Hi mates!
Surely lots of us, have seen that if you install credentials certificate for WiFi connection (University protected 802.1 WiFi or Office ones) on Android ICS 4.0 you have to use one unlock method between:
-slider unlock
-password
-PIN
In fact you can't use anymore any other kind of unlock which is not "protected" by a sort of password.
On Gingerbread 2.3, the same installer needs to retype the password of the archive at every reboot (maybe even worse than ICS)
I'm asking for someone able to create a MOD which can allow user to use all the unlock methods, even with a credentials certificate installed.
I don't know where the magic needs to be done, if in the Kernel or in the framework.

Hi all,
Been trying to find a "password safe" app for storing my passwords securely (I'm getting fed up with forever using forgotten password and getting memorable date etc wrong), when checking through reviews of the password apps etc they are all old, anybody using an upto date password manager app on Android they can recommend?

i keep my passwords complex but i only have two or three different ones. If i need to password change, i will go out to the other sites/programs and change it there too to stay uncluttered. i don't trust password apps. sorry i cant be much help.

Well I have just gone for the Safe In Cloud app, the reviews are good, despite the name it does not store your passwords on the net, but was designed it would seem for people who do not like their passwords stored on somebody elses server (despite the fact they are on dropbox backed up).
All that said I have to say it has a cracking UI, easy to read and easy to setup, sync with dropbox and drive but no other link to the web. From what I have seen of the encryption is OK aswell.
Looks good, if you do not want it linking to the internet at all just block it with permissions denied from linking to the internet..

I use aWallet for long time. Very good app.
Lastpass is the best by far, do not be fooled by how unpolished the Android app looks.
Secure Password Vault
It's darn near perfect. Built by a former BB user for former BB users.
Until recently, it had NO permissions at all. Now he's added a permission for you to email the encrypted file to yourself as a backup. None of your information is stored anywhere except it that file.
You need to at least consider this app. Owner is very support driven also, I've email with with him on more than 1 occasion.

The app or the rewards program? You would have to check Bing about that, but the app will work on any android and is in English

Using the app it works for me. Only one issue don't know if it can be fixed when I rotate my display the app just kinda stops if its searching and it rotates it stops

Sorry about that. I disable my rotate screen so I didn't realize it. Here is a version with it locked to portrait view.
The reason it stops searching is because the activity(screen you see) gets destroyed then remade when the screen is rotated. All apps work this way. Its just whether or not the dev builds a "resume" type feature to continue where it left off. Which I didn't and probably won't.
Just install the update over the one installed to keep registration.

Small update. I enabled the autorun for the free/unregistered version. Only drawback is you can only do a max of 10 searches. But it helps determine if its working and worth registering for you. Check op for link. Thank you

52 downloads and no feedback? I'm not sure if thats good or bad... Anyways, here's an update that gives the app a help screen. Also in the works, an option to add multiple accounts.

Once its running, you will be able to add as many accounts as you want, with the option to enable/disable each one but still keep it saved. Then auto run will run for each one enabled.

I managed to get it to work how I wanted last night. To keep your information more secure, I've made it so it stores a cookie for each account you want to add, instead of saving your info to a file. So by tonight, I hope to have it ready for download. This feature will not be available for those who do not register.

I'm having a hard time with this. I'll be able to make say five accounts and they'll all autorun? (I typed autorub and got a giggle. Its note worthy). Also no feed back is good people remain silent if things are working usually they just come out of the woodwork with issues.

What are u having a hard time with? But yes, u can make as many accounts as you want and it will run them all. Gain 15 points daily on 100 accounts if u want. Once I finish the feature.

I'm getting an error when i try to run the new 2.0 version. It says:
An error has ocurred in sub:main_activity_create (java line: 361)
java.lang.RuntimeException: Object should first be initialized (Checkbox).
Did you forget to call Activity.LoadLayout?

Hi All,
I have had a Smartwatch2 for a week now, and noticed that over the last few days I no longer get any twitter @ replies or mentions pushed to the watch (using the Sony Smart Accessory). Also when managing the twitter preferences I experience a lot of FC's (could be due to the number of followers etc?).
My question is , how is everyone else handing notifications , using the individual plugins , or a third party app (i tried Watchit , but nothing ever got pushed).

I've been using watchit! both with the smartwatch 1 and 2... works great once you tweak it. remember you have to enable it in accessibility like the instructions indicate, otherwise it will not work.

Cheers - do you use any of the sony watchapps , or just let watchit control all the notifications you want?
It will be great if the notification counter would be visible on the digital clock in standby.
So i don't press button to control notifications.
This is a very good suggestion, a functionality that I don't think should be too hard for Sony to provide.

Its a paid App, but i like it much more.
I tried watchit, but i must disable the Message Information for every App manuelly. I will only get notifications from whattsapp. So i must disable 200 Apps!
Then i tried WatchNotifier and there i have an option to disable all Apps at once! Great, fast, stable and no problems. And 1,49 Euro are not much money.

Ant suggestions for an app for emails? There is already a task extension for gmail. But I need one for regular work emails. I am not on an Xperia. The standard email task extension won't work on a non xperia device.

The free k9mail extension works very well on the SW2, but of course one must also use k9mail on the smartphone as email client.

Yeah! Watchit is really good and free! I turned off all apps notifications by default and only had to select one by one those I wanted to be notified. And it's awesome. The only thing I miss is to be able to get rid of the default notification app of the sw2 ?

I added an exchange account to my one yesterday, to ARHD 3.0 with no modded Exchange - I was not prompted to add additional security at all.

Would you normally be prompted? My exchange account is through my employer and security is enabled. I'm on ARHD as well but it prompted me for a PIN. After flashing the patch it did not.

Anyone having issues? I flashed, wiped cache, and app data and get force close when trying to open the app. Someone have the original mail apk so I can at least get it working? Only thing I've flashed is the system writable and swipe to screen off mod.

Did you try to clear the data and cache from the app? Go to Settings > Apps and clear the data and cache from Mail and then reboot and see if that works.
I deleted all my accounts from Mail before I went and flashed the ZIP and it worked fine.

I tried that. I ended up factory resetting and that worked. I think it was the HTC backup restoring accounts that messed it up. Sorry to clog the thread with some bs.

As somebody that works in Infosec this disturbs me. Please be aware that if you install this, and your company suffers and Unauthorized Disclosure or Breach that was caused by you bypassing controls will probably result in your termination.

I think a-lot of companies are catching on and requiring MDM software to be installed on your phone. My employer started requiring AirWatch. At that point I decided to accept a company iPhone as I didn't want them having that much control over my personal device.

I've talked to the exchange administrator and he told me they do not have any security setting enabled on the server side. This is a known bug in the Android email app that it requires a pin regardless of the server settings.

Yeah. It may be a bug that requires it no matter what. But, I know we enforce a pin and encryption which makes flashing a pain. Just want people to be aware there are consequences to using this.

Sure. I'm rooted and have run ROMs while encrypted. It is more difficult to flash as you cannot access encrypted storage from Recovery. Most flashing has to be done via adb sideload.
Many Companies will not only enforce the encryption and PIN but will also block rooted phones.

I actually found best compromise, Nine app is in my opinion, best exchange client, allows me to set PIN on app instead on device, no rooting required, syncs to native contacts and calendar app...worth every penny!
