pantech element voip no sound? - General Questions and Answers

Elelment running stock android os. I have installed groove ip and setup with google voice. Callers can hear me but I cannot hear them, speaker nor bluetooth works. Any ideas? Outgoing and incoming calls works but no sound on incoming side.

There's a setting you need to change in GrooveIP to enable wifi tablet mode and it'll work.

Skype for PDA

I've got skype installed and running on my hermes over my wifi connection.
When I make a call its always on load speaker (hands free mode). Does anyone know how to change this so the call is like making a regular call where you have to have the phone to your ear to hear it...
Thanks
Mark
You can't. You could use the headset though if you need your calls to be private.

This will install newest bt stack.
I should also ask which ROM you're using. The newer ROMs seem to be a lot better.
I'd also like anyone who could to tell me which BT stack is included on the newer ROMs, like Nitro or vjgrace.

my ROM is WM6 by vjgrace v3.4
Again I could describe my Nokia BH-101 BT headset with handsfree functionality on WM6 by vjgrace v3.5. It works nice as headset i can hera incoming calls, answer them, call last dialed number. But I CAN NOT make it start voice calling, due to device itself - it does sounds special tone that means that voice dial is started, but my phone does not recognise it. by the way useing celetask - there is special feature - that alows you to redirect all sound to headset and it work. As for me i don't need it (you are to have special BT Headset for listening to music. This headset generates rather bad sound(but not voice).
So again
I can do:
makle calls,
answer calls,
dial last dialed call.
swap and hold calls.
I can not do:
make voice dial
any voice commands
What are the problems:
Everytime I answer the call not by the headset but via the phone it looses the connection with headset, so i need to restart BT service (or headset).
It happens even if I answer by headset but during the call i need to speak via phone then i press right softkey and choose "turn handsfree off" and aain phone looses the headset
In this case I I make new call but in right soft key menu "turn handsfree on" is not active
If it's possible to make phone speak contact's name litterally during incoming call so i could know who is calling me.
IRC, voice dialling with WM phones is a bit of a problem. I seem to recall reading about this somewhere in the XDA-Dev forums.
On my headset, the function that calls for redial is the same for voice dial (wtf? I know.) It always redials.
As for the speaking of the contacts' names, it should be possible... if your phone can speak the contacts' recorded voice names w/o BT.

SipDroid

I found that both SipDroid and 3CX Phone for Android both play the calls through the speaker and not the earpiece. Also, neither will play through the Bluetooth earpiece. I'm gussing this is a problem with the X10 since I have other friends using both without a problem on different phones.
Anyone have a work-around for this or a SIP program that does work on the X10?
Thanks
The workaround for me is to set sipdroid in speakerphone mode, this gets the audio routed to my bt headset, but I need to use the phone mic. This is the best I can do now, until my phone, a Samsung Captivate gets updated to Android 2.2.

possible bluetooth bug when using voice dialing.

I noticed what could be a bug regarding bluetooth and voice dialing. When the screen is locked and I use voice dial it would always route the call to the speaker phone instead of the Bluetooth. After doing some digging I noticed this happens when I have media unchecked. When I have media check it wouldn't route my calls to the speaker phone. This is very annoying and I don't know what to do to fix it. I don't always want to have media checked because I don't like having notifications playing in my ear all the time.
Are you calling via Google Voice?

Yes I am
There's a Google Voice option to use BT to record audio. Maybe that would help here (even though you're concerned with audio output rather than input).

Problem with Skype on OOS 10?

Hi guys.
I have a problem with Skype app on OOS10. Other side of conversation doesn't hear me, when conversation is made with speakerphone mode on. When i made a test call to "Echo/Sound Test Service" with speakerphone mode on, it was the same - i couldn't hear my voice, just distortions. It's not the problem with the microphone, because i've checked it with voice recorder and in google duo, and i could hear myself from both microphones. However Skype conversations with speakerphone mode off (default) are just fine. Could anyone verify this behavior on his own device for me please? Before system upgrade I was making Skype video calls on OOS9 with speakerphone mode on, without any problems.
