What's up guys?
Next week I will be flying to Europe for 2 weeks trip, and I am looking for a Rom for the Sensation which will give me as much as possible battery life.
As for today I am using Insertcoin rom sense 4.0, which is great but after 10-12 hours of medium use I need to recharge the phone.
I need a Rom with or without Sense (but with android 4.0), that will be good for a day of use with Gps, Wifi and stuff like that.
Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks Alot and have a great weekend!
I think the stock battery is just poor better get an anker like i did from ebay and i do not regret it a single bit battery has been improved by almost 2times ! I can do 17 hours unplugged whit 3hours screen on time which i couldnt do anything close to that before..

Anyone who has installed the Gingerbread rom on their Inspire, have you noticed any difference in battery life. This is supposedly the main benefit to the upgrade. I want to wipe the Bloat ware off my system, but not install a rom unless it makes a huge difference. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated...
I am running inspired ace which runs gingerbread and battery life is great.

Major increase by about 3 hours...set cpu to power save when screen off and run at 756 does amazing things.
Also lowering brightness and turning of network when not in use

I too started getting MUCH better battery life with gingerbread. Any non-stock Rom for that matter.
If you want the absolute best in battery life go with gingerbeast ROM...

+1 to inspired ace and much better battery life than stock.
Last time I went battery for awhile; See attached.
Granted 9 hours of that I was asleep as was the phone but the rest was me playing games, reading, downloading apps, browsing listening to music using stereo bluetooth.
Rom is in the Sig.
Gingerbeast does have awesome battery life. I reverted back to RCMix3D only cause I missed it, and I get about 10-18 hours out of my battery on that one.
+1 on the RCMix,, cant say its much longer,, but it is good for a 8 hr wrk day..
+1 for inspired ace rom - battery is great and so is the performance increase!

That is word for word what I do...
And it is amazing. I highly recommend this.
gingerbeast has been ridiculously awesome for me on battery life. with moderate to heavy use, i get 12-18 hours of use a day
I have used HoneySense and LeeDroid, I have found that LeeDroid's kernel MUCH better than both HoneySense and the stock when it comes to battery life. In the end, it all depends on what you want, when you want alot of bells and whistles on all the time, your battery life will suffer, if you are more minimalist, you battery life will be much better
So far I've been one of those 'bells and whistles' people, and even on VU1.27 which I assume is pretty efficient I only get 8-9hrs. Surprising the biggest user has been voice calls, which will suck the battery dry in 2-3hrs if you have a couple long conversations.

I have noticed once the Dialer is used, it seems to keep eating battery if I don't restart. I'm not sure if this is the ROM or android in general though...

Glad I'm not the only one. Just assumed it was a radio issue.
I've run Cyanogen ROMS, Senseay, InsertCoin, and ARHD. I'm a pretty heavy user I would say, I get up at 6:00 in the morning, and my battery is usually dead by the afternoon if I don't charge it. To me the roms all seem the same as far as battery life is concerned. Anybody have input as to what roms have given you great battery life, any apps you have that help or what you do it improve battery life?
Thanks
Buy another battery? Im a heavy user and i get about 8/9 hrs. Lasts all day with moderate usage.

I've read a little somewhere about other batteries people buy for the sensation. Any ideas as to what those batteries are?
try miui! perfect battery life!
With light to moderate use on the newest ARHD ICS 5.0.2, I am still sitting on 55% battery life.. and i've been off the charger for 27 hours now using the anker 1900mAh battery. Make sure you match recommended radio's and rils.
Its the banker 1900 math battery. Its really good. My battery usually lasts between 12-21 hours.. i love it

Anker, Mugen, and Chichitec are the companies to buy from.
You can also buy an EVO 3D battery cause it's the same physical size but it's 1730mAH.

Mind telling me which MIUM ROM version you're running? I've never run MIUI and from what I see there is only one am I right? Most recent version is 1.12.23. If I run that with kernal 1.6 I should have great battery life? I'm not doubting you I'm actually really interested to try this, just want to make sure I get the same configuration as you have to see if I can get similar results. Thanks for the reply.
Also I have the normal sensation 4G not the XE, I noticed the bricked kernel V1.6 says XE, is that problematic with my phone or should I use V1.5?
I must say that ICS4.0 gave me much metter batt.life! im using ARHD 4.0.2 and using stock battery. batterylife is now better then stock ROM (android 2.3.4)
really think you should give it a try. (new firmware will give it even better i think, havent tried)
Try to wipe battery stats.

I tried most of the Rom Energy is the best for sense Rom. For no sense use miui but make sure do not install any launcher use the launcher come with miui.
If u r keen on sense Rom then make sure you have minimum widget running on home screen they r battery draining, try juice defender from market. Turn off auto update. Live wall paper will drain more battery as well.

I always update to the latest MIUI, currently on 1.12.23 yes. I have normal Sensation 4G and running Bricked_XE-Kernel-AOSP v1.6 on it. Works flawlessly!

I just aquired an Sensation and installed a custom ROM. However, horrible battery life. I can have my phone unplugged and within 1 hour the battery is more than halfway gone. What is the best ROM to have a long lasting batterylife. I dont care about the fancy animation and unlock screens, I just need a really good batter life on a ROM that has the wifi tethering working. Can anyone recommend a good one for batterlife?
Thanks
You night want to check if the md5 checksum matches. That kind of behavior is not normal for andy ROM

Hello, also you might consider getting a long lasting battery! I use Anker long lasting battery and its made a huge difference in my battery time! You can get one for under 20.$ very reasonable price! I was having your same issue on my stock battery it was ridiculous! After changing battery and watching my settings my battery life improved drastically! Hope this helps. Best wishes to you!

How is the stock Rom with battery? Just wondering if it's worth rooting and putting a custom Rom on for battery

cm10 has nice battery life ..m using dark jelly S v20 the battery is really good works almost a day for me with me almost connected for 14-16hrs of wifi connectivity and listening music and of course auto sync always on ! u should try all once before proceeding further
Energy ROM and of course.. other stock based ROMs have the best power management available, you know, engineered by HTC

For me, cm10 gives better battery life than stock Sense. I think it depends on how you use your phone.
I'm using Baked too, but for me battery life is just great! Actually on 57% with 8h 27m and almost 1.5h screen...

Of course rooting for battery is a good idea. Undervolted & underclocked kernels, delete bloatware that's constantly running, etc. And as far as best battery life, baked has been very kind to my phone.
A typical day for me (7am on phone for 2-3 hours reading the news before work, music to/from work, light usage on breaks, then hotspot at home for internet, and all the calls/texts in between and countless downloads) will leave me with 20-30% battery when I go to bed around midnight

hey guys! so i have an htc sensation one year 4 months old and the battery life is kinda " crappy " .
i charge it when i'm asleep and it goes from 100 to 85 in almost 5 min .. and if i continue to use it (heavy use) it can live up to 3 hours max !!
is that normal ??
or should i buy a new stock htc sensation battery or maybe u could recommend me a good battery that last longer ?
waiting for ur answers ^_^
P.S: i live in sweden ..
no it is not normal
you should definitely get a new battery
try to buy Anker or Mugen batteries
they last quite longer
Like the guy said above; buy an Anker 1900mah battery from amazon.com. Will give you roughly 20% extra mileage on stock. Also from my experience with this phone the ROM and kernel also impacts battery life. For the best battery life use the badass governor on battery saving setting and set the cpu between 192-1086mhz. As I don't game heavily and just heavily text, call, browse it lasts me a full day with brightness on lowest.

thank you for the reply , i use bruce's cm 10 with his kernel. and i don't game at all i can say .. but it's just the battery that sucks .. one question does amazon ship to sweden ?
Edit: just bought one from uk amazon thank you guys really
You're welcome Have you tried changing badass governor to battery saving in his init.d script? And turn off the capacitative button lights using kernel tuner. I'm using this set up and I get 4 hours onscreen time on the latest CM10 version

yes i've tried that before but no difference :| so i bought a new battery :good:
I would reset the phone and buy a new an OEM battery. You can use the 1730mAh battery from a Sensation XE(check eBay). I wouldn't recommend an aftermarket battery, since they are of lower quality that HTC made batteries.
I just bought the 1900mah anker battery from amazon . I'll try it and see
