I believe some of the others are also none multi-touch but can't be sure. Maybe someone can post here which versions are and are not (I don't have this phone so can only go by what others say lol)

How do you mean use one listed here? If you mean a 2.3.5 version then there is U8850 V100R001CHNC00B243SP25(China channels) which I've just posted to my blog's
This should let you root your phone and install a custom rom of your choice
As for the U8850 V100R001C279B244SP22 firmware you have, would you care to share? I don't have that one.
