SIM Cover? - HTC One S

I am on T-Mobile USA HTC One S and after a few removals of the SIM cover it is loose now somewhat. I was wondering how I could get a replacement one or where to purchase one.

I actually lost my sim card cover and I cannot find one anywhere else, I tried to call HTC but they said that the phone is too new and they couldn't replace it. If anyone knows of a site that sells OEM parts hook me up

It says on the ebay link a few posts above that this is needed for your phone to work. That is a lie, I have removed mine and still kept all signal / wifi and even had a call without it..
i find that price a bit extortionate for a little piece of plastic.
Edit: A quick google search found this http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=233112&phone=229850 it works out about £5 cheaper, So surely if you look about some more you will find one with a reasonable price tag

Hey... I need a replacement cause I think there is an issue with the little mechanism that controls the power button. Can you PM me the number to HTC so I can get a replacement?
Thanks.

I totally agree....the s3 is gonna be like their other ****ty build devices....something that at least feels like its metallic. Remember the hd2 back...I mean HTC makes better looking and feeling phones. Hardware specs is debatable but I love this phone with the exception of the memeory card and battery deals. But no cases for me either....they take away from how great and unique the phone looks

[Q] Cheap replacement parts? (Battery and SIM covers)

Hi,
My battery cover and the SIM / micro SD cover, get pretty loss..
Probably because of the over use...
Any way.. I was looking for some replacement parts, but all I found was very expensive.. (about 20 box for full set..)
Can you help me find please some cheap parts?
I don't really care that they wont be original and be Chinese..
I'm looking for only battery side cover, and the bottom SIM slide cover..
I don't need the flash cover but if its part of a fine full set deal then bring it on..
Thank you,
Yarden.

Ebay is definitely worth checking - here in the UK, i got a replacement battery cover for just under a fiver.
Depending on the age of your device, you could also try sending a polite email to HTC support. A while back, I sent them message about my SIM/SD cover being loose, and they sent me a replacement at no cost to me. Took about a fortnight.
Official pricing for these parts (I've seen upwards of £15) can be quite extortionate...

Thinking back, I remember submitting a polite request via their support webpage, stating that my SD/SIM cover wouldn't stay in place, and asked about obtaining a replacement. I didn't actually demand anything, and they just sent out a spare.

My desire hd back body is bend as it fell down. where can i buy back body and flash lid as they are damaged I came across full back body housing costs 28 us dollars and its chinese I think so. In some online websites they have stated as original and few as OEM, which one should I buy.
Here one local repair centre person said if we buy chinese they might not fit correctly/exactly here and there might buldge or wouldnt fit part in appropriate position, since its too costly can any one help me by suggesting to get correct one! thanks. am from India.
If it says OEM the quality will be good as the original.
I just bought SIM and battery doors OEM in few bucks and the quality is great

white battery cover that is not gonna cost me 50 bucks?!

so i would really like to have my back cover replaced, mainly because i dropped it like skrillex... . anyhow, i would really like the black one with the red accents or a white one... but on ebay the prices are just soo much, a normal one is around 18 bucks, im ok with that but 30plus? i think is a little high, anyhow i just want to ask if anyone knows where is a good place with good prices to get either the white or black with red accents.
by the way im almost 100% sure they are all the same meaning the ones with red accents, beats audio is compatible with the tmo version and the other way around right?
good luck on that one i got my black and white covers for 50 on ebay

Well it's not just any back cover. It's "unibody" aluminum and it has our antennas in it
The only WHITE back cover I can find in the US is on an Ebay listing for $56 and says it's for the Sensation XE. Any idea if this will work for the USA TMO Sensation?
My cover has got some wear and scuffs too and I'm looking for a re-fresh. I found one Ebay listing that used to sell them for $29, then bumped it up to $39, then bumped it up to $49 and finally, bumped it up to $249!! He's sold one at $249.

Not so sure about that because Non-TMO Sensations (and XE's by extension) only has 3 antenna contacts vs 4 contacts on the TMO version. It might work but they included 4 contacts there for a reason so your mileage will definitely vary.

There's a thread that already discusses this, but in short, I use it with the 3 contacts and everything works. I am on tmous in Texas.
No one knows why the 4th antennae is. I just know it works with the three provided.

But then why you can get a normal one for maybe 17 bucks? But the white one is a lot of money and the beats one is 30 plus... I really don't see the why on the prices differences, I'm sure the cost to put some red accents or white plastic is not that much to justify it.

To be sure it's not your cover, take it off and press the power button without the cover. Be sure it's not the cover! Otherwise you'll just blow some cash for something you didn't really need! and yes, the power button is included as well as the volume
Just a bit of info, not every country that HTC in just sends a new back door.I'm arguing the toss with HTC UK because i need new volume buttons. They want me to send the whole device for repair as "they need to check serial numbers for warranty"

SO I called HTC up to see how much it would be to fix. The guy didn't know how much it would be because its so new, but "based on other phones similar, it would be around $140." I asked for a range, and he said between $140 and $180. So I sent it in. They just emailed me stating that it will be $200 to fix. Seems like a lot. But what do you all think? The quote said for the screen and casing, so maybe there was something wrong with the casing as well? At any rate, does anyone want to buy my one s when I get it back? lol.

This may be a long shot but you might be make to go into an AT&T and sat it won't turn on and they will do a warranty swap. In my experience they almost never check the water strips; I don't believe the HTC One X has strips due to its unibody closed design. Just to be safe shine a flashlight down the 3.5mm jack and the micro USB port and make sure there isn't any red or pink, yellow is ok.

All the AT&T stores I went into in the past ALWAYS check the water strips 100% of the time. Even with the phone like HOX or Nokia L900, there are water strips inside. I know for Nokia L900, it is located inside the micro SIM slot.
It's in the micro sim slot.
Man, that sucks. The real question now is, how much is a paperweight worth?

I am not expecting it to. However, it is still in rice. I am having a hard time bringing myself to put it back together and trying to turn it on. I have enough disappointment for the moment. If it does, I will sell it as working, revived.
Must say though, HTC did one hell of a job with the packaging. It's robust but you can take it apart with your hands and a thumb nail.

Ok. So today I decided to try it. It has sat in rice since I first posted. I charged it and turned it on. It works perfectly! I transferred the microSIM from my Rogers HOX and it works perfectly. So I have an unmarked, almost brand-new AT&T HOX for sale! Rooted and with 1.85.
I think I should buy a lottery ticke!!
Congrats dude. Haha, I would still buy the water damaged one for 50 though wish I had the funds for a backup One X.
Maybe I should sell that Atrix

BAD choice to try to submerse it in water. While there ARE visible tags that show water damage, there are others that you may (or may not) be aware of that you cannot normally see. My advice, DO NOT DO IT.
Why not inform them that the speaker no longer works correctly? Also sending in your phone to try to get a new one is a long shot, and you would do just as well to buy the same amount it would cost in lotto tickets that you would spend in shipping, then it would be that you would get a new phone with warranty beyond what you currently have left on yours.
What you would AT BEST end up with is a REMAN phone of the same model.
That's what i was afraid of. N i blew the speaker using the ReZound Mod And the manufactor has restrictions for speaker volumes. I already got a new phone from them so Idk if i can just take apart my old one and maybe pull the sodering off a transistor or unplug the screen. I pay for insurance but they wanted 200 for another replacement . n i'm not wanting to pay that for a reman

Putting it in water does not make it look like factory defect. It voids your warranty altogether.

Taking it apart would probably be a bad idea as well. Pulling the solder off 90% of the time leaves a bit of a scorch that they can see and can easily say it was user damaged purposefully.
Aside of an over volt either bite the bullet and pay the insurance, but remind them that the phone is NOW under a $200.00 cost and if they want to charge you the $200.00 that they should offer you a different device.
Or you could buy the screen & speaker parts and replace them your self. I've seen a new screen recently for under $50.00, and the speaker for right around $30.00

Or you could buy the screen & speaker parts and replace them your self. I've seen a new screen recently for under $50.00, and the speaker for right around $30.00

Well i thought about it and if ican find a resistor or something in the phone, i can probably make it look like it had a surge? Haven't had time to take it apart and see the hardware yet. but Considering i've been with att for 7 years and pay 100$ a month plus insurance i haven't used ever. I think they owe me a phone after buying 3 at the 700$ price b/c i lose them all the time.
They don't owe you anything, just so you know. Being a good, longstanding customer rarely gains any points when it comes to replacement phones.
Mucking about in the internals of the phone is a bad idea. If they look in there, they will almost certainly know what you did, and you'd be on the hook for the full price (which they can and will bill you after the fact).
Depending on how badly the screen is scratched, I'd personally say just live with it.
For the speaker, buy the parts and replace it yourself if you want to, leave it on vibrate all the time if you don't. I would not count on getting a free device.
Flash a rom from different phone model. Go in say you were upgrading to official ics

lol
As others have said, if you're intent on getting a refurb, restore to stock GB, then pull the plug during the Kies update to stock ICS. They're not going to give you a new phone, and AT&T owes you nothing. At best, they'd give you a credit towards a new phone if you don't want another Rocket. At best.

Either way will work. Flashing a Rom for a different phone will brick you for sure
