Why is it "not fair"? The One S was released on April 25th, almost 2 weeks before the One X was released. Not to mention they pushed it back from tomorrow to June 4th so it's still possible we could still get an update first.

Actually, he's right. Who cares about the One S? We're on the One X forum.
Hi, to avoid any confusion, lets keep all OTA talk in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642476

It's fact. They don't want to release something that may cause bricked devices.
The Youtube video shows July 18th... It won't be long.
Patience grasshopper.
I wouldn't want something rushed. A working device is better than a bricked device.

It'll come out when it comes out.
Asking, guessing, complaining why it's not out doesn't help anyone, all it does is clutter up the damn forum.

No problem. We're all dying for s-off, but I will gladly wait for one that will most likely not brick my phone. I don't see why some people are mad that it's taking Alpharevx long to release it. If I were him I would release an untested version and laugh at people with $600 paperweights. >=]

You won an argument on an internet forum. There's something to tell the grandchildren about.
Just like my post, yours could have went without saying. I may be wrong, but I don't feel like you repeating something you've heard countless times and most likely have been told yourself helps at all. Could just be me though. Carry on.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but there are already THREE other threads about CM7 on the Sensation....anyway a few of the CM7 devs already have the device and are currently working on making the CM7 for the Sensation public

That was inaccurate info. There has been no beta testing for "select" tmo users. One person posted a fake email to some tech blogs and they ran with it like a bunch of saps. The tmo one s will be updated and sooner rather than later, but there was no beta/soak test for members of the public. It is, of course, in internal beta testing at tmo, but for employees only. At least that's what I was told through HTC Elevate.

I don't see any reason it wouldn't work on our phones, though I bet AT&T might block it like they do with Google Wallet. I read somewhere they're developing their own version based on ISIS.
Maybe we could get a port from the Nexus? I could see how this could be very useful.
Yes, with the monetary potential of the smell-o-phone, I'm sure AT&T will block it in favor of their own proprietary version.

Well it looks like AT&T is trying to stop Loki, to no surprise really but all I keep seeing is people trying to update for the new lackluster SD Card feature and COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that secure boot is now enabled in the update and AT&T is making strides on the aboot to block Loki.

They are idiots. It is common sense.
Correct me if I am wrong, shouldn't they just wait until a dev gets a hold of the update...and updates their rom with the newest release?

Yeah. But the bigger issue is that soon S4's will start shipping with the new aboot. Then there will be a huge chunk of S4 owners who will never be able to flash recoveries, roms, or kernels.

I posted the "wiki" link in a couple of threads already earlier (one of them was the "Loki discussion thread") to help make people aware of the issue. It was also discussed when the "new update" was announced. The problem is that people will still not read and install it anyway. But, maybe this will help a few more people.

No dis-respect but I strongly enourage to use the search function of the site, just friendly advice before a real developer tears you a new one XD
In the mean time, yes, you can protect yourself by rooting and disabling to update .apks'.
I have seen a lot of mixed info. Some say it wont auto update, others say it will. Best guess is AT&T will indeed try to force push the update.

You wont get burned as long as you don't officially patch up. Its future S4 buyers that will get massively boned once they realize they are stuck until a new bootloader unlock/bypass is found.
The rest of us in the know only have to worry about lack of development support once this patch comes full force.

Personally I hate TW, so the minute i got the phone I got rid of that and put an AOSP rom on the phone (Currently putting the latest PAC Rom nightly on lol) but yea future S4 users will be screwed if the new patched aboot doesnt allow for some kind of exploit...Which in turn hurts future development on the device...the only good thing is that the snapdragon variants of the S4 are all identical basically, as such international roms work on our device, just need to flash a device specific kernel/libs =)
I froze At&t software update v42.1.1303.5.1 hopefully that is all that is needed.
