Skyrocket ICS Leak questions - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey guys I have some questions that will help me decide whether I should install the AT&T ICS leak or not. So if I install it, will I still be able to receive OTA updates? Also, when I add widgets, will it look like it did in 2.3.6? Like with the menu at the bottom. And last of all, will I still have the tilt to zoom feature? Or will that be gone? Thanks a lot!
**Sorry I forgot to mark this thread as a question. I didn't see that until after I clicked submit.

1. No
2. Widgets are the same, at least I didn`t find any difference
3. Yes

I find UCLE2 (debloated non-root) fast and stable as a DD. I planned to qualify for OTA with a nandroid of 2.3.5 I took. The thing I miss most is better looking and smooother navigating themeing, like I had in Doc's Master on my Captivate.

I don't know if I should worry about the OTA updates. Do you think so?

No reason to in my opinion. Unless you plan on keeping your phone stock anyway.

UCLE2 in its stock form was good for me, but it drained the battery very quickly. Sky ICS 4.2 has been very, very good, even reasonable with the battery. I wonder if the final ATT release of ICS will be even close.

I guess I will also root. I don't see a point in not to. I mean it saves battery, can make your phone faster, and more. Is there all the cool features in Sky ICS from 2.3.6 stock? Like the tilt to zoom? Thanks
**Edit** Oh and what is UCLE2?

UCLE2 is the code name of Samsung's third leaked (sneak preview) stock ICS Rom developed for the Skyrocket. It might soon prove to be identical to the ICS upgrade version AT&T eventually finishes "customizing" and releases OTA. it is Android 4.0.4

If you believe that I have some prime real estate in the Florida Everglades I'd like to sell ya.
Sorry, not trying to be ****-ish, but I'm just not buying it. I don't care if it was the CEO of AT&T who said it -- we've all been lied to enough times by now on official ICS.
Screw official OTA's. I'd be perfectly content if we could just get kernel source from a leak. Hands are tied on a ton of stuff our devs could be doing until we get that.

I agree--I wouldn't believe anything an AT&T rep says about the official release. It's way more fun to play around with all these ROMs anyway.

Congrats to JCase for the first Gingerbread Release

As most of us, I have been following this since the leak this morning and we now have a flashable release over at AndroidPolice.com (http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/16/download-leaked-gingerbread-rom-for-the-htc-thunderbolt/)
I am personally waiting until das BAMF comes out with their next version based on GB just so I don't have to download and configure another rom within days, but again, congrats to Jcase.

Ha yeah...Adrynalyne said it was a trojan to free up bandwidth for dev's to download it. The original "leak" was not flashable and people would have messed up their phones if they jumped the gun too early. Probably did himself and the rest of the community a BIG favor (no threads titled "Help I tried to flash the leak and screwed up my phone")
Has anyone tried this yet with 4G? Will this work with Titanium Backup so I do not have to reload all my info and apps?
Thank you!!!

It just hit within the last 30 minutes or so. Right now it may just be a trial and error thing. Just do a nandroid backup of your current rom and start experimenting. Let us know

Also, I have a Dedicated Web Server and could have hosted if bandwidth was such an issue, though it's all hindsight at this point.

I hope we end up with some kind of video call software.
Rumors about Skype working proper and maybe even a Google app that works.
Hope so anyway.
Looking forward to the updated Bamf that's for sure.

Probably your network. I dont think the rom would be throttling your speeds.. you would either have a connection to 4g or not.
running it since last night, you guys in the chat were super helpful thank you!

Since we got gingerbread do you think will get ICS?

Since we just received official gingerbread love, do you think it is more likely for us to receive official ice cream sandwich sooner or later? Not custom ports or roms
If we fallow Samsung's chain (I hope i'm wrong) look at what happened to the vibrant, it got left out in froyo when or sgs4g came out, then we got GB but the SII came out, get the path here?

Why do you think the sgs4g needs to get ics? My phone is fast got extremely great battery life and tons of other things. Do you just want ics so you could have the latest android flavor or do you think or know it will make our phones that much better. I'm not trying to be a smartass just curious why ppl are this rilled up about ics.
I think the only reason is because "others have it".
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Great words blazen you know maybe ics has some quiet interesting features but our developers make than our phone from crappy to gingerbread better than ics that is one the reasons I want to start developing because I feel that I got skills to make some good stuff for the phone ( like themes and guides only things that i have finished) and other reason is because here our developers are way better than samsungs horrible costumer service....anyway every sgs4g user most appreciete the developers work even if the projects are not finished like ics port and aosp port because that makes people more happy and they know that there works are awesome

I believe that most want it because it is the newest OS and most believe it will be an improvement, much like GB compared to Froyo... Which is understandable considering the developers here are going full bore in a attempt to port ICS.
Being one of those that was satisfied with froyo, I have to admit I am even more satisfied with GB... But as for your question, I personally hope that it is released for our phone because if it is, so to would the source be released (just imagine what the developers could accomplish with it).
Just my 2 cents in the well.

You do realize that's a post from someone in the forums right? No word from Samsung USA. You cannot depend on what a customer service rep says, they sit behind the computer all day and still do not know a thing about the products they are supposed to be supporting. They are just trying to shut us up about it already. If the OG galaxy s gets just a value pack, it'd be hard to imagine them bending backwards to give us full ICS

If I am not mistaken the T-Mobile version is the same as the Telus S2 in Canada. If it is I would not be in any hurry to upgrade to ICS. My own experience and experience of others as reported on the Howardforums has not been stellar. Problems with apps freezing and battery life going in the toilet are common. Looks great, just doesn't work very well. I would hold off until these issues are addressed. I usually always wait to do an update until I here some feedback but this time I jumped in and am now regretting it.
Just a word to the wise

Official Jelly Bean released for Sprint Galaxy S III

Just saw that Sprint released their S III JB update. Sort of disappointed by Verizon. Do we have any hope for this update coming out for the Verizon variant this year?

You'd need a Verizon JB rom for the base if I'm not mistaken? I thought that was more for changing between different ICS-modded roms (although I could be wrong there).

Well when sprints leak hit it did help us a little we got svdo working. The Rom itself was rather buggy but it got fixed. This might be more stable than T-Mobile leaks but still not as good as the real deal.
Hell I don't even care really about an OTA really, I just want a leak at least! I'm missing some of the JB features from my GNex.
Verizon is really irritating me, especially because I've been holding out on installing Wallet due to the isis release that were not even getting! Give us our jb, and release the restrictions on wallet. Wtf
I hope someone can port it today!!!!!!
