Not the Xfinity TV app, but the new Xfinity TV player app.
I have an Acer iconic A100. Comcast says it works. Google says it should work and they have no idea why the Play store says it is incompatible. So I am trying to get the apk to side load.
I have it on my Evo 3d and it works great on it. But I want the larger screen.
I would also like this too, as I live in the uk and have a us proxy and am using a family members account from the usa.
My Xfinity Play app asks for superuser permissions at start up. Fyi. Anyone know why?

does anyone know if anyone is working on a hulu fix or app for the droid x. I know that the droid incredible has a hulu flash fix and app for there phone. Im just wondering if anyone has heard anything or know of a fix.
When I was on Windows Mobile I used skyfire browser to view the hulu site. It worked great. I haven't tried it on android though, but you may want to see if it works.
I cant get Hulu to show videos on any browser I use on my DroidX..
all say that the video cant be displayed on a mobile device or some garbage like that.
Try bitbop.com, they just released their Android app today to watch tv shows on your phone streaming or download. It is $9.99 a month after the trial, but you have to pay for hulu mobile on iPhone also. The content isn't quite as good as hulu yet, but they are more focused on mobile so it should catch up.
try this
I assume no one is working on a Hulu app but i found a awesome site that you can watch live tv like HBO, TBS, and so on right in the browser, here is the link.

Wow, this works very well.
I understand the Logitech Revue runs Android, it has a Netflix app installed. Would it be possible to pull out the Netflix apk and try it on the Evo?
hmmm.... posting to check later. This could be interesting.
I sure wish that it did, hope to hear something.
No. The Netflix app for the Revue is most likely a shortcut link to the actual Netflix website/player. They already brought this up in another thread before and I remember reading that this was the reason why it wouldn't work.

When trying to play movies on the revue from the website it simply fails. The app opens a gallery type view of your queue. It just seems like more of an app than a link. It also has it's own GUI for things like pause ffwd rwnd etc...

Also netflix runs silverlight, I really doubt microsoft whipped up a special version of it just for google tv.
It might be a link in the sense of how skyfire runs flash. They process the flash on their servers and stream it to the phone as a mp4.
GoogleTV rocks. My 2 year old son runs it like its a toy! But I doubt until we get root that anything of this nature can be attempted. We do not even have access to market yet
when i go to watch netflix movies on my gtab the website lets me click on the movie but wont play it. it does it on certain websites too to watch videos. any suggestions?
Netflix is using the Microsoft Silverlight plugin to play the movies in a browser. This is not available for Android.
Playon is supposed to be released for Andriod ..... it plays netflix ....that seems to be the closest, soon to be viable option
Android app supposed to come this century. Hopefully that will help our streaming woes.

If they ever do it that would be nice. I have Playon loaded on my server and using an app called upnplay I can access Playon, but so far have not been able to play anything. It tries, and then quits.

Hey man just use ice films (WWW.icefilms.info) , similar to Netflix. If u have cookies enabled u can save the shows/movies you want to see by clicking on the yellow star next to the title. I wrote a how to guide for it. I can't post links yet but I just wrote it yesterday. The thread is called, How to get icefilms to work on the g tab.
Hope this helps ya out.
Hi everyone I hope there is a wizard on here that can help me!
My predicament is this,
I have a minix neo x5 which is a Android Tv Box which connects up to the tv through the HDMI Port i use this to watch catchup TV here in Britain.
Now BBC iPlayer & ITV player works a treat however the 4Od app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...e&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=4od+google+play does not!
The App installs and everything and all the data and programs loads up however when it's about to play the app states "Not supported for Viewing On televisions"
Is anyone able to mod this app to get it to work? Or know of a way of tricking the device into playing ie editing the build prop via a flashable cwm?
If someone could help I would be eternally grateful

As of today, you can now download HBO GO directly from the Google Play store on the Nexus Player! No more side loading and having to use a mouse / keyboard-track pad combo. I have tested it out already and it is working great so far!
I know this isn't a huge deal but it is much more convenient being able to download it on the playstore and use the original remote.
Awesome, can't wait til I get home to fire this up.
Only missing Amazon Instant Video now....

We probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than Amazon releasing an official remote compatible app for the nexus player...
Unless I'm missing something, it appears HBO GO for Android TV is not supported by Comcast. Won't let me activate.
I found that it works much better on the NP than the AFTV. Just a smoother, quicker experience.
Now if we can just get WatchESPN I'll have everything I need.

Ouch! I did read that actually. For some reason, Comcast subscribers can not currently log into HBO Go on Android TV. I have no idea why either. Luckily I use my parents Dish Network / Netflix login for all of my app needs. (HBO GO, FX Now, Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc etc) I pay $40 a month for 60mbps Internet from Charter and that is it. I will never subscribe to cable!
What on earth is going on with comcast again. So tiring of getting tangled up in a new controversy of theirs every month. Last month was the introduction of data caps, now android tv blocking. Can't comprehend how google allowed this. I am speculating we got in the middle of whatever animosity and rivalry they have with Sony. Playstation 3 as well exhibits same issue and doesnt allow activation of the hbogo app if comcast is the provider. I am thinking since sony comes with android tv, they ended up blacklisting the whole platform at its totality.
this also works on my razer forge but I had to sideload APK.
ps. anyone else just getting black screen when playing video/s ? audio works fine. HBO GO is only app that behaves this way.
Arstechnica had a good article on net neutrality with a link to FCC to post your complaints.
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/06/the-fcc-will-now-take-your-net-neutrality-complaints/
I'll be filing one for the hbo blocking across many different streaming devices.
Well not sure why but a standard VPN can't bypass the Geoblocks maybe some special location checking going on?

Can confirm that: DNS solution doesn't work either, but the normal Android apk I sideloaded works as usual.
Regards to the comcast problem, Fire TV had the same issue initially where comcast was the hold out. They joined later on but not sure what made that happen.
as of 03/19/2016, comcast is still not allowing activation on nexus player / android tv for HBO GO or HBO NOW. unbelievable! I cant wait for Google Fiber to end the Comcast Xfinity Reign of Terror.
