[Q] Xperia mini pro (sk17i) hardware keyboard language - General Questions and Answers

A couple of days ago i chose to root my SE Xperia Mini Pro SK17i. To do this i had to downgrade the firmware of my phone, and couldn't find any other available firmware than the global version. My problem is now that the language on the push-out keyboard is set to the global language. The phone i have is a scandinavian version (danish), which means the keys are all wrong. Is there any way to change the language of the slide keyboard or would i have to remove the current firmware and install the standard one?

Since u already root it, u might try upgrading setup/hw keyboard layout + allesando cm7 keyboard... not sure if it will work properly on stock ROM still, do it at ur own risk. Nevertheless, it is connected to hw keyboard layout definitions, focus on upgrading those.

[Q][ICS] Asus keyboard question

// Quick note to modos, yes, I did search extensively, I found many posts saying it doesn't work.. //
I use a french (yes, sorry, I'm french and I'm not named Dujardin) version of the ee pad. And of course I got the dock as well, with an Azerty keyboard (stupid frogs could not use qwerty like everybody else).
I've tried EOS ICS build, and there is no Asus Keyboard, so I'm stuck to remembering A will bring Q and Q will bring A.
Is there an ICS rom build with a working multilanguage dock keyboard ? Or some tweak I can apply to my current EOS build?
I'm sure I saw a key remap mod in here somewhere. There is definitely one in the desire z section that may be android generic.
Ps. Before someone has a moan, please use the Q & A section for this type of thing

Sorry but this guide refers to android 3.x, not ICS. ;-)
Furthermore, the question points that EOS rom lacks the azerty keyboard. This does not solves the problem out of the box, since this rom does not contain the original asus (soft) keyboard at all.
But, it is still relevant since extracting the file qwerty-xx_XX.kcm from some backup would enable to perform the same operation. ;-)
Otherwise, I assume that any rom having the "asus keyboard" would have the correct layout.
Nope
Currently, I didn't manage to get the "guide" work with ICS using the keychar from Honeycomb.
But there is this thread that provides Russian and German layout for the dock in ICS:

Thanks. I guess we'll have to wait. I can do without french keys for now.
Hi,
currently, Ivan Volosyuk has managed to provide an app which inputs the kcm and changes the layout.

It should be working.

[Q] SE X10 Mini Pro and CyanoCream Sandwich ROM

I have CyanoCream Sandwich ROM installed on my X10 Mini Pro, and I have some bugs, that is really annoying:
1. Camera is too laggy in video mode (I tried all settings).
2. In other ROMs I had change hard keyboard lang by pressing "Sym" button. In this ROM this button does nothing. But I can change lang in software keyboard. But I need to shut hard keys every time to do this.
3. Some checkboxes aren't working ("Back button ends call", "Disable Camera Shutter Sound").
I installed CyanoCream over MiniCM7Pro, stock kernel.
I read all thread of CyanoCream, but didn't find any answers for my questions above. What I did wrong? Maybe, I have to flash CyanoCream only over stock SE ROM? Not over other custom ROMs? Or maybe I missed something else?
P.S. - I followed of all instructions carefully.
try a new rom, i have unlocked bootloader, naa kernel11 and cyanogen mod7, and it's exelent
May I install CyanogenMod for Xperia Mini Pro on my X10 Mini Pro? Or I need to search only "ports" for my model?
P.S. - I tried MiniCM7Pro (link above) before, and animations in menus wasn't smooth. And all icons were very small and blury. CyanoCream has very smooth animations and nice icons. But bugs... (((
no you must use port for your phone only

International keyboard (chinese) on TMOUS ICS

Not sure if anyone can help me with this, but I am just wondering is there a way to install the actual official keyboard entry (for chinese / asian languages). It seems the tmobile version of the ICS update do not include these languages...I can install a 3rd party keyboard to do it, but I've used custom ROMS with the native keyboard that can be change to that...(like insertcoin)...wonder if there's a way to add that or is it part of the ROM

Hebrew Samsung Keyboard

Can someone please tell me where can I get the Hebrew Samsung Keyboard for the Note 10.1?
I got it from amazon but last week the Note was released in Israel so there must be a Hebrew keyboard somewhere.
I could not find any Israeli roms for n8000 on sammobile.com.
Thank you for the help.
I know you can change the system language to hebrew in the settings, as for the keyboard, I dont see it. You can get a different keyboard from the market, i reccomend anysoft keyboard or swiftkey x, they are both very good and support hebrew.

What makes you think this is development?
thank you
yes I know I am using swiftkey and I love it but I would like to have the clipboard and the spen writing option. The Hebrew "system langue" is very unstable.
anyway thanks for the effort.
Hi Shaitoni,
I bought my device from Samsung Israel and it came with the Hebrew Samsung keyboard and stable system.
Unfortunately, i couldn't make calls (they blocked it cause of import tax issue) and it didn't recognize 64GB micro sd i bought.
So i've installed an official firmware and all problems were gone but i can't find also this original Hebrew keyboard.
I found the last firmware (4.1.1 N8000XXBLJ9 N8000OXABLJ9) to be almost stable, except for Task Manager (download task killer) and Samsung Apps (who wants it??).
What i did was to install CWM recovery, then this firmware, then root it with super user permissions.
After that i downloaded from google play "language enabler" because the Hebrew was hidden and swift key for Hebrew.
I can go and ask them to install back their official firmware but i don't think it's worth it and maybe someone will put it on the net, i don't understand why it's not embedded in the os like in Apple ios.
Too bad i didn't copy the original rom before upgrading it, but 4.1.1 is much better the ICS.
Regards
If u want a hebrew keyboard u can flash this rom

Thanks, i think it's the only ROM i didn't try
Anyway, i found this ROM a little bit laggy and the Hebrew keyboard doesn't turn your handwrite into text (like the one i had when i bought it).
So i decided to install back the official stock and just root it, until something better will show up.

[Q] Sony Xperia Mini Pro (U20i) + CM10-4.1.0-20131231-mimmi ROM : French kbd?

Hello.
I have installed the latest U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06 kernel, then the ROM (CM10-4.1.0-20131231-UNOFFICIAL-mimmi.zip), all went well except that I can't input all characters I need. The device has a physical keyboard that works perfectly with the latest CM7 official ROM issued for it, so I'd like to know if there is a way for me to get it working too on CM10? I tried the azerty.zip file provided in the dev forum for my device, but it didn't solve my issue.
Thanks.
