I'll be done downloading the data in a few minutes, I'm kind of anxious to try it out.
Anyone trying this game on ics? It is not working on my ics Kindle and it gives me a server error, I am outside the us but using a vpn and sites see me as located in the states, and I am also rooted, not sure if it checks for it.

Yeah, I got error 5002 when my kindle was set to 120 dpi, but switching it back to 160 allowed it to download fine, and it still works if you switch to 120 after downloading the data.

What advantage(s) does lowering the ppi give you? I've never understood it, I thought everyone wanted more ppi. Is it a battery thing? I'm stumped.

I believe people do it to make everything slightly smaller on the screen.

I played through the whole game with GedeROM installed and running the stock clock speed and did not have any lag at all.

Ive downloaded the pro version, along with the plugins. No matter which plugin i use, I never notice any different games in the market. NOVA, Modern Combat etc. Are still not showing up. Yes i pressed the 'fix market' button still to no avail. Has anyone gotten this to actually work with their device?

I had chainfire3d on my captivate and loved it.
I am having all kinds of trouble getting it to install on my skyrocket tho.
I have tried downloading from the market and from the www page. directly to the phone and transferred from usb.
NO matter what I cant get the pluggins to install. I am root. so doesnt make any sense.
I remember needing to punch some code into terminal emulator with the cappy and i have searched and typed a few different commands into VrE again to NO avail. Getting kinda bummed about it now as its been 24 hours since root..I also installed the 2.3.6 rom on our forums last night.
SR was delivered wednsday with 2.3.5 stock from the Amazon . penny sale.
Anyone kn ow what I am doing wrong?
reinstall your phone and try again. I have it installed on my i727r and it works perfect

You google the game and find out which device it was made for. Also many of the gameloft games aren't on the market. Search for shadowgun.
Why are guys even using chain fire? I switched to the skyrocket from a Dell streak 5 with the original snapdragon processor and all my old gameloft games work and most others as well, even shadow gun runs flawlessly from the market with no mods at all. I'm completely stock, not even rooted on 2.3.6

Because we have games that need it.
You should atleast root it so you have CPU controls and app.controls because it saves on battery

Galaxy on Fire 2, Pinball HD, and better versions of Fruit Ninja, Backbreaker, and others. Also, even though it's not a compatibility thing, installing Chainfire 3D made the textures in Riptide GP load at a much higher res.
What are your settings for galaxy on fire 2. Mine crashed to home when loading the campaign

Coming from the epic touch forum. Switched to skyrocket yesterday. How many people adjust there screen density to a lower amount to make stuff smaller more like the galaxy nexus screens. Currently im at 160 and think it looks good. Just curious if anyone else is dropping it?
I change mine 192. I found that to be the best for reading and using gingerbread keyboard. I've noticed Swype and the Samsung keyboard resize well at 160. what keyboard do you use?

Im running Quiz's Rom that has the Ice Cream Keyboard and it seems to resize really well too.
Theres no point to changing your LCD density because if you do nothing in the market will work for you.

Actually that's not true... While I don't know of any LCD density apps that don't affect the market, there is a workaround that seems to work pretty well.

Just follow the instructions and hopefully it will work for you too... I've updated my programs and installed a few that weren't letting me before... Soo happy I don't have to reset my LCD settings everytime I want to update an app or install something new...lol

I am using latest skyicecream rom and go launcher with all Widgets. Fixes little issues with displaying apps. Man I thought it just resized things to appear at different resolution but after trying YouTube videos like big buck bunny in HD at 720p density it is like night and day clarity...I mean you have to see to believe....download LCD density and watch big buck bunny normal then change density to 720p....go back to YouTube app and watch it again...your jaw will drop I promise....

190 is my sweet spot, haven't had issue with market yet as with other settings. Agreed, text looks good 190-100

That's very nice for you but there are a lot of people that can't install things from the market when changing their screen density... I had quite a few apps say my phone wasn't compatible while the density was changed and were fine after I changed my settings from the post I linked to...

hmm game keeps crashing in GB on my Gnote with chainfire3D set to none. and then when i did get it to load it was missing ****. on the screen. graphicly , any ideas??

Works but lags a bit but as the game progresses lags gets rarely.
So 90% working sometimes even 100% on stock gb unrooted device. But as game hav progressed the lag has got rare for me fantastic game

Runs great on GB here. Adjusting sensitivity makes it pretty decent to control.

Has anyone else noticed a lack of smoke and lighting effects in nova 3? I can turn them on by using chainfire, but gameplay suffers from artifacting, fps drop and other glitches. I'm on the latest skyics if that matters.
I wouldn't mind so much except there is a significant difference in draw distance in multi player which is important if you have a sniper rifle.

With full effects? Can you see the steam off the gun when you fire and the motion blur when you sprint?
I've tried cleaning off the entire phone, sd cards and all and reflashing skyics, I still wasn't able to get full graphics without installing chainfire drivers, and I still get shader errors, specifically this one:
"indexing into an attribute using a non-constant expression is not permitted"
any ideas?

I've heard this from several people now, and it seems hard to believe that I'm the only one with this problem. Are you sure it's running with full effects? One of the things I noticed is that the full effects version always has a darker earth in the menu. Has this been your case?
I just want to make sure, because I've tried fresh installs of skyics, stock ucld2, and embryo with and without chainfire and am still having the same problem (no full effects in nova w/o chainfire, but shader errors with it installed)

see thats weird. I've never had fps that bad, without all the higher grade effects the game plays fine, high fps. There is a bit of a drop in fps with chainfire, but its mostly the shader errors that are the problem. I just don't understand why performance is so inconsistent for users of the same device. You would think all skyrocket users would have the same problem.

Hiya peeps, have some questions about changing the dpi on my transformer. Have been looking to download a good racing game eg, real racer2/3 gt racing ect but having no luck (not compatible). After doing some research i got to the conclusion that the compatability issue is down to dpi, right?. Well heres the next question, i have managed to get a download which appears to work up untill the screen res changes (i think) so would manualy changing the sreen dpi with a third party app allow it to run?. And finaly can anything go wrong using apps to change the dpi regularly?. Any help you can offer would be great TIA.

I don't think DPI is the problem, just downloaded RR3 on my tab and it works great!
What rom are you using?
Stock although I am rooted. Rr2 also shows as non compatible . Really wanna play this too. I am in the UK, is that an issue?

Im using cm10.1 on Brazil and it works great. Try to download an app called "lucky patcher" and patch your play store to be compatible with all apps.

Hi, back again. Have managed to get lucky patcher but to be honest i am not sure quite what to do with it. Can you give me some pointers on what it does and how to do it?. Custom Patch, remove lisence, change permissions, create modified APK?.

You have to select the play store app from the list. It will display custom patch if you are using one of the latest versions. Then it will present you with an option to unlock the compatibility with every app you want.
