Nvflash no longer works - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'm not sure what happened, but nvflash no longer works. When i start it (or click the nvflash.exe), a black command prompt window pops up for a split second, and nothing else happens. I can't make out what it's saying. I've redownloaded it too, but i get the same result. Any ideas?

Reflashed cwm yesterday and had no issues. Follow the directions in thus thread

Same here did it this morning at 4 A.M. and had no issues.

You don't click the .exe of nvflash. You have to sun it via the command prompt... and yes it does still work.

One more confirming. Just use it on 2.3.4. Works perfect.
XDA Mobile

You are running the wrong file or your driver isn't installed correctly.

Maybe because you should be running "OneClickRecoveryFlasher.exe" and not "nvflash.exe".

Or it might be your OS.
Had a problem with that a long time ago my OS Win7 was a rotting pool of so many drivers and apps, running the dam thing as Admin didn't work.
I ended up using another machine and worked just fine. Might be your OS. But I haven't updated nor touched my G2X's NVFlash in over a year, when the last July 2011 BB came out.

windows not recognizing phone

Ok so I'm not sure what happened here, but my laptop wont recognize my phone. I have windows 7 and the phone is currently running octane. I originally had used odin to set the phone up with the proper boot loaders a while back then used cwm to flash ravers octane. I wanted to go back to stock using the official kj6 that raver posted through odin. When ever i hook the phone in to the laptop it says usb device not recognized. Any ideas or ways to fix this? I tried uninstalling and installing the sgs4g drivers again with no luck.
shut off..when u go into dl mode Odin should get it..don't worry about it while it's on...I did that for an hour last week...with octane

odin still isn't catching it
http://tinyurl.com/KiesMini1
Download and install Kies Mini
So I just went ahead and downloaded the cwm ver that raver posted. moved it to root folder of sd card and flashed that copy instead. Even now that i'm stock the laptop won't recognize my phone so weird. Any other ideas?

If it recognized it before, make sure you're plugging it back into the same USB port you previously used. Also make sure the drivers are installed. If they're acting buggy, uninstall them and reinstall them. Downloading and installing Kies Mini (link provided by FB) would insure you get the right drivers installed.
Every time you flash a new Rom, it will probably do that. It depends on your computer. Once you uninstall the drivers, try to run ccleaner from piriform to clean out the registry. Reboot the computer. Then reinstall the drivers using the files from the Bible.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Yeah I tried UN and reinstalling the drivers I had gotten them from the Bible. I will try ccleaner and see what happens. Also I tried all USB Ports. Thanx for all your ideas I will post if ccleaner works or not

Ok so i deleted the samsung drivers. used ccleaner to to fix the registry and then restarted the computer. installed the drivers and the computer will still not recognize the phone. any other ideas?
Have you tried/can you try it on a different computer?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Plug your phone into your computer. Then go into your control panel and under Admin tools open computer managment. click on the device manager extension and find the device/s with the yellow exclamation point. right click and select uninstall. then unplug your phone and install the drivers from the SGS4G Bible and then plug your phone back in and it should work.
I forgot to mention my wife has this phone to stock never touched and my laptop registers gets just fine. When I plug mine in it says
USB device not recognized. And under some other options it says windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. I will try these suggestions though

if you have one phone that works on your laptop but another that doesn't then it would actually be your phone not your computer. I know windows far better than I do phones, sorry
yeah i'm deff thinking its the phone butderin what would cause this. thats what i'm wondering.

Short of a factory data reset (which you'll want to do before sending it in for repair, anyway), I don't know. It's weird that it worked until you flashed a ROM.
I know its crazy, kind of blows if I brick my phone i'm done deal lol.

Cant seem to root, someone pm and help me

I've tried the new supertool v3 and the aahk hack and it doesnt seem to do anything. It might be my computers fault cause it keeps giving me weird errors like my usb device has malfuctioned or windows doesnt recognize it. I'm lot and would like some assistance if someone could help
thanks,
mike
finally figured out it was my other computer so i moved to a different computer and am using the supertool hack and i prepped it like it said and it seemed to do something, then i went to #3 cause it says attempt perm root so i clicked that and it seemed to be doing something and then flashed at me and said rooted! and my phone turned white and i had 4 option like bootloader, reboot, reboot botloader, and something else i forgot. I'm not sure what i should do from here so i clicked just bootloader and it took me to a different screen then i just restarted it and i downloaded terminal emulator and typed in su to see if it was rooted and it wasnt. I'm confused once my screen turns white and asks me what to do
By "Supertool", do you mean Bubby's root method?
Idk who its from, but i got it from this website and its called htc supertool and says it works on almost every htc phone
No he mean the HTC supertool from the general android section. Use the Ace hack kit. It is the only proven way that I know of. We have all used it at one time or another and as long as you read the manual you will be fine.
This maybe a little exaggerated, but you may download Ubuntu and run from a USB drive for example and run aahk from there...

It's not recommended to run from a USB drive. Use a live CD instead. (It's in the effen manual for aahk).
You can install the live CD in a usb with unebooting, that's what I mean

lol what are you saying? The Hack Kit is the best way to go. The OP has been instructed to use this tool and if he still runs into a problem, the OP should re-read the the first post in the hack kit thread and the manual to be sure he/she didn't miss a thing. If problems still persist I believe the IRC chatroom is still in service.
I should stop writing short replies, I mean you can install the live CD in the USB with unebooting or other tool, from there use the aahk

[Q] Getting my hands on a bricked g2x today....

he said he bricked it trying to upgrade to ICS.
is the sticky at the top still the way to unbrick it? i noticed that a couple links were dead in the first post. granted i didn't go through all 17 pages, just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything newer then whats already been posted.
edit: he did say that the screen is showing s/w if that matters
Was it bricked by flashing a o2x rom? I think that may be the hardest brick I have heard of but still fixable. I believe if that is the case than following the sticky should restore the baseband and everything else.
Honestly though I would first try just reflashing CWM via nvflash, boot into recovery and load a stable GB rom. If that works, great.

You apparently you did not even read the first post. XP only, will not work with Windows 7.
"As many have stated, pushing the v21E_00.kdz via the KDZ_FW_UPD program does work. It's just touchy.
This is a step by step guide to get you back in to working shape.
Note: You MUST do this via a PC running Windows XP. Running Vista/7 in compatibility mode is not going to work, period.
Edit: As an alternative, a virtual environment running XP will do the job. Those steps are up to you."
That's not true. I updated the baseband using win7 on my first try. No need for comparability mode.

Can confirm that too. Was working fine on 32 bit win7, using the method from the stickies upgrading wind's June baseband.

duple and lurker, thanks for the confirmation that it works with 7
when i try and push the kdz i get the dreaded phone not found.
ok im on my xp machine here at work and heres what i got:
Part 1: Download the files you will need below.
V21E_00.kdz
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-06-16.rar
LG USB Drivers G2x
Part 2:
1) Install the LG G2x USB drivers to your WinXP machine.
2) Extract the entire contents of the One-Click recovery in to a folder and keep it handy.
3) Remove the battery from the phone. Hold both volume buttons and plug in the USB cable. If you are asked for a driver, look in the APX folder where you extracted the One-Click recovery archive.
4) Run OneClickRecoveryFlasher.exe and flash the stock recovery. Wait for the process to finish and close all windows and unplug the phone.
no problems with above steps. after that nothing works. when i put the battery back in and turn on thats when i get the flashing black screen, not back to the s/w screen.
5) Put the battery back into the phone and turn it on. You will be back at the S/W Upgrade screen. This is where you want to be! Now plug the USB cable back in to the phone. If everything is up to snuff you should have no driver problems at this point.
6) Extract KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.7z in to a folder. Inside is a msxml.msi. You need to run and install this first!
7) Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe.. Leave the type set to CDMA and the phone mode set to DIAG. DO NOT CLICK ON "Read phone information"
8) Click the folder icon and load the V21E_00.kdz
9) Click launch software update (and pray!)
ok just for craps and giggles i tried booting into recovery and actually got the box with arrow and android! but it then reboots back to the lg screen and then flashing black screen
WOOT! finally able to get into CWM recovery!
is all that needs to be done now is install a stable rom?
double WOOT! back up and running. time to test the functionality of if though!
edit: can't find the sim and no service.

wifi seems to be flaky. keeps scanning and dropping work and home network
also it appears that the market wasn't on that version of the rom. is that a quick fix?
Now you have the recovery and baseband sorted, start from scratch and do a full wipe(including system internal/external SD). Then flash a stable ROM Weapon/EB to make sure everything is good. Just my 2 cents

You were lucky, indeed!
A CM nightly can be stable too, however I would flash either Weapon or Eagles Blood for a couple of days to have a piece of mind that everything is working cool. The most important would be a proper full wipe (cache, dalvik, system under mounts and storage, battery stats and imho internal and external SD too) too get rid of the previous mess caused by the unsuccessful flash, etc.

Can't access the settings section of my Atrix 2

So I've been reading the noob guide all day (To which, literally nothing in it has worked for me, I just want to get my phone onto ICS) and in the process of attempting to start over, I launch my phone into AP fastboot and it always says Flash Failure, RSD Lite doesn't recognize the phone other than being connected, and when I boot back into my phone normally, I can't even get to the settings section, it just gives me an error

And are you currently on the ics leak?
Need to know these things to help ya.
But don't fret, this is fixable.

I'm going to sound like a total tool, but I actually figured out what I was doing wrong, I forgot to patch my FXZ file so it just kept messing up everytime. Once I did that everything went flawlessly
my next issue to tackle is to understand how bootmenu works and how I "reboot" into it
otherwise I guess this topic is pointless/can be closed

[Q] Superoneclick (all versions) causing HDD to run at 100% (window 8)

I am trying to root my G2x running 2.2.2 so I can use my computer to control it while I wait for a digitizer replacement. I have downloaded android SDK manager, Android Screencast, and multiple versions of superoneclick.
Now everything has gone according to plan, until I try to open superoneclick. at first the computer acts as it would normally when it opens a program. but the program never opens. So after a minute or so my computer was operating at a snails pace. so i opened task manager and my HDD was running at 100% which is obviously bad, considering my computer usually operates under 20%.
The instant I end the superoneclick task, my HDD drops back down to normal. And this happens every time I try to run superoneclick.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before, and if there is a solution or if im doing something wrong.
As far as i know the only way to root this phone is to flash a rooted rom via clockworkmod which needs to be installed via NVFlash.

It's just the touch function, the bottom inch of screen works. and the top centimeter or so works, but the middle of the screen has no touch function. the phones in great cosmetic condition, but something happened and the charge flex cable died so i replaced that. But when it booted up for the first time in a year or so that section of the touch screen I mentioned didnt work. Oh, and I know me replacing the flex cable didnt cause the screen to go out because it was like that before.
The new digitizer should be in tomorrow. And i'm about to try what you suggested, and then ill come back and report. Thank you.
I rooted my phone by flashing cwm via nvflash and then flashed a g2x root.zip file. The zip file can be found in one of the stickies, if you can't find it and want it let me know and ill get it to you
