I have a new SGS2 recently swapped to ICS 4.0.3 via OTA update. Its rooted and running custom kernel. The problem I'm facing here is that my GPS is reporting my location somewhere in Qiuchangzhen, China whereas I'm located in Karachi, Pakistan which happens to be miles away.
- Switching off Wifi sometimes brings it back to my location.
- I've also used GPS Status and FasterFix which fixes it for a minute but later on the problem prevails.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since I cannot find any related thread regarding this issue.
Thanks,
JA.

Hey everyone, I have one weird GPS issue.
I am located in INdonesia, but my GPS locked me in China in both HTC Location and Google Map.
I am currenly using ARHD 5.0.2 but using the old RAdio. (because the new radio made my phone restart itself)
anyone with the fix for this?
I'm not sure about ICS and GPS issue but this may or may not work for you.
GPS Issue

Slow
I'm running Android 4.0.4 with the C&C ICS rom and although my gps works I've noticed that it is very slow when trying to find my location in things such as Maps. Is there something to flash or update to get it working/improve performance?
Either hardware fault or improper aGPS settings.
Hi,
Last night I flashed my One XL with Stock Rooted ICS 40 S hTC Asia HK 2.42.708.3, and I have noticed today that the GPS is on, but the phone is unable to find the current location, and none of the GPS dependent apps are able to pick it up.
I only flashed the rom.zip file, and nothing else. Everything else seems to be working very smoothly though. Also, I am using TWRP recovery.
Maybe I missed flashing any other file. Could someone please help! Thanks.
Hmmm, I just flashed this yesterday, but haven't tried using GPS yet. I'll give it a try later today and let you know how it goes.
It finally started working last night (without me doing anything), and all the apps are now detecting it. Google Maps showed some erratic behavior initially - the position was inaccurate, and kept jumping from place to place, but now seems to be stable. Also while using the GPS Test app, it showed that many sats were in view, but none were getting connected. It is connecting quickly and properly now.
EDIT: It is now not working again. GPS Test can't connect to any satellite. And other apps are showing incorrect position.
sup xda..
I've been experiencing a fault which I couldn't find on any other threads, but if I'm missing it please direct me to it.
First thing's first... I've been running CM10 stable, tried the default radio and various others.
So this is what happens - turn on navigation or maps, and it'll work for a moment, give me directions and locate me. 10-15seconds later, my position on the map has frozen and "GPS signal lost" is muttered. Reception on 4G and any network connection is lost as well. It'll stay out of action for about a minute, then pick it up again, and the whole failure starts over.
As mentioned ive tried various radios, the symptoms are the same.
I've tried a clean slate of CM10, the various nightlies etc to no avail, same problem.
Today I tried RebelROM (02122013.. android 4.1.1) - no issues! So I ask...
Has anyone else had this problem? Why might I be experiencing this on CM and not another ROM?
thanks
No one huh . Oh well I guess I'm one in a million.
I put a post on the CM forums about this but got no response. Surely I am not the only person with this problem... If anyone running CM10.1 does or does not have this problem please post.... thanks..
Thread: http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/73944-networklocation-only-works-on-wifi/
I have no idea where to post this so I am just putting it out there in the general area, as it isn't device specific at all. I have been Googling this for a while too but I cant find much reference to anyone else having the same problem.
The problem is:
When WiFi is OFF ONLY Google Maps can get a location from NetworkLocation (basically, cell towers). Nothing else will get a location.
When WiFi is ON Google Maps AND all other apps (Weather Widgets, cLock Widget, etc) get network-based location.
Please note having traditional GPS switched on or off makes no difference, When GPS is on and fixed it works great, no issues at all with normal GPS, this is only related to Network Location Provider (NetworkLocation.apk).
Its annoying as it means I have to keep GPS enabled, and it has to fix every time I want to update my weather widgets, as I cant ask them to use network location as I never use Wifi! And the whole point of it is that it updates when im out and about, not at home on my hotspot.
I just want to know at this stage, does anyone else actually have this problem? Or is it a known bug that I just did not stumble on after hours on Google...? I would track it down but I got no idea where to start.
Observations:
LG Optimus 2X, CM7, This problem does not exist!
LG Optimus 2X CM10.1, This problem exists.
Sony Xperia Z CM10.1, This problem exists.
This is using the latest offical GAPPS package from goo.im.
Tried play store 4.1.6 & 4.1.10 and also previous versions. No difference.
I am trying to find out if: its a cm10.1 bug, a gapps (networklocation.apk) bug or a jellybean bug.
