[Mod] [6th June] Simple search button mods - HTC Sensation

Since I never use the search button, I thought it would be nice to remap it to something useful.
So after some tinkering I came up with it.
This should work on all custom roms, from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich and from AOSP to Sense.
If a mod doesn't work, make a post with your rom and rom version (eg. rom: Android Revolution HD, version: 6.6.5)
Comments and feedback are appriciated!
If you like it, don't forget to thank me. Donations ,though not necessary, are appreciated.

Hm, it shows up as the Gingerbread style of multitasking. Was hoping for the ICS style, but cool nonetheless.

Didn't someone already make one similar like this one?
Just looked through some old mods I liked and here it is

IMHO the Gingerbread style multitasking is less bloated/quicker then ICS style multitasking. If you like I can make a zip with the ICS style.

Thank You for Your hard work, search key for recent app is very useful
+1 for ISC style multitasking please this will be perfect, could You do it for us?

looks awesome. the difference between this and the existing mod, is that this one is so much simpler. who the hell wants to mess wit all that code? will definitely give the ics recent apps mod a try when you release it. so just to clarify, it doesnt require a long press of the search button does it? its instant right? thanks

Done, will upload when I have acces to a pc.
Also, since most buttons have double functions (when you long press them), might be functional to mod those to. What do you guys think?

[MOD] Swap H icon with 4G icon

So me being a Tmo US user i liked having the 4G icon and it not switching from 3G to H all the time so i pushed the stock tmobile SystemUI.APK via adb and bingo it sits on 4G now
Thanks to Sergio76 for his help
Also included is a mod to go from 4G to H for those of you that requested it.

No can do. adb push is the way to go. And if you get an error try the adb remount command and use adb push again.
if you do this, you may lose in the options menu shortcuts fast , Because the Rom customs have to add options.
I made the changes the file SystemUI my custom rom (Crystal) and I replace and Works perfectly.
This should really be in the themes and app section, as it isn't really dev related.

No problem here to help. But rember this is suppose to be only installed on Stock builds with no Modes at all in SystemUI or the builds with modes on it will lose it. Like extended quick settings.
This one as the extended quick settings but it contains my modes and icons just replace as much icons as you can with stock ones and it can be flsahed in any rom without loosing extended quick settings.
It also contains the Wifi calling from Tmous .

Post it in here please.

Now it is if you replace those icons from that zip i added on previous post with extended quick settings for Tmous
That SystemUI on CoreDroid zip also includes animated network icons enjoy it
supercobaltss : I Took myself to my custom rom HIM and I change the icon for H, so nothing is missing
It proves it is just an icon.

Actually everything is the same as the non Tmous version except the smalis (Dex file) they have different code on it its nothing about replacing icons at all.

Thread moved.
This is actually a themed version of MIUI, it belongs in themes.
It has various tweaks and a bit of bloatware removed. It also has edits to the build.prop. Could it please be moved back to the development section.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
wait..wtf...why is this in the themes and apps? when this is a rom? ? mistake?
P00t I too am confused about this he keeps saying its just and update to it as it is a theme even though to get the theme you need a rom I wish people would understand where to put these at and they should move this to development soon..
Also the title even says [rom] wtf
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
Is there another Download link? I keep getting a virus when trying to download this ROM.. My antivirus detects it and then it stops downloading.
OK guys. I will move this back to Dev for now. Please Understand that it may not stay there. Rom development is for just that development. MIUI has no development on XDA So it MIUI roms may not be in Development for long. Also understand that MIUI has many things that are against XDA rules and we are looking into that.
Then I would recommend that we move it to just the hacking fourm instead of something labeled :/

[MOD][ICS4.0.3]smooth ice v.3.1 Extended Power Menu & No Carrier Statusbar

Updated 2 April 12 11:30 edt
This is a CWM flashable zip for that adds the extended power menu (Download/Ringer/Airplane/Power/Reboot/Recovery) and removes the carrier name from the status bar.
Download CWM flashable zip: http://ge.tt/7lfn3oF/v/0?c
It uses the SysUI, framework-res, and android.policy from remf4i's smooth ice v.3.1 ROM. It should work with other deodexed roms built from the March ICS leak, but I make no guarantees. I have only tested it with smooth ice so far, so post your results.
The extended power menu was loosely based on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811532 but I had to make a bunch of additional smali edits to get it working.
The carrier mod is based on this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24316085#post24316085
Also, this is the first time I've done any smali edits. Or rom editing in general. But it seems to be working well so far after a few flashes/nandroid restores just to test it out.
Added extended power menu! The icons are fugly and don't match, but they were the first ones that came up on Google images.
Just wanted to get the functionality in there so that other devs can add it to their roms.
damn u just beat me too it! Well good work!

[MOD|1.53] Disable the annoying ICS 3-dot Menu

I've ported the One-X mod to the One-S
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506
This mod will disable the 3-dot Menu on the display, the menu button will be mapped to long-pressing home!
I don't own a One-S, I've attached an android.policy.jar if anyone want's to try it. If it works, I will make a zip which you can flash with the CWM recovery
use it only on a deodexed 1.53.x.2 ROM
please don't pm me, post here if you have something to say
I will not make an odexed version
make a backup of the file first
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/android.policy.jar android.policy.jar.orig
this file needs to be pushed to /system/framework/android.policy.jar
Code:
adb remount
adb push android.policy.jar /system/framework/android.policy.jar
if you don't know how to do this, wait for someone to test the mod and I'll make a flashable zip!
