Shutdown issue - freezing on shutdown - SkyICS [FIXED] - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I was running SkyICS ROM 4.2E6.
Great ROM, liked it a lot.
I then installed the KOB4LT theme. Upon my first shutdown, I noticed it was freezing. Just a blank screen and the haptic buttons were lit up.
I did the usual, cleared cache, davlik, removed battery a few minutes, fixed permissions, etc. Nothing helped.
So I reinstalled the most recent update patch from SkyICS and that didn't fix it either. So I wiped the phone and installed the RIII base and E7 of SkyICS (very latest).
Again I loved things for a few days.
But then I used ROM Toolbox to do a little customization.
Then I installed a few live wallpapers from the Market.
And got some spam infestation as a result.
So I wiped the phone and restored from a day old Nandroid backup.
And voila... the shutdown issue is back.
So I wiped the phone again and restored a two-day old Nandroid.
And again I have the shutdown issue.
Any ideas for me to try? I spent a lot of time getting that ROM just the way I wanted and don't want to have to reflash a new ROM all over again.

Fixed it.
1) Wiped phone (again).
2) Flashed the original UCLD2 ICS leak (I727UCLE2_OneClick).
3) Flashed recovery.
4) Installed 5.5.0.4 (?) touch recovery.
5) Wiped phone.
6) Restored from backup.
7) Rebooted w/out any problem.

Thanks, I was having the same problem today and this fixed it.

Please help: unusual bootloop/CWM error

Hi
I installed Thiaz ROM and the ICS theme which there is a link to on his V2.4 page. All was running fine and dandy for a day. I installed all of my programs, apps, etc, and used App2SD to move some of them to the SD. Each time I did this, it said 'failed' the first time and then allowed them to be moved on the next. I rebooted the phone a couple of times and never had any problems. After I had got things set up as I wanted them, I rebooted into CWM and did a new backup. I then rebooted and went into bootloop.
Cleared data, dalvik and even battery stats. Tried fixing permissions. Nothing worked at all, still boot loop. Did a factory reset and restored the backup and still bootloops.
If I restore to the original backup from when I first put on the ROM (no ICS theme), it works OK. Then after a few hours and after I have turned on and off successfully a few times, I get the old bootloop again. I have not messed around with any system files, etc. One time it was after I moved a file with File Expert but I uninstalled that programme and haven't used since.
Any help or suggestions would be very gratefully received as I don't really want to go back to the stock V21a but I can't be doing with setting up everything on my phone from scratch every day either!
I hope someone can help me.

Infuse stuck in boot logo loop

My infuse is rooted with zues. A few weeks ago, it was stuck on the samsung boot logo and it keeps looping. I wiped data and cache and installed zues again and it was fixed. Last night, this happened... so my phone turns on for 2 minutes max, then turns off and starts the loop. I can only keep on for 2 minutes before it starts looping again. by saying keeping it on for 2 minutes, i mean everything works! talk, text, games, ect...
so i turned it off, went to clockwork or root menu, whatever you guys call it, and i wiped data and cache. Whats weird is that even on boot menu or clockwork, it still wont stay on, it keeps turning off and turns on and loops!
i installed zues again, still turns off and loops
next step? is my phone dead?
Did you have any undervolt settings applied?
The phone is not underclocked, it is not overclocked. It was rooted, I unrooted it. its currently unrooted absolutely factory stock and still doing that. What can I do to fix this?
warranty is over as of 3 months ago
Forgot to mention the most important thing!!!
When I am on the phone with someone, it works perfectly forever, as soon as i hang up, it ends the call. this key thing might help someone find the solution!!

Don't panic just yet... I doubt your phone is dead.
You say you've "wiped data and cache". Are you also making sure to wipe /system and Dalvik Cache?
Try flashing Zeus again.
Boot to CWM, Wipe EVERYTHING (/data, /cache, /system, Dalvik Cache). (Alternatively, get "Clean Wipe" from Qkster's Scripts and flash with CWM to easily wipe everything.)
Flash Zeus and go.
If you're still having problems, perhaps try a different rom?
okay, I read everything you guys wrote.. This is where I am, I am open to suggestions
I am on the stock rom and unrooted. Phone still boot loops. What should I do now? Step by step instructions would be great. Im unrooted, so should i root again? even though im having this problem?
bump! really need help with this guys!
Have you tried going back to stock?
If it keeps looping while on download mode then I would say you are dealing with a hardware issue.
Sent from my sweet & buttery Infuse
It just came to me that it doesn't loop in download mode. It does loop in clockwork, I flashed the stock kernel using ODIN and went completely stock through ODIN.
How do i fix this? i'm pissed that i had it for a year and three months and right after the warranty ended, the phone stopped working! Samsung never again unless this issue is fixed
I'm a newbie to flashing, so take it with a grain of salt. At least two more things seem worth trying to me:
1 - Try factory data reset (assuming you already tried the wipe Davlick and wipe cache). I'm not positive what this does, but I think you may lose some of your data if it's not backed up.
2 - If that doesn't work, try qkster's Heimdall UCLB3 stock (since you can get into download mode...shouldn't be a problem). This is complete back to stock so should be able to clear any software problem I'd think. I know you may think it's redundant since you are already back to stock, but worth trying imo since some things just take more than one try, and you may have had a bad flash the first time around.
Why zeus? try latest ones with jelly bean
Hey,
Try other roms based out of jelly bean. They are pretty stable. CM10 with 09/14 build is the latest
Here are the standard steps if you have CWM enabled.
1. Factory re-set (only when switching between different roms).
2. Cache partition wipe
3. Dalvik Cache wipe
4. Install the zip file
5. Re-start and wait until it re-starts. Initially it will take some time.
I have tried various roms and versions as well. Best would be the CM10 Jelly bean.
Thanks Kran.

[Q] [Help] Flashing ROM works fine, freezes on splash screen on boot when restarted.

I'm just gunna give you the whole story.
I'm using TWRP Recovery.
I'm coming back to my d2vzw after a couple weeks of not using it (I got a different phone through work). I'm now back to using my GS3. I decided to update to the latest ROM version. I installed the slimROM stable that was just released, it was slow and they animations were choppy (which is really weird for slim). So I decided to try a different ROM. I've used carbon before, and I really like active display and HALO, so I decided to install that. It installed just fine, installed all my apps, rebooted. It froze on the initial splash screen, didn't even get to the boot animation. So I figured it was just a bad install, so I formatted and flashed from my external SD. Again, first boot just fine, then froze on second boot. So I put a https://plus.google.com/+AlexKruger/posts/dJGXsrAZvj4 in the ROM's community. They suggested that it might be a bug from installing it from my external. So I formatted, then moved the files over to internal, and flashed again. It booted fine, I got to the home screen and restarted before I did anything else. Froze, again. Then someone suggested, that I format, install it, boot all the way, reboot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik and dirty flash from internal storage. Did it, froze on reboot. So I formatted one more time, and went to boot into recovery while figured out what to do, I accidentally booted into the system. It booted just fine, I went through the set up and activation screens, and it worked. So I rebooted, froze. Then someone suggested I switch recoveries, so I installed the latest CWM recovery, and tried everything all over again, still freezes on reboot.
I know I could just use a different ROM, but it's gotten to the point that I need to fix it. I want to get it to work because F*** you.
Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

[Q] Unflashing a zip you flashed?

I recently flashed this Dropbox zip (50GB back) through TWRP and since then, everything has gone downhill for my phone. Battery drain, random reboots, etc. I've tried to reset my phone and clean installed everything (wiped data, factory settings, etc.) but the problem has been the same. My question is, if I restore to a backup I had a few months ago, will everything that I installed after that backup be erased so my phone can go back to normal?

If you do a full wipe first.

My SM-930FD freezes at 27.50%, 25% and 65% during rom flash everytime!

Hi all.
Hoping someone can provide some help.
I have a SM-G930FD and I am on Superman rom ver 1.19.1. The phone had been restarting at random times more recently so I thought to do a clean flash through TWRP to the same 1.19.1 rom (it worked for me and I didn't need any new features etc from newer roms).
So I rebooted into recovery, did a clean wipe, select install rom, go through aroma as usual selecting/deselecting things, install rom. But for some reason the phone freezes at exactly 27.50%. I had to hold power+down+home to reboot the phone then power+up+home to get into TWRP. I have tried flashing the same rom again several times but freezes at 27.50% again. If I don't select any tweaks and all stock options in aroma I get to 65% but always freeze at 65%.
The only thing I can do at the moment is restore. Luckily I did a full backup in TWRP prior to flashing. But even the restore had been crashing at random % progress and I have to force restart several times for the restore to complete. Right now my phone is restored to the same state before I tried flashing. It still random restarts.
I also tried flashing to the lastest 2.9 Superman rom. Updated BL and CP through Odin and installed latest TWRP too. But guess what, it also freezes at 27.50% during the rom install. I also tried flashing the Ultimate Nougat Rom V2.6 but guess what, freezes at 25% on multiple attempts.
I tried flashing from 2 different microsd cards and also tried flashing from internal memory. All freezes at either 27.50% or 25% or 65%.
If someone can help I would really appreciate it! The S7 is my secondary phone, it's not the end of the world if I can't update to a newer rom, but I would like to be able to solve why!
