I had a droid x2 and broke it. Now i just bought a droid charge from a buddy, but he said it's rooted and i need to get a SIM card. but told me not to take the phone with me, so i didn't, but they wont give me a sim card without the phone, I honestly dont know what i'm doing when it comes to rooting and unrooting, so the easiest explanation possible would be greatly appreciated, i looked at other threads, but i can't follow them. i just need this phone to work, and unrooted. help?!
Never mind...sorry

i have friends that have asked me to help them root their phones. they have the original moto droid droid eris and incredible. i see people rooting these phones by booting the phone to recovery mode and loading an update. i then see them going through the setup again like they just unboxed their phone. does this mean that it wiped all the data off of the phone or does it keep all data intact like contacts etc? i have the droid x and rooted mine while the phone was on using one click root. also is their a good program out their that makes an image of the phone so if something gets jacked or deleted you can just restore everything back to the phone before root? thanks in advance and sorry bout the noob questions.
So I rooted my droid 2 using the guide on this website. I then (Being an idiot) didnt read to not uninstall the Backup Assistant and did infact uninstall it. Then my phone started overheating, I panicked, threw it back to factory settings and kinda bricked it. Called verizon and got a replacement but would like to get it back to basics before sending it back. I read some of the tutorials to getting it back to stock but couldnt really get any to work. When doing the bootloader, sbf method, my computer doesnt detect the phone in bootloader mode. I am going to send the phone in either way (If they charge me it was my own fault nothing I can do about that) but would rather not pay.
So 1. Is there any stock 2.2 Droid 2 sbf available
2. Anyway I can get my phone connected, what am I missing, is it possible to connect to pc with Droid 2 in bootloader.
3. Can I just use the 2.0.1.sbf and then update to 2.2?
I am sure I have more questions but I will let you guys answer these first.
Also, is there anyway I can get BackupAssistant back in my system folder so that I can do a factory restore without bricking it?
Thanks in advance guys!
Also is there anywhere on the web that I can download the Backup Assistant to reinstall it on my phone?

Hey guys i have just sent in my htc hero for repair and won't be back for a whlie and im sure most of you know how slow and sluggish the hero is stock. Im dying to have a faster phone, so what do you guys think i should do? root the loaner phone? can i unroot easily? If so can you provide me with directions on how to do this?
Personally, I would leave it alone. You don't want any issues with the phone not being returned in the same condition you got it in.
That being said, if you must have root on a temporary device, try using z4root, and use the Temporary Root option.

Hey everyone, let me first say that if this isn't in the correct area of the forum, my sincere apologies. Now onto the main question. So, awhile back I rooted my Samsung Replenish because a good friend of mine recommended that I do so. I really enjoyed it at first, but now I'm starting to have the worry of possibly getting caught by my provider. That, or I have to take the phone in for maintenance and they deny me service because it's rooted. So, my basic question really is how do I unroot root my Replenish? I spoke to someone and they told me to flash it back to the stock ROM. But I have no idea how to do that. Thank so much guys, I really appreciate it.
Just flashing back to stock does not actually unroot it. You should probably check under the forum created for your phone for a quide in how to unroot it.
I can't seem to find the thread for the Samsung Replenish.
I'm not sure what it should be but you might need to use a codename of some sort for the thread. If there indeed is no threat there should be a post somewhere around the forums which tells a rooting method also works for your phone. It's not unlikely your phone shares a bootloader with another samsung phone
I'm an extreme noob when it comes to this sort of thing, so if someone could please help guide me through this, it'd be very appreciated. My phone is acting up so I have to take it in. So the sooner it's unrooted, the better.
when i boot up my phone it goes to safestrap, but i want it to go back to stock like none of this rooting BS ever happened.... i rooted the phone, then downloaded safestrap, then i deleted the root and unrooted, and wiped ALL data from my phone, and now my phone wont even boot up to home screen... i think its bricked... please help... im honestly thinking about just giving up and buying a new phone... ive researched how to fix it for 14 STRAIGHT hours... seriously... i wouldn't lie about this... if anyone can help me... i need assistance, like full blown assistance. if you could give me your email or a way to contact you you have no idea how appreciative i would be. i just want my phone back... im seriously diying... im being serious. i WILL PAY YOU SOMEHOW if you get my phone back and help me... i am in dire need for help...
