Rooting With SuperOneClick v2.3.3 Unsuccessful - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I believe this is the right area for this technical situation to be posted in. If not, I apologize.
Well, I have an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G and I've always wanted to root it but I guess I was just too lazy to do everything. After I found out you can root it this easily with SuperOneClick, I decided to try it out.
Moving onto my technical difficulties, I've downloaded the SuperOneClick v2.3.3 since that's what version I have on my phone, and after I rooted it, I rebooted and went to my applications to look for SuperUser and it was there but it was only an Android icon which symbolizes that its not installed, it's just a regular Android icon.
I deleted it and tried again, which obviously brought me to no luck. Before I rooted, I turned on USB debugging and unmounted my SD card as well. I also turned off my antivirus application on my computer so it would prevent any files that has been seen as a virus to not work.
I've searched google several times but I only found people who have other problems related to SuperOneClick but none like what I am experiencing. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong or if I am using the wrong software to root my phone? I could also provide the link I downloaded the SuperOneClick files to check if it was the right one with the right files included in the folder.
Thanks!
EDIT: I also tried downloading superuser from google play but the application wouldn't even open.

[Q]

Hi all. I've been trying to install app2sd on my Xperia X10 mini pro. I've successfully rooted my device, using z4root 1.3. After I followed steps you provided on one of your threads. I've partitioned my SD card (16GB) and copied all necessary files. However instaed of running the proccess from my PC, I've downloaded terminal portal onto my phone and made it run from there. In the description it is said that after all steps, (which by the way were exactly the same had they been run from PC) the phone should restart itself, which unfortunatelly it did not. Worse of all all my apps and even Market icon dissapeared. I managed to find that the files were there, only system could not detect them. Pissed off about the whole situation I've decided to reboot my device using software installer by SE. Since then I can't even root my phone. I've tried all possible solutions including z4root, andro root, super one click, none of them succeeded. Please can anyone tell me what is going on. I would love to have app2sd as this really good phone is given with such a annoying flaw, as 200MB of memory. Thanks

[Q] Total Noob in Need of Lots of Help :(

I just got my SNS yesterday and it's my first android phone (was previously using an LG cookie) First thing I did was try to root it, and I seemingly succeeded, or so I thought. It looks like it's rooted and the superuser apps there but I can't install apps using any of the guides I find or even update to 2.3.2 (keep getting and error 7 msg). When I try to install using APKInstaller it tells me it can't find the device, which I think is the problem.
I think the problem is that someway or another windows 7 64 bit stopped recognizing my phone as a Nexus S and now recognizes it as a portable device in device manager (There's also an Android Phone, with an Android Composite ADB interface) I used the SDK to install all the updates available including the google usb driver rev. 4. I tried updating the Portable device driver using the google usb driver but windows keeps it as a WPD Filesystem Volume Driver. Also I noticed when I checked to see if adb gave me a serial number for the phone using the cmd prompt commands in the rooting guides it comes up blank.
I used usbdeview to delete everything seemingly related to Android, but everytime I reconnect the phone it, installs the drivers for the portable device.
I need help to make windows recognize the phone as a nexus s again so I can update and install apps and games etc. If anybody out there can help i'll really appreciate it. Explain the steps to me as if you were talking to a child, leaving nothing out plz. Thanks for any assistance.
I live outside the US (no android market) and would hate to think I messed up and expense phone purchase in just one day
Not quite sure where to start. But my intuition tells me its the Windows 7 64-bit and drivers that's not playing along. You might want to google if other users are having trouble with W7 64-bit with Android drivers. Otherwise, find another computer and repeat the steps. If not, flash a custom ROM to see if that eliminates the problem. You haven't damaged your phone. Don't worry.
just install directly from android market website
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I assume you mean instal the update from the market (which I can't do because I don't have wifi)?
I managed to get the adb to list a device number after I installed java x32 & x64 bit. I still can't install apps or get the update to work, but I'll try unrooting and then rerooting my phone as see how that goes.
Oh, I haven't done the initial sign into gmail thing yet in case that makes any difference
Edit: god I feel stupid. I didn't realize that I had to upgrade from 2.3 to 2.3.1 and then to 2.3.2. I did that an everything upgrade without any problems. Now just got to figure out how to install apk's and I'm golden
Edit 2: Ok, I figured everything out and now i'm up to date with updates and I can install apps and games. Oh Happy Day Thx for all the help

[Q] Rooting~ (issue) Waiting For Device

Samsung infuse.
Windows 7 OS
microsoft .net framework (latest version)
The Issue:
Once all steps followed, phone plugged in correctly in debugging mode with sd card unmounted, and SuperOneClick is activated via the "root" button I receive a not
responding notification at the top of the window. The root process seizes up at the Waiting For Device entry, and it will not move forward/Detect my device for anything!
What I've tried:
I have followed correct steps for rooting using SuperOneClick, tried running program as admin, tried ending the process via process manager before re-attempting the root multiple different ways, toggled debug during root process, turned phone on after running root, and downloading pdanet to find all the necessary drivers that may or may not have been missing.
Possible Reason For Issue:
After all this, what I beleive the problem to be is I am missing cdc abstract control model. Anytime I try to aquire this, I receive a "driver not found" message.
I have sought it out manually and turned up with nothing.
The Main Question:
How can i fix, or proceed past this point succesfully/get SuperOneClick to detect my Samsung Infuse 4G device?
Ideas/suggestions/info/programs that help/step by step assistance would all be greatly appreciated.
I used a search on the infuse forums and came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088122&highlight=superoneclick
Therefore, this thread will be closed to keep the forum clean. Ask your question there.

Phone problems: Root

Hi, a while back I rooted my T-mo mytouch Q. It was fine for a while and I
enjoyed the benefits of having a rooted phone, but some problems I can't seem
to find the answer to occured. First off, I can't install my phone driver onto any
computer anymore. It says failed to install driver. At first I thought this was my
old computer's fault (it had vista) but now I got a brand new computer with
windows 7 and it is still a problem. Second of all, I uninstalled some system apps
I didn't seem to find a use for (browser because I used dolphin, some widgets)
and Titanium backup will not restore these apps (spins endlessly). I have tried
manually pushing them to the system folder but it wont allow me to. Any help
with either of these problems will be much appreciated.

Noob Deleted System Apps - LG E720

I've been wanting to make my LG Optimus Chic E720 run a little smoother; today I tackled it. After rooting with z4root, I installed Root Explorer, and proceeded to move many system apps to my SD card, and deleted a few as well.. After moving ome.something app (im sorry I can't even see the name now), I started receiving force close messages for my messaging and phone apps. I managed to reboot, move everything back, and reboot again. Still doing it, so I did a factory reset.. Still doing it, so I did a hard reset.. and its still doing it.
Now, I no longer even have a file manager to install apks. Browser, messaging, phone, camera and android market don't work.. adb shell comes back with Device not found even though the phone is detected and pcsync app runs. I've been at this for like 5-6 hours reading and trying to fix it. I can't put a new rom on, because I can't install terminal emulator or use adb shell. I'm so frustrated, I feel sick to my stomach.. and I can't afford a new phone. Please help me?
This is what I was going to try installing to fix the problem, when I found out adb shell does not detect my phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046135#13185924
I tried Android Injector to install Root Explorer again, no good. Also tried PdaNetA4013 to install usb drivers and it can't detect the phone either. I can still enable removable storage, and put files on, but then I can't access them on the phone.
Well, looks to be solved. After getting the phone to be properly detected (seemed to randomly work on the 100th time enabling/disabling mass storage), I followed the instructions in the link below. I used a different version of firmware than offered on the page. v10c_00.kdz downloaded from an xda developers application, original lg firmware its called. Can't believe its working again, I didn't get any responses but thanks to people like the ones who contribute here, my phone is saved.
I can't post a link but its lg-phones dot org --- how to flash lg optimus chic
Edit: Seems my phone has gone back to being network locked. Bummer.
