Hi,
Does anyone know how to add this bootanimation from UOT kitchen and keep the beats animation too for ARHD 6.6.4XE?!
I need to rename the downloaded zip to bootanimation.zip and place in the data/local/ folder and change the permissions to....??? (how do i do this btw?)
Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks for all your help!
You need to use a file manager with root permission, I personally use ES file explorer. You can copy files and change permissions.

What are the permissions needed for each folder/zip? And if I were to replace the .png files within the bootanimation.zip with the ones i dl'd, will it still keep the beats animation that follows?

On the new OTA, i want to change the Droid! sound to daft punk's "Human!"
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
i would like to change this as well
I'm not trying to be a a$$ or anything but if you search for it, it is in these forums.
remember once you edit the desc.txt file with your sound you need to push it in recovery (mount /system) to /system/customize/resource/
also for skyraider you need to rename the file VZW_Droid.mp3
PS. Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=708316
also note we are 480-Width of the animation & 480-Height of the animation

Seriously bro... I'm on xda ALL DAY... I do plenty of "researching."
I'm looking for what Scuccia had done in aiccucs:
"Modified /system/CID/default.xml so bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 will run from /data/local/"
Nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to respond.

Here is the Sprint boot animation and sound. Unzip the files, there are 2: bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3
Use ADB or something like Root Explorer to drop the two files into /system/media folder.
Additionally, check under /system/customization/resource to see if your ROM or a theme has placed a bootanimation.zip file there. Just copy the supplied bootanimation.zip there as well if so.

thank you
Does anyone know how to change the boot animation on the gingerbread infinity rom? I tried using rom toolbox app to change the boot animation. It succesfully installs it but the animation never changes. Any clues on how to fix it or other methods?
yes you can download a different boot animation and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Then with root explorer move the file to system/media.Replace the original one (remeber to back it up) and just reboot
how to change bootanimation...

search in the internet for a bootanimation of your choice (or extract it from another rom)
on your phone go to: system/media/bootanimation.zip,
(rename "bootanimation.zip"to whatever.zip).
now in system/media put the new bootanimation.zip you downloaded,
make sure is .zip and named bootanimation ,reboot your phone Enjoy.
If I helped it the thanks button please...

I ported this boot animation per a request for the DNA, then was asked by another XDA member (box of kittens) if I could make it work for the One XL as well. I've never messed with the One XL before, but these aren't too difficult to do, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Please note that the Installation Instructions are just copy/pasted from my DNA thread, but they should be pretty much the same for the One XL. If someone would like to confirm or provide better instructions I would be happy to update this OP.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Copy to your device
- Use a root explorer (I use ES File Manager) to navigate to /system/customize/resource/
- Rename the current boot animation file by changing the file extension from .zip to .bak or .old
- Copy/paste the new boot animation file into the /system/customize/resource/ folder
- Open the File properties and make sure Group and Other have Read permissions (rw- r-- r--)
- Reboot and enjoy

Here is a link to my Droid DNA post which contains some other boot ani's. They will not work on the One XL, but if anyone is interested in getting them ported over feel free to hit me up.

Thanks again...the installation instructions work perfectly... But there was two bootanimation.zip's in there originally but I changed both of them to .bak and renamed this one and set the correct permissions and it worked great
The only place I was able to locate a file called "bootanimation.zip" was in /system/media, as searched in ES File Explorer. This is on a Sense-based ROM (RebelROM) not sure if/how it would differ for different ROMs. I followed the instructions with this folder path instead, renamed your file to bootanimation.zip, changed permissions, but the same boot animation remained there. Is this only for AOSP/CM-based ROMs?
EDIT: I decided to try to put the same bootanimation.zip file in the /system/customize/resource/ folder just for kicks, same result.

I downloaded RebelROM and looked around the zip file... you are right it is in the system/media/ folder, but the schema is different.
Try this file instead and let me know if it works. Follow the same instructions, but put it in the /system/media/ folder.

scholastica sorry for my translation, but I've tried this. I do not work so I leave this issue here. then, I have put a bootanimation already put me at the time of placing a CWN recovery. I can remove if I go to this address: system / bin / bootanimation. okay? then .. that I did it? get this file that has no file type online. for example, take it from a rom cwm and replace to give the necessary permissions as the other files in the bin folder. not achieved and I change the bootanimation. moreover, scholastova the bootanimation.zip folder. I've tried other directions. I do not remember. I have watched many tutorials and I get nothing.
I can not do that ...

Ok, let's try again. First, go to system / bin / and open file: bootanimation with text editor. Find text: bootanimation (see attachment). As you can see, the name of bootanimation file is not bootanimation.zip but bootanimation_mtk.zip. Now do the same thing, may be you have to change the name of bootanimation.zip file to something else. CLUE: Follow the address and the name as written in system / bin / bootanimation file.
I hope it works!
