[Q] Wifi keep switching to "Always" on during sleep - HTC One S

Hello I just want to ask when I switch the Wifi setting to "Only on when plugged in" or "Never on" during sleep time after awhile it would turn back to "Always" on while in sleep mode. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

Can I disable wifi from turning off when I turn off the screen?

WM6. Whenever I turn the screen off, Wifi automatically turns off until the screen is turned back on.
Can I change this setting? and yes, I know it will drain the battery, but I have 2 spares that are constantly on charge.
Thanks

I just started experiencing that my phone wont go into sleep mode after pressing the power button. I can hold it down and pop up menu to turn off shows, and bring it out of sleep after the 15 sec delay i have set up but thats it any ideas?
The only issue I have is when the phone goes to sleep wifi turns off and the captivate starts charging data to my plan. Does this happen to anyone else and if so is there a known cure?
I had my phone not go to sleep at set timeout one time. It may have been due to an app i installed. I rebooted and no problem since.
As for using data when asleep - Wifi turns off when the phone goes to sleep mode - this is the way it behaves, same as iPhone and other android phones. You have some app connecting in the background, maybe email sync?
You can keep the wifi on during sleep by going into the Settings-> Wireless and Network -> Wi-Fi Settings. Press the menu button in Wi-Fi settings press on "Advanced".
In there is an option called Wi-Fi sleep policy. Switch that to Never and you shouldn't have to worry about the wifi turning off when in sleep mode.

Captivate Shutting Down Instead of Sleeping
Mine is doing this too, as are a few others, from the look of some posts on here. Mine started after a day and a half and two full charges. Suddenly I would go to wake it up and it will have turned off.
I'm thinking I might take it back to the store to exchange it, as not everyone is experiencing this problem. Sucky. I did notice that the battery, after you take the door off, is a little wiggly on the side opposite the connectors. I wedged some thin paper in the between the battery and the battery slot and it still did it. Got to be a problem with the individual phone.
Total PITA!!
I had problems with mine shutting off while in sleep mode and I uninstalled SetCpu and my task killer and it stopped doing it....

WiFi not turning off

Something new - under Wifi Settings/Advanced - I have Wi-Fi set to sleep when display is off..
This doesn't seem to be the case. My WiFi is Always on.
I would imagine that the icon would disappear like it does when WiFi is turned off.. but when the phone is asleep and then wakes up, the WiFi connection is still there.
Anything I can try to fix this? I have tried changing the WiFi sleep policy to the other 2, then changing it back to display power - didn't work.
I did have to reboot the phone last night because I couldn't get WiFi to turn off, but I don't have a problem today with turning it on or off.. just won't go to "sleep"
It may be turning off and you just don't notice it. Cause I know that as soon as I turn on the display again its maybe half a second and then the wifi is back on. So you may be missing the switch.
I also notice that I have to leave the display off for a good two or three mins for it to turn off.

Is there a way to find out how long you are connected to an Access Point?
I am noticing a big difference in battery drain when WiFi is turned completely off, then when it is in the "Sleep" mode.

[Q] wifi sleep mode

Is there anyway to have the wifi stay on when the screen goes to sleep? It seems sometimes it doesn't always connect or takes a while to connect when you turn the device back on after it has gone to sleep.

[Q] [HELP]Airplane Toggle Bug

It takes about 1 minute or more to activate airplane mode.In settings it shows "turning on" below the airplane mode option and in quick launch toggles the airplane mode indicator keeps blinking violently before turning on permanently. Is it just with me?What are the possible causes and how to tackle this issue?

This probably isn't an issue. It doesn't take a minute for me, about 15-20 seconds. And that is not fine, because when you enter the airplane mode, the phone turns off all it's networks and wireless radios, which may take that amount of time required. The "violent blinking" just shows that the phone is working on the requested detail, which in this case is turning on the airplane mode.
This is just me guessing, others please pitch in if you have a different opinion, and enlighten me too if I'm wrong.
