[Q] Any other Wind Canada users planning on importing the T-mo Sensation?

Hi,
Wondering if there are any other members out there who are importing the T-mobile Sensation 4G into Canada?
Maybe we can share our experiences and figure out the best options.
The device will have to be sim unlocked, thus far there has been only one confirmed site to have working unlock codes.

Lowest price online is $579.50, but still in pre-order state. I am assuming that will change on the official release date of 06/15

Unfortunately it wasn't unlocked but I will definitely try the unlocking site you provided since It seems to have worked for one individual.
Shipping was $19 for USPS priority mail, so I paid a total of $609 USD
Hopefully the strike wont affect my package.

goin' to florida months end and will pick one up there and ask them to unlock it seeing that i'm canadian (may work)!! then try it on wind and see how it goes...

if anyone finds a good deal that ships to Canada pls let us know too

I have a US social security number as I went to college in California. I will try to get it on contract and cancel after 15 days. With ETF it will be close to $400.

Got mine from omega cellular (i. Think thats the name) in Edmonton. Paid 650 i beleive plus $10 overnight fedex. Came unlocked. Works perfect on wind.

So a quick update on my end.
I ordered the phone off expansys.ca on Friday night.
Not the cheapest of sites, but felt it was worth it in case of issues and I need to do returns/exchanges.
With HST it came to ~$671 (I also paid for express shipping)
Its supposed to come unlocked.

If you're in Vancouver, you can buy it from CellworldCo for $529 + tax unlocked! That is cheaper than the T-mobile price of $550 + $20 for unlocking.
They ship elsewhere in Canada for $30.

I bought mine at pacific mall $600 no tax with free car charger. its sim free unlock. There is another sttore at pacific mall that sells it for $600 tax free with free car charger, screen protector and case but they were out of stock.

Ahhh good to know there are still nice deals to be had at Pacific Mall... Haven't been there in years

So my sensation order with expansys is not going so well. After jumping through hoops today to get the alternative shipping address cleared they said the bank won't authorize the charge?
So I think I am going to cancel this order and give cellworldco a try unless there are better deals out there?
Too bad I'm not heading to Toronto anytime soon or I'd give pacific mall a shot, does anyone know if those tiny stores have a website?

[Q] Sensation Cases in Canada

This a weird request/question,
Does anyone know of a store that sells the HTC Sensation 4G cases (TPU or any other kind) in Canada?
I WOULD buy from ebay, but for the US citizens out there that don't know, there's a postal strike on, and I can't find anyone who ships via FedEX or UPS...
Any stores/locations would be great,
Or if one of you wants to sell one via eBay to me, with FedEX/UPS shipping, that would be awesome too.
I'm thinking if no one has any, I'll wait a few weeks until Bell starts selling, and just go into a Bell store and try there.

im in the same boat, canada post really ****ed me over on this one, and the TMO store i bought mine at didnt have any accessories available at the time...
hopefully some cell fone kiosks in malls will have some, just gotta look :/

I will post pics tomorrow night when I have access to a camera. Don't got 1 at the moment.
No product link, I bought it at one of the many phone stores at Pmall. It's the one in the "middle" aisles that is closer to Steeles.
It's near SIG Electronics, and it sells Mobilicity plans. It usually has a table outside their store selling some random long distance plans.

Well the back to work bill finally got pushed through so Canada Post should be back soon, then ebay choices should be available again.

I really like the look of the Cruzerlite Persona cases and I want to order one, but on their site shipping is $12 to Canada, which is almost as much as the case. Do you guys know any other places to get it that offers reasonable shipping to Canada? The one I am looking for is the UK Flag.

I have tried searching. They don't have it on Amazon Canada or Ebay.

You Canucks have it tough when it comes to buying accessories, try emailing the maker to see if they have a stockist in Canada you can use.

Where are people getting their S IV

So now the S IV has been rooted. People have had their hands on it for a little while.
eBay sellers still show pre-orders. Can't find a shop with stock since the phone hasn't been released.

Rooted?
S4 isn't for sale anywhere - but in Denmark you can make a pre-order in about 20 shops at the moment. First delivery end of April.

Right and stores in Germany and the UK are also taking pre-orders.

I think the problem is the s4 is running with selinux kernel. Somehow the security has to be disabled.

Does BestBuy have an advantage over AT&T? I am asking because I am trying to decide if I want to go through AT&T to buy mine or another brick & mortar store. I'm not going to buy online because I want to be able to physically see and hold what I will be buying in this case. I plan on buying it at full price, but that might change if I can get a deal on a plan if I subsidize it through AT&T.

They usually charge less. Also if you get their warranty, it's much better. Covers everything and you don't have to pay for a replacement or repair.
AND, the next time you purchase a phone, they will buy the old one back. Usually not as much as you'd get on eBay for it, but could help defray the costs of your next phone.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like a pretty good place to buy from but I am a little unsure if BestBuys is going to even be in business in 2 or three years when I go to get another phone. I guess its going to come down to how much less they can sell them for versus AT&T.

Help needed importing a Samsung Relay to Germany

as i can see, most of us here went the G1 -> G2 -> Relay way.
unfortunatly i'm sitting here in germany where the Relay is not available. and all attempts importing one so far failed. amazon doesn't have it in stock, ebay sellers don't ship overseas etc.
Can anybody help me aquire such a phone? Either get me one and send it to me or point out a dealer that ships to germany?
Any help would be much appreciated.

you have 3 options
1) negri electronics (they are trustworthy, i got my doubleshot from them)
2) canada gsm (never tried, and you gotta mail them to sort out the international shipping stuff before you order)
3) ebay
of course, going with ebay is the less expensive but the most risky option. i got my relay from ebay, i had to camp ebay.com for a while and message all the people that had a good auction open (try to stay away from fishy stuff that may be stolen or just a scam) and ask if they would ship oversea.
most of them do not, but some do, it's just a matter of patience.
keep in mind that you will have to pay the duties for importing goods, and they will probably be quite hefty, hovering around ~100€ if you go with a shop like negri electronics

The main reason why ebay sellers don't ship overseas, is due to customs and shipping. USPS Express mail, is the only way you can ship internationally with tracking. But some countries simply won't allow those shipments.
And the hassle of dealing with problems if something goes wrong...

i do a lot of international trading via ebay, but rarely with the US. but do i get this straight: in a country as large as the United States there is just one carrier which offers sending insured parcels overseas??? hard to believe...

this is incorrect information.
first of all, customs duties will be paid by the buyer when he receives the package. the seller won't even know how much will be paid.
second, you can ship overseas with any major courier like FedEx (i recommend), UPS, DHL and of course USPS which will then be handled by your local postal service.
about stuff going wrong (in the shipment phase) there isn't much if you pay with paypal and make sure the shipping is made via a trustworthy courier with a tracking number.
of course after you have got the phone, you'd be on your own if it has some problems but if you do it right the shipment shouldn't be that much of an issue

negri was out of stock so i just placed an order with canadagsm. camping ebay didn't work for me since i've already tried that one for some weeks.
as the story continues, i will post updates as others might be faced with the same situation

What about a service like SHIPITO?
I am from Czech Rep and have a luck that many of my colleagues are flying to US on regular basis but this service could be used just for this very special purpose.

about canadagsm: i wrote a couple of mails with them back and forth about shipping and conditions and after everything was sorted out i told them that i would like to order. no answer from them now for 2 days. seems like it's back to the drawing board. :-/
found an ebay-seller who's willing to ship to germany, but auction is still up for 3 days... and dunno how that will turn out.
anybody can suggest more online stores that will ship to germany? spend an hour or two torturing google and co but it's hard getting any results since search results are filtered by location. and i guess i cannot deny my german IP ^ ^
found a couple of phone stores but they were either out of stock of didn't have the Relay listed at all.

weird that canadagsm stopped responding. anyway negri has written on its site that it is on backorder, and that they usually ship backordered items within few work days (they probably will just buy a phone then unlock and ship it) so i think you can try and ask them.
if you wanna go the ebay way, make sure you buy a perfect (mint) condition phone, no bad imei, and that the seller will ship with tracking to you. (and, ofc, paypal payment)

yeah.. it's weird about canadagsm.. took them an hour to reply to the initial mail. but now: nothing. already re-sent the mail twice..
will contact negri when i get home since the phone on ebay dissapeared without a trace all of a sudden..

Ebay india has a sevice called 'global easybuy'. One can buy anything from ebay usa (irrespective of the seller ships internationally or not) and ebay will deliver to your doorstep. Shipping, customs etc charges are included at the time of payment and are quite nominal. Look for 'global easy buy' on ebay germany. Hope they have this service.

thanks for the offer, nardholio, but i've got lucky on ebay. cell was $305, shipping was $45 via usps... and other means of shipping were clearly un-affordable.
brand new and sealed... and locked ^ ^ but that should be the least problem
let's see what the custom fee will be...
5 days and it made it to san francisco so far.. i guess that's why they call it "snail mail" ^ ^
