Hey guys,
I have the AT&T Skyrocket and I downloaded all the .png icon files from the SGS3 phone. How do I replace the current .pngs? I guess I just am not sure where the file that contains them for TW is?
I'm running stock 4.0.4 ICS/Rooted/TW from GSG3 installed.
TIA!
I don't think you can with TW. Apex and Nova Launchers both allow you to because that's how I did it

Look up Widgetsoid. It's what I used to change icons until I realized I could change icons within Apex.
could you use Ninjamorph
I haven't jumped to the ics leak yet but couldn't you use ninjamorph (for the market) to swap out the png's? I've done it hundreds of times in Gingerbread on my DX (haven't had enough time to fiddle with my Skyrocket yet other than freezing some bloat)
There are PNG files all over the place, systemui, framework, specific apk's, probably framework-tw. Its a labor job to switch them all out manually.
Can someone point me to which apk I should be editing for the stock TW icons on the launcher like camera/gallery/web/mail etc.. those are really the only ones I wish to edit. I have Ninjamorph and seems to be working I just need to know the location of these files. I.E ic_launcher_smsmms.png ic_launcher_phone.png

Correct. There are actually several GB launchers on the market. I use the one by Eugene because it is almost pure stock GB launcher. The other ones have modified app drawers and other things. The only mod I've seen in the Eugene version is the notifications icon in the options menu. It's a smiley face instead of a slightly square balloon.
There is also a Honeycomb launcher available.
Is this possible? I searched and the only thing I really came across was that supposedly you can using ADW launcher. I'd rather not. Apex for me.
To my understanding you could always extract the image files from the apps u want smaller Icons for, shrink the in Photoshop or a program like it, put it in your gallery or whatever then change the icon of the app with apex...done this several times just with simple text icons rather than shrinking stock icons

ROM: CM9
i would like to ask if there is possibility to remove icon background of apps icon.
for easy understanding, please refer to the image below.
i would like to remove the white background on that facebook icon.
is there any possible way?
Im running 2.3.4 GB
Iphone 4s Clone (fruitphone?) Mtk6573
thanks!
this depends on where the background comes from. sometimes it's just an icon theme in the launcher. so you could just try to use a different theme or launcher.
but sometimes it's also in the rom. when there's no setting for themes/icons you have to search for a custom rom / mod with different icons or a setting to change them.
That's a launcher issue, to help make the iphone clone appear more like an iphone.
Just download a new launcher

You mean... if you install go launcher or adw or holo launcher, it doesn't give you an option to use that as the default?
The homescreen is a launcher, just the system launcher

Hello all,
New Galaxy S2 user here. Coming from a line of exclusively HTC Sense phones and ROMs.
I'm wondering if it's possible (and easy) to change the icons for default apps in CM9 or TW based ROMs? Specifically the "Messaging" icon - I hate the "smiley" face. Makes me feel 12 years old again.
I've done a few searches, but I'm not looking to replace the entire icon set or the ROM or theme... just one icon.

The hard way is to download the apk, open it up, replace the images with the ones you want, repackage it, and reinstall it. The easy way is to use a launcher that allows you to change the icon. I know Apex and Nova do, not sure about any others.

Also check out "Desktop Visualizer" in the market .
But as already mentioned ....the different launchers are the best & easiest way.
Holo launcher is another one.
Good Luck.

Go Launcher as well. Go, Nova, and Apex have the ability to use icon sets made for each other.
Hmmm... going to an entirely different launcher seems like overkill, but I guess if it works...
There used to be apps on the Market that would allow you to create shortcuts with different icons (BetterCut comes to mind, but the dev pulled it from the Market entirely).
If you don't want a new launcher, try Desktop Visualizer (though I have yet to figure out how to get it to use an existing icon pack). There are a lot of options in it and it's a great program.

Nova launcher is a good alternative, can use icon packs and can be setup to look the same as google launcher

So, I really like Grace UX, yet you can't get it by theme. So I am looking for a TouchWiz launcher that is able to change icon packs. I'm a bit picky so it would have to be pretty much exactly like stock. Any help please??
If anyone knows a way to get it another way, that would be great as well!

Launcher doen not include icons, so launcher doesn't mean anything, 50% of what you want are icons, and you can change them on stock launcher only by recompiling apk, putting certain icon in it, resign it and put it in system app or priv app folder woth correct permissions.
