Hello Everyone
First of all I am quite new so if I have done something wrong with this post someone let me know and I will try and put it right.
I am trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 with RyanZA's z4root, but every time I do it, my phone vibrates and exits the rooting app (it is as though the phone is pressing the back button by itself).
Just to let you know incase I you wish to reply, the 3 button recovery mode does not work, but I know that it is recovery 3e and my phone was rooted on 2.1 in the same way I am trying to do it now. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you want to root your Samsung Galaxy S i9000, try Super One Click Root.
Nice one cheers!
So I have about reached my boiling point, I have followed every article I can find including Team Whiskey's and the one that AndroidSPIN has posted as well. I had no problems rooting my prior to updating to Froyo 2.2 that was finally released for the Vibrant. I would like to see if anyone can lend a helping hand I would really like to drop the BIONIX 1.3 v ROM I simply just frustrated at this point. Any Ideas anyone? I am attempting to use the Z4ROOT and have attempted to use the one-click root as as well. Thoughts?

Hi Folks,
I'm unable to root my Galaxy S. (tried different methods)
I had rooted my phone through Ryans Super One click Lag fix & unrooted my phone a month ago.
I tried to root the devise again but not been able to succed with the following methods.
1. Ryans Super One Click 1.91 : the Super One click says waiting for device and dies, no sucess even after trying for nth time.
2. Installed Z4root.apk directly on my phone internal SD card: It force closes after displaying acquiring root shells?
3.Downloaded update.zip folder into internal SD card and then press the 3 button combo and it says.
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
4. Installed Universal abdroot which roots the 2.2.1 firware as well.
However even this failed.
Not sure why all the methods failed, Is it because I rooted and unrooted my phone earlier ???? Please help me...
model: GT-I900
Firmware: 2.2.1
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build: FROYO.XXJPY
So I have been trying to root my infuse for several weeks now and I have come up with the same two issues quite frequently now.
1. I get stuck right when it says waiting for device the first time, I plug in my phone and if I havent already tried rooting it, it will work, if not it says "failed automatic version check"
and if it passes that then...
2. It will get to step #6 where it will proceed to stall on the portion that says "getting mount path". It doesnt freeze just stalls.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
[How To] Root the Samsung Infuse 4G
Thanks but no thanks man it didnt work I had to manually root the phone myself.
I was able to root my Infuse using the ODIN method. It worked like a charm. Only thing is I'm running Windows 7 64-bit system so I had to get the Samsung driver installed beforehand.
I have a Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G

What exactly must i do to restore everything to factory settings and to unroot phone? The reason i say this is i don't want to void warranty and i need to send the phone back.I don't have a clue on how to unroot (friend rooted phone for me). I would greatly appreciate your help!
Try here:
http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...m/?PHPSESSID=f2c968f0ef15a507ff925687971d1be8
that link works for me )
i went to the link but I am unsure of which files to pick. I downloaded Odin but what do I do from there? which pit file do i select? I don't understand which file i have to select under PDA or PHONE or CSC
If you have already got the ok to send it back there is no need to unroot. the tech fixing it isnt going to take extra steps to see if you rooted your phone and I highly doubt they will stop fixing your phone if in fact they did find out it was rooted.
And if they do I"m out the cost of the phone. I'd just like to unroot to be sure but, Jasus!! last time I rooted it was way easier. Now it's Odin and this and that. I"m not a complete newb but I can't figure out Odin to save my life. Instructions I read refer me to things that aren't on my version, etc. Is there a "Unrooting for Dummies" out there somewhere??
Well ur phone has ota ready. Just check for an update and it will update and root willcbe gone

Odin is very simple to use. Just load the pda and pit and click start.

I've tried every method. Odin doesn't recognize my phone. I've downloaded drivers a half dozen times. I've gotten every file set up only to have odin just sit there without giving me a com.
Then I've tried several versions of z4, oneclickroot, and gingerbreak. Nothing works. I'm wondering if there's just no way to root or flash my phone.
I'm on an sgs i500.04
Gingerbread 2.3.5
K EI20
Was rooted with oneclick till update, through kies, to gingerbread.
Cspire.
Anyone please help. I'm going a little crazy over this.
i give up
I guess a way just doesn't exist for my phone.
Things I've tried unsuccessfully:
DoomLorD.zip (every version) (Unable to copy SU files, reboot, not rooted)
OneClick (every version)
Gingerbreak ( '' )
z4
SDK with adb recovery (E:signature verification failed)
Odin (will not recognize my phone in download mode)
Cannot get heimdall(sp) do download.? probably couldnt use it anyway.
I thought to wait on a rooted ICS version, and would love to flash that to my phone, but have no ODIN! Go figure.
Anyway, I guess there is just not a way to do my phone. It resists all methods. Does anyone else with a i500 Showcase on the kies update to gingerbread 2.3.5 have this problem? Is this Cspire gingerbread unhackable?
Hey, sent you a pm...

Who is your carrier?
jbreakfield, you're alive?
samsung drivers
Do you have proper samsung drivers installed for your windows version..Also check to see if usb debugging is activated. Im no expert but hopefully this helps.
Another idea is to try a different usb port. I had one go bad.
I spent about a day uninstalling, rebooting, installing several different drivers. Also rebooting after each new install. No matter what I did ODIN wouldn't see my phone.
I got the idea to try another usb on the back of my desktop pc.
ODIN finally connected!
Hope this helps. Regards.

Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated...
SuperOneClick

enable debugging on the phone, plug it in, if you need drivers use the ones inside the zip file. Run the program and hopefully the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
