I registered to HTCDEV.com yesterday and I'm still waiting for the email, I've registered with 2 different emails, yes I've checked my spam filters. How long can this take?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
mine took few minutes, but i seem other took longer
Don't wait. Make a new email and a new account and have them send it to it. I had to go through 3 different emails before any received it, but the account that did receive it received it instantly. The other accounts still haven't received anything and it's been a few days.

My phone is always asking me to link my contacts to their fbs/twitters etc but I already pressed each and everyone to link them. If I "link" them again they will unlink and ask me 5 minutes later to link them AGAIN. Is there any fix for this? This is getting annoying plus my contact's facebook pictures doesn't show up. -___-
bump? anyone?
mine did this for two days straight. Doing it again now only cuz I wiped for a new rom.
I started to get the link account last week. I had the phone since day one. I think that happened Last week when I finally activated yahoo messenger.

Note: This is issue for the AT&T One X! Some users have said the Rodgers model is also affected.
Okay. As a previous iPhone user, email is very important to me. I was so close to returning to my precious 4S, it made me want to cry! 4.7" to 3.5" is a HUGE difference!
However, before returning the phone, I decided to give it one more try.
To keep it short, we all know for a fact that the HTC One X has serious issues with Push Email delays. If you use the stock Mail or Gmail app, push emails have been randomly delayed anywhere from a few minutes to as much as hours later! For business this is unacceptable!
I have confirmed no matter how you configure your exchange email, it was always delayed.
So solve this, I decided to go ahead and load the stock ICS Email app. Wow! All of my email delays are gone! I've done MANY tests from random email accounts and I got them all instantly! I sat my 4S and One X next to each other, and bam! I got all of my emails on time! I definitely recommend this app for now until HTC fixes this issue. Hell, this might just be a permanent solution for me
Please know, you will need root for this!
To install the Stock ICS Email app:
1. Turn off Fast Boot! Root your phone! Reboot!
2. Optional: Disable Mail and Gmail app. Reboot!
3. Remove your accounts you will use from Mail or Gmail app to avoid conflicts with new Email app.
4. Install ES File Explorer and under Root settings, enable Root Explorer and Mount File System.
5. Download both attached EmailGoogle.apk and ExchangeGoogle.apk
6. Drop them into the System/App folder and reboot!
7. Setup your Exchange accounts in Email and enjoy true PUSH EMAIL!
Recommend: I setup my Gmail as a Microsoft Exchange Account. Username is your email. Domain leave blank. Server is m.google.com

K-9 doesn't work. This isn't an app issue, it's some kind of service-layer problem, where the apps aren't triggering properly... or something.
*edit*
This seems to be working!
Now... how do you change the Exchange notification sound??? I can barely hear this little blip.

We can pretty much all agree there is something wrong, but we don't know what. I know as of right now, the stock ICS email app is working 100% flawlessly for me.

K9 is working fine here . No delay with push mails or anything else on the HTC One X Tegra device.
I have 4 accounts and get all mails in time.

K-9 isn't working for me, nor are any other mail apps.
What's the deal? Is this something that's primarily affecting AT&T phones? Or all HOXs models?

Not here. HTC stock mail app is working like it should but I like K9 more.
Maybe there is something wrong with the Qualcomm devices but at my Tegra device everything is fine.

I'm wondering if it's this. It seems many more of the ATT/Krait users are having trouble. Not sure if that in itself has anything to do with it (CPU powering down too low to sleep or something..?)
This new fix does seems to make a difference though. I don't know enough about Android software to figure why, but is is possible that installing to root allows the app to escape some kind of garbage collect that Sense is doing and messing things up..??
I've got the AT&T One X and foind that the stock email was somewhat delayed, the gmail worked fine for push and I'm on K9 and it's really fast. No issues, I happen to like the stock UI over K9s, put I want push.
I'm not sure if everyone understands, but the main point is that the stock apps are having issues with Push Email randomly.
It looks like all 3rd party apps are working 100%. So it looks like it's confirmed to be a bug/glitch in the OS.
Also, this is the AT&T One X forum. We are not discussing issues about the international HTC One X...
But it also pretty much confirms that it is a bug/glitch with the AT&T rom since the international HTC One X and the Asia rom works 100%.
Minor update, I am going on 4 days and my Push Email has been working 100%!
why are there 2 apps? is one of them gmail, one of them regular email? or do you need both of those apk's for your exchange email accounts?

They are both needed for the Email app.
The Exchange apk adds Exchange to it.
EmailGoogle.apk = ICS Email App - Base only has IMAP and POP3
ExchangeEmail.apk = Needed for Exchange to work.
Both apk's are from the stock ICS 4.0.4 rom.
certainly worth a shot... my work emails were anywhere from 5 - 60 seconds late, and my gmail, even when set up as an exchange account, sometimes never came.
got this set up, froze the HTC mail app - we'll see how it works when the emails start pouring in tomorrow.

5-60 seconds isn't bad though?
We have been getting delays ranging from a few minutes to a few hours and some don't even come in!
never said it was bad. it just wasn't true "push" email.
wheres the system app folder
nvm.. havent used android in years lol
How come when I turn my phone off, people I have been texting will receive messages from me that they have already sent? Sometimes it will be 15 messages at a time. And they aren't messages that werwnt sent before because they come up as sent on my phone and the person also receives them. It typically happens when I turn my phone off, and the people I text the most will receive the most messages. Any ideas? And how can I fix it?

What network are you on, are you rooted, and are you using a particular ROM?
Has this always happened?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
I'm on T-Mobile, and no I am not rooted and not on a custom Rom. Im not exactly sure if it has been happening since I got the phone but it has been happening for a good amount of time now

Do you receive notification that the duplicate messages have been sent? Or can you see the message duplicates from your sent messages (seeing the same message more than once)? Finally, are the messages duplicating the same message, or a series of different messages?
Edit: I would call T-Mobile and have them perform an over the air activation to re-establish your tower connection completely. If that doesnt work then have tech support file a ticket. It sounds like your messages are getting "stuck" on the network. Since tickets take 2-3 days to resolve, go ahead and get it started. I dealt with this a lot at my previous job (AT&T), mostly with MMS though.

Hi, I'm bringing this thread back to life because my girlfriends phone is doing the exact same thing. cmrn89, did Biohazard0289's suggestion fix the issue?
Thanks.
I sold my note 3 yesterday and bought a nexus 5.
In the stock contact app I don't see pictures on the contacts.
On Samsung n HTC it use to merge FB and wapp pics and show as contact pics.
Is there a way to do it here? I've got the fb account set up and it's working.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
You need an app to do it, e.g. Haxsync:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync
Stock Android doesn't have the option to sync with Facebook contacts
HaxSync is blocked by Facebook at the moment. SyncMe is the better option. Its improved a lot recently.
I paid the money and it didn't work..luckily the refund option was still available.. Thank you.. I'll try that

Ah ok...
I may start using it again for birthdays then. Although Sync ME does seem better at the moment...
I would use it but it leaves an icon in my app drawer whereas Haxsync doesn't
Just got sync me..so far looks good n its free... N somehow the haxsync didn't work in the morning

Sometimes have to allow Haxsync to sync a few times at first, depends on how many contacts you have to sync (I only have 56 contacts on my phone). Personally, it's the best app I've used, been using it on my old phones (GNex, Nexus 4) and now my Nexus 5

Looks like a bug according to this OPO thread
Import your contacts than you should be able to sync them to your Google account.

You'd be best to sync them to to your gmail account.
