?

There is one advertised on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227483. I'm not certain that the Nokia cable will work, but if it is regular usb on one side and micro usb on the other, and is true OTG pin-out, it should work.

I'm assuming you want to connect something to the Xoom and have the Xoom in usb host mode.
Is your new cable a usbOTG cable? If so we can probably get it to work. If it is just a regular usb female to micro male cable it won't work, because OTG has a different pin configuration.

As I understood, I can't get it work, is there any other rom that I can get it work with?
If not, can u give me amazon link for one of the cable you have?
Otg has different pin, but I remember one guy made it work with making an installation file for motorola milestone which I have (with froyo), is there anyway like this to get it work? Or fake the pin ?

The link avobe is for a cable sold on ebay. You have to be a bit careful because some say OTG but they aren't. The official Motorola Camera Connection Kit is a small cable that is a proven OTG.
If you are rooted the Tiamat Hammerhead Rom or the Tachi kernel give USBOTG support.
There are also some free apps that help to mount//unmount the drive.

One app is called USB Watcher OTG and another is Drive Mount. They should both be in the market.

LG has resolved the power issue, so it should. Recall that the N4 was released as USB OTG, but had to be backtracked when it was discovered there was no power. Fortunately,,cable and kernel tweaks by devs worked around the issue.

YAAAAY!!!
Looks like it should from the various log file leaks etc. My main reservation will be the ability to get ethernet working OTG like with the N7. Got this working with my Note2 after building the kernel modules myself - hopefully the N5 will be precompiled, or easy to create too.
Most Android phones at the moment support it so it would be weird if the N5 didn't support it

maybe for making it cheap xD
If the service manual that was leaked is accurate, the hardware will support USB OTG. There are a bunch of references in the manual (the Qualcomm power management IC has a VOUT_5VS_OTG output, a block diagram for the charging/USB area shows +5V0_OTG_OVP (over voltage protection), and there is a OTG enable line listed (OTG_EN)).
I didn't realize the N4 didn't support OTG (without a bit of a work around) until I came across this thread and did some reading about it.

That is a nifty device. I was going to sell my 64GB uSD card with my Note2 after I get the Nexus 5, but maybe I will hang on to it and get one those uSD adapters. It would be much easier to carry that uSD adapter with a 64GB card inside instead of an OTG cable and a thumb drive.
Matt
If the N5 is even loosely based on the LG G2 it will have USB OTG host. My G2 natively mounts mass storage devices via USB OTG.
Does any one have a link to a mirror of the N5 service manual?

I had a hard time finding it, but eventually I Googled lg-D821.pdf and found this...... ironically stored on Google Docs. You will get a warning about the file being too big for Google to virus check it. I went for it and it is the manual.

Nice! Thanks for this!
Hello, I purchased a Dodocool 3 USB 3.0 + HDMI + External Power hub for my OnePlus 7 Pro. The adapter works fine on my Note 9. However, I can only get HDMI to work with my 1P7P. I have OTG Enabled. Any advice? Would really like to use the hub / monitor / keyboard and mouse. One I use a standalone type c to a OTG adapter keyboard and mouse works, just not with the hub.
Thank you in advance!
USB storage is detected on USB 3.0 ports just not the mouse and kb.
I have the same issue and I opened some threads around the web looking for other feedbacks.
XDA
OnePlus Forum
Reddit
Android Central
The problem seems to be common on hubs that deliver video out. I tried using the original OTG cable paired with a simple USB3.0 4 ports hub and all the devices are properly recognized. Instead, complex hubs are recognized as a "storage" device, no matter what you attach to them (but storage + HDMI works on several hubs).
I posted a similar question on Reddit. No answers yet, I basically want to know if Dex style hubs work with op7p. I currently use my old v20 with HDMI USB mouse and keyboard with power delivery, but it doesn't work with my v30 even tho USB to HDMI works. I want to buy this phone, but don't want to make the same mistake twice. I like using moonlight to stream my PC for gaming.
Dang, yea - I wonder if it is an issue with usb 3.0? It detects drives attached and HDMI just cannot talk to kb or mouse. I am going to keep poking around the system.
I wonder if it is a kernel level issue?
I fixed it! Flash this kernel! https://forum.xda-developers.com/on.../kernel-kirisakura-1-0-0-op7-pro-aka-t3933916
So just to clarify, HDMI, USB keyboard/mouse, SD scard, and power delivery all work together?

Yep 100% after flashing the kernel.
Can confirm, same here! It's just that kernel though, other kernels don't seem to work.

Which kernels have you tried? It would be great if we could make a list of working ones.
I'm wonder if this will fix the issue I'm having with my PS4 controller via otg? It doesn't work at all except for in Steam link app. Sorry for hijacking the thread.
Probably it has to do with it, I'm having issues with the Xbox 360 wireless receiver here. :/

I'd back up via Twrp then flash the kernel.
Sent from my OnePlus 7 Pro using XDA Labs
Is there a Kernel that would also work for the OP6T?
Just installed twrp, rooted my new and fully updated OP7 Pro and then flashed the kernel but the result is the same.
USB-c to USB works
USB-c to hdmi works
USB-c to HDMI/USB/SDCARD/JACK/RJ45 - Only HDMI Works.
Anyone got any suggestions to where I might have gone wrong?
Does anyone have another solution other than flashing the kernel ? i dont want to root my phone and i really need to use my device to connect hdmi+usb port+audio jack at the same time .
my huawei mate 20 just work fine . but oneplus 7 pro doesn't .
