[Q] Problems connecting to Kies - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi (no Infrared!!). I downloaded Kies onto my Windowsxp PC but I can't get a connection.
I went through the checklist.
I'm using Sandboxie so that might be the problem. I'm so reluctant to install yet another massive waste of space that this is - more bloatware like ITunes. That's why I use Sandboxie.
Or is there a lighter alternative that I can also use when I need to update firmware and do other system routines?
I rooted it successfully.
(Why did I buy a tablet without a USB port or HDMI???)

[Q] Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Docs to Go PC Sync

Hello everyone!
I just purchased a SGT 7.0 Plus. I am trying to sync my PC with Docs to Go 3.0. Updated everything to current versions, checked DTG website, restarted devices, updated Kies, etc, etc. I keep getting 2 errors.
First error says it took to long to sync or there was an error.
Second error says they are already paired and I need to delete from devices.
I am able to use my SD as a mass storage device in explorer but I can't get this thing to sync. Not rooted yet but soon. Can anyone help me with this?
Trouble syncing GT 7.0 Plus and Docs-to-Go
I had the same problem trying to sync, and the same error messages. When I retried to connect, the Docs-to-Go desktop said the GT7+ was already connected, to remove the desktop profile on the Android, and reconnect. But it didn't show up anywhere on the GT7+!
Then I thought of a way to get my file to my laptop: I simply opened a window to the file and dragged it to my laptop! [My Computer --> GT-6210 --> Tablet --> documents (filename.doc)]
I found it best to use Samsung Kies in order to do this (I connect my GT7+ to my laptop using Kies and the supplied USB/power cable), or find some other way to connect the two computers. I suppose one could use a USB flashdrive with the connector, or remove the microSD card and read the file from that into another computer.
Dataviz technical support states that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 can not be synced to their desktop; I assume they didn't have a 7+ to test, but it's the same story. I'm going to keep on using Docs-To-Go on my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, and dragging my files onto my laptop to edit and print. Hope this helps.
Actually got a reply back from dataviz. Said since Samsung has altered the mtp transfers it won't work. They are looking into it vmbut cannot guarantee a solution. Hopefully they do. I have a work around for now but the sync isbthe best part of docs to go. We will see in time I guess.

[Q] Connecting samsung tab 10.1 to PC

HI
I know there must be a lot of this around, but I was unable to find it. So here is my question:
Is it possible to persuade my galaxy tab 10.1 to work like a lot of smartphones when it comes to USB connectivity. With that I mean that when I plug my htc into the computer I get a question how do I want to connect to the PC:
-disc drive
-htc sync
-charge only
-etc.
Because when I plug my Tab into a PC it starts to connect but then fails i.e. it only says it is MTP connected, but the PC does not recognize it. I am not talking about my computer at home, but about a random computer that does not have al the kies and other software installed on (like computer at my work).
I am sorry if this is already explained but i am a really bad newby in all this android stuff.

[Q] S4 Mini GT-I9195 not being detected :(

Hi there. I've bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195 few days ago and I want to be able to transfer files through my Samsung Micro USB cable. In order to do this, I need to install Kies and Samsung Drivers, which I did. I've connected my S4 Mini to the computer via the Micro USB cable. All I can see is the word "Connecting." I can only see my phone's name. I've waited several minutes but still no result.
I've researched online on how to fix this. Some say to install drivers so I've re-installed drivers, still no result. Others say to install the older version so I did. Still, I get this 'Connecting', message. Some people told me to turn off USB Debugging so I did but this made the phone undetectable. So I've turned it back on again. I've even downloaded some USB Mass Storage 3rd Party apps but it still doesn't work. When I plug in the micro usb cable to the computer via the phone, I can feel the phone vibrate but no detection. I've tried multiple computers but still it doesn't work. I've even rooted and downloaded 3rd Party mass storage apps (which requires root) but still it doesn't work. I have a Mirco SD Card. Could you please give me a solution? Thanks.
P.S. I don't want to transfer files over the WiFi as my router WiFi keeps on disconnecting loads of time. This is annoying and sooo slow especially when I'm trying to transfer large files. Please guys gimme a solution. I don't wanna return this phone as it's a much better upgrade from the iPhone 4S. Thanks.

i got this solution for you first plug you usb cable direct into motherboard port and then goto settings on phone tap more under data usage select tethering/hotspot and turn on usb tethering and therye you go computer should id now
solution found!!
forget about all kinds of "specialists", forget about those who are trying to sell you useless program to detect and fix usb port!. I had the same problem - my PC , my netbook didn't recognize my Galaxy s4 mini, I think after firmware update. Just remove the battery from your phone ,install it back and everything works!

[Q] Kies associated services Note II (Sprint)

I have the Galaxy Note II (sprint SPH-900C) and it is rooted. I wanted to stop the bloatware from running so I took some advice here and froze all the apps I did not want to run and some that were listed as safe.
When I attempt to connect to Kies wifi it will not connect or discover my laptop. So I went back in and unfroze the Allshare Cast, Allshare Dongle and Allshare service. Now it will locate my laptop and the Note says connected, the laptop says connected and downloading but does not ever populate and eventually disconnects, So it does not seem to fully connect and load the data like it does on USB, I want to connect to Kies WIFI again. My question is are all 3 of these necessary for it to connect or more importantly, exactly what services are required for the Kies WIFI to connect so it will work again and I can still have unnecessary services frozen.
This does not impact connecting to Kies using the usb, that works fine regardless which of them are frozen. So did I miss one that I need for it to fully connect?
A little more information, Kies air, using the wifi and the browser will connect and load fine with the 3 allshare services unfrozen, it is the kies and kies lite that will not load, but they say they are connected.
Any ideas? I am thinking maybe I froze a 4th service that it needs and I am not aware of it. And kies is not frozen, I did not touch it.lol
I hope I provided enough information for a decent idea of the situation.

[Q] Galaxy Tab - Missing USB Settings

Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I did look at the suggested related threads and many other forums.
Ultimately, I am trying to root my son's Galaxy Tab 2 7" (wifi only) but I am falling at the first hurdle. When I plug the phone via USB to the laptop it claims the USB has malfunctioned and the device cannot be recognised, however, all my USB ports work perfectly. I have also installed the latest Samsung Drivers on the laptop (running Windows 8).
When I go to the Settings menu of the tab itself, there is NO USB connection settings at all, in any sub-menu and so I can't even check if it is set up to allow transfer. I have factory wiped in the hope that some updates removed this option, as I do recall (perhaps wrongly) that I was able to connect when we first purchased the device.
Is this a common issue with the Tab 2, or is it an issue with my set-up. If already known is there a solution, or is he doomed to walk stock for all eternity?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
If I'm not mistaken you actually want download mode, not usb, in order to flash a custom recovery via Odin. I think it's power plus vol down while plugging the phone to computer (phone is off).
