Does anyone know of a video player that has all of these features?
Swipe left/right to rewind/fast forward by 10 seconds (or at least persistent buttons for each).
Allow playing in portrait mode.
Save bookmark position of video automatically even after closing the app.
- The default ICS video player doesn't have any seeking functionality at all; neither swipe nor even on-screen buttons.
- QuickPic's video player doesn't save the location of the video.
- And Mobo Player's seeking buttons completely disappear in portrait; very annoying.
Does anyone know of an app that has these 3 features?
Try MX Video Player

afair MX Player should satisfy all 3 criteria, you can set custom swiping length, set the screen orientation (auto, landscape, portrait, sensor landscape) and it does remember the position

I have some videos extracted from some old VCDs that are bilingual. They did this by making the left speaker speak 1 language and the right speaker speak the other. The idea is that when you play the vcd you turn off one of the speakers and just listen to the language you want. I'm having trouble trying to do this on the eee pad transformer, does anyone know of any media player that allows me to adjust the left/right sound balance? Or maybe it's a sound app that will allow this or settings in honeycomb that I'm just not finding?
Thanks in advance.
mobo player actually allows this.
i think playerpro also does when you install the equalizer plugin.
maybe also poweramp too.

I use moboplayer, got it from the app store, I can not find the option for changing left/right balance though. Can you tell me where it is?
Thanks.
sorry its not the balance in mobo. tap the screen durimg playbcak and then click the 3 dots button. then you can turn off the left or right channels. try playerpro or poweramp, they both have equalisers.
I'm sorry, I feel like such an idiot asking so many questions. I'm in the middle of playback, but when I tap the screen, i don't get the 3 dots to pop up. I see a button for aspect ratio, rewind, pause/play, fast forward and that's it, I don't see anything that would otherwise bring up any sort of settings menu.
When I open moboplayer and am browsing the media files, I see the 3 dots which opens up a menu that includes "Background, playlist, setting, and help us". Inside settings, i don't see any options that allow me to turn off the left or right channels
Thanks for all your help.

MX Player does a tremendous job of locking the application - it is not possible to expand the notification bar, nor is it possible to press the navigation item.
This thread covers a lot of the basics, but it is not nearly as good as MX Player.
A demonstration:
How does MX Player achieve this?
Good question. I assume you mean more of a lock than Android 4.4's "Immersive Mode", ie the actual MX "Lock" feature. @bleu8888 is the main developer, so he could answer this.
PS: Your picture does not show.
Yeah exactly. The immersive mode does not lock the app, as you can swipe from top to bottom to get to the notification bar.
I've linked to a youtube url in the OP, here is the full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH0HXP-Z4z4
This will make it clear
It would be great if @bleu8888 could shed some light on this.
Bump
I don't know if I have used the correct terms here -- please forgive the ignorance.
While playing each video with MX Player on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, is it possible to display the FILE NAME--maybe at the bottom of the screen--either "briefly" (maybe for a few seconds, then fade-out) or even "permanently" (always visible while watching the entire video)?
I am asking, because I use VCL media player on my desktop PC--and that ap does 'briefly' show the file name at the bottom as a subtitle-sort-of-thing, each time a new track starts -- then it fades away.
What are the options for MX Player?
Thanks for anybody's help!
I'm hoping for the same thing. Maybe an option to not show/show at beginning of playback/show all the time. Currently to view the file name, I need to click/touch the screen, which also brings up all the controls, menu bar, taskbar. If it was tied in with the battery/clock.playback time settings, it would help a lot.
To navigate to next/previous subtitles I need to swipe right/left, then subtitles are animated to next/previous subtitles.
This swiping and animation of subtitles takes time (around 1~2 seconds) for each navigation we need to make.
How about a new suggested gesture to be just a single tap on the left/right side of the subtitles, and then instantaneously (without any delay for performing animations) the next/previous subtitles are switched to. This will provide much much more faster subtitles navigation.
It will be helpful to make a new option available for the user to choose whether enable/disable the new suggested subtitles navigation gesture/scenario.

It is also possible with media utilities (beta) and tasker. Media utilities downloads automatically the cover of the song played by your player (spotify, samsung, ...you choose). Tasker, with a bit of work on trigger event, changes lockscreen wallpaper according to the new cover.
