[Q] Phone has black screen with white triangles - HTC Inspire 4G

My htc inspire has 4 white triangle around black htc logo.
This happened because i tried rerooting my phone. The reason why i was rerooting my phone because I all the roms i downloaded from rom manager kept giving me the E: can't mount/cache/recovery and some other errors. Now all I can do is turn on my phone and see the htc logo and white triangles with exclamation marks. When i hook it up to the computer and then disconnect it, a white screens shows up with stuff like this:
ace pvt eng s-off hboot-0.85.2425
microp-0438 radio-26.06.06.30_M
....
....
.....
Then Ruu is highlighted in orange
Please help!!

Can you boot into recovery mode by power off your phone..then vol down and hold power for a few keep hold down vol down til it boots in bootloader and go.to recovery..
download a Rom through the threads not Rom manager for the time being and once you get your Rom d/l go into recovery advance mount USB plug in phone then view files add your Rom and flash..

First why are you still using rom manager no one uses that crap anymore. Download xda from market and get your roms directly from the forum. We all use 4ext recovery to flash our roms. What it looks like is you deleted your rom when you rerooted. As Cyrax said see if you can hboot up with power button and volume down at same time and enter recovery that way full wipe and flash your rom. Make sure you download a rom and place it in root of sd card first. May need adapter to add rom to sd.

You can use rom manager to enter recovery so you don't need your volume button for that. Flash your rom that way then get rid of manager. Latest Tom's will give you 4ext which you can enter by holdind power button like your shutting down but pick reboot then recovery to enter 4ext when ever you want to flash a rom.

problem while flashing first ROM

So I got around to rooting my Inspire 4G this morning using the one-click method, and I am about to flash my first ROM. I downloaded the MIUI ROM and added it to the root folder on the flash drive. At first I tried booting into recovery by pressing the vol down button and power, and it boots to h-boot but at first the buttons dont do anything (it wont scroll down when I press the volume up or down button) then it starts to search for PD98IMG.zip like it did when I was rooting. So I removed the battery and started up the phone, and removed PD98IMG.zip from the SD Card root. turned the phone back off and rebooted into H-Boot menu. And again it started looking for PM98IMG.zip but when it couldnt find the file, it went back to the H-Boot menu, so I scrolled down to "recovery" and hit the power button to select. Once I hit the power button I get a white screen that says "HTC" in green, the screen just fades away and turns black, there it stays, does nothing.
Where do I go from here??????
First post in the right place and second go read the general sticky

Im not sure why you deleted the zip file and or pulled the bat in hboot. However your gonna wanna go back into hboot and factory default your phone.
From there you will want to read the one click method or perform the root with the hack kit

I took the battery out because the phone was not doing anything. The screen also goes blank when I try to select factory default on the H-Boot screen.
I guess I will try to go back to stock using the guide in the thread
Ok so I am confused.
I just went back and repeated the whole process of the one-click root. When I go to flash a ROM on the phone, do I need to format my SD card before I go to flash a ROM? What specifically do I need to do in between rooting the phone and going to flash the ROM?
When I go into the ROM manager and try to reboot into recovery from the ROM Manager, the phone shuts off, reboots, shows a white screen that says "HTC" in green, then then screen fades away and turns blank and stays there.
when I go into the one-click rooting program, and try to go through the Eng S-OFF tool to see if it will fix the black screen it gives me an error that says "bootloader corrupt"

You probobly fried your EMMC chip when you removed your battery.
it would be best to return it in for repair.
I think you may have same problem with me before. No choice but to bring it to repair.

It was s-off before? Can you boot 2 recovery?
It's unlikely your chip is fried. This happened to my phone. You need to get into recovery - restart holding volume down button - and reflash a ROM, any one should do. The phone should reboot from there.
Edit: thus assumes you have a ROM stored on your phone, and you have Clockwork recovery or similar. If not, you can use adb to push a ROM to your card and reflash that. Adb comes with Android Developer Kit. Search!
Peace.

Same problem as topic poster, i,ve been messing a lot with custom roms on win 6.5 phones, but I havn´t done anything fancy on my Desire S , as to rooting or custom roms. (work phone!) Now I´m just curious as how I get a recovery going, when the PC doesent recognice the device when USB connected.
The eng-off file (mine is ON) with the .bat file cant connect to phone, and maybe im better off sending it to repair, but my pride wants me to solve it myself.
-Damn phone just went AWOL last night after an marked Angry Birds update, rebooted it a couple of times, because of a lot of process errors, and then all dead. (white HTC screen on -until morning)

Maybe best sending it in if that's a viable option.
You say it's not rooted? With stock ROM? If there is a ROM on the sdcard that you can boot then try that - power + volume up + volume down will reboot the phone, try pressing volume down as it reboots to get into recovery.
If you can't (by pressing volume down) then power off and restart (holding volume down). I had to do a battery pull to power off - if you do this while the phone is off as it reboots, and leave it out for 30 secs you should avoid any danger of bricking the phone (which has happened with some people when removing battery while phone is in this state).
Good luck!
Peace

"ROM on SDcard": what format would that be in? RUU.exe or?
I can get into recovery menu (HBOOT) but chosing recovery option results in "a green recycle icon with an arrow on black background" screen, a few seconds then it virbrates 6-8 times, and then fades to black, so to speak!
Factory reset option: Locks the HBOOT screen and nothing but a battery pull, will change that.
I MAY have pulled the battery and not left it out for the 30 sec bricking danger senario, that I wasn´t aware of, until resently.
So the diag. is that is probably bricked!
Thanks for the reply

Rom on sdcard would have to be *.zip to be flashable. If you're unrooted + stock then you won't have Clockwork recovery or similar.
Tough that factory reset doesn't give any joy. These devices.....
Looking like masonry then, unless someone else can help.
Peace

surprisingly i got the same issue yesterday after i installed proxuser's official htc rom. Everything started fine went through setup so i assume it's not because of the rom because i don't think the phone would've started up in the first place. Anyway i am about to try and install some different roms and have also copied a backup over from my other desire s.
Will let you guys know if it worked.

[Q] Sensation won't boot :( Please help..Anyone???

Hi all,
I recently bought a used sensation from ebay and now it won't boot. I allready read a couple posts in this forum. Did the adb reboot and adb reboot bootloader and didn't work. So I think it's not rooted. What exactley happens is, the will not boot. It stays blank and the led lights too, but when plug it into my laptop\pc, it gets reconized and able to install the adb drivers to it. The led lights are then lit and pressing the power button kills it for a second and then restarts. Getting the same connection to my pc but no boot. I then installed adb tools trying to reboot the bootloader, but when i type in adb devices, I get nothing listed. So when i tried adb reboot i get error: no device found
Just moments ago i installed a new jdk and currently installing android sdk to make a proper connection with the device.
Any advice?? Pff
I think it phone has been completely wiped so there is no any OA Rom installed. Try booting in to recovery then see if its rooted then install any custom Rom. The most safest way is install RUU from ur PC which restore it to original.

Run RUU from PC because it phone is recognized by pc that's best way.

can I use one of these stock ruu's?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1228648
Ok so from what I understand is that even without being in bootloader or recovery. Just by being connected, I can install stock ruu to my phone and then everything else? I'm downloading one of the ruu now
Ok from what i read, I cannot get into the bootloader or recovery cause it's maybe hard bricked. Is there a fix for this?

Ok sorry for the late reply. Due to my "lovely" bandwidth, I finally found the stock rom for my device, version tmous 1.45.531.1. I ran the setup and everything went fine, until i got an error error 1105 or something that it's not compatible with my device. How can that be if it'.s not from another vendor. It says t mobile on top lol. Does this mean that i'm screwed?
Still haven't got it to boot. Only led is lit when plugged in charger or pc. The screen stays blank and unplugged it does nothing. Only if there was a way to get it in fastboot or just to see life in my device
Hold volume down plus power button. You will be in fastbboot .
first press and hold the vol - button then just press the power button without holding it, but keep holding the vol -
wait 10 seconds
release the vol - button
press power button again
now you should be in fastboot
on your computer in command prompt type fastboot devices and see if your computer recognizes the phone

Cannot get into fastboot mode

I am trying to get a ROM flashed to my HOX for the first time, but I cannot get my phone to boot into fastboot mode. I help down the volume DOWN button and the power button. It reboots, but always takes me back to the ATT intro and then into the normal phone settings. Help?

Um what firmware r u on and that will get u into bootloader if you do it right...if you never updated to 2.20 you don't have to fiddle around with commands before flashing a Rom..easy way if you're rooted and have a recovery get goo manager and have it take u down to recovery from the reboot into recovery option
Go to Settings>Power-UNcheck the fastboot option......power off the phone and do the vol down then power again......it will work

Got it to go into recovery mode, but when trying to flash a Rom then it gets stuck at the red warning banner. I guess fur the sake of the threads title this is probably a closed issue and another thread needs to be made.

Cant enter recovery, stuck on HTC logo

Power button on my HTC One S stopped working to I decided to fix it. I discharged the phone completely and opened the phone. I got to the switch and it fall apart from the motherboard so I soldered it in place. I dont know what could cause this, but now The phone doesnt want to boot. Its stuck on HTC logo with red warnings. Phone was running great on TrickDroid 9.1.0 before the discharge/opening. However Im able to enter bootloader. I can use fastboot usb ( I triend to flash different boot.img and recovery but it doesnt help. fastboot show flask OKAY but still, phone doesnt want to boot. When I choose recovery from hboot It will reboot into htc logo without warning, the status bar in the corner will pass 2 times and after 30sec it will just reboot into warning logo.
I have HBOOT 1.09.
Does anyone know what happend?
Discharging the phone is bad. This is a common issue, especially if youre using CWM.
If you are using CWM - change to TWRP.

Great advice cuz in my opinion 'TWRP' is way better interface but can you give him more detail and I'm sure in this case he would not mind being treated as a noob, I would but I'm not as good as you and Darknites lol :good:

Its not good that its still looping after using a RUU but try factory reset or you can try just unlocking the bootloader and trying a custom rom.
