Best Homescreen replacement?

I loved to use adw in the past but recently the updates made it unusable for me... so i am looking for a replacement...
Maybe i should just stick to an old version of adw (i unfortunatly didnt backup mine before updating)
So what are you guys using?
Ps: and please dont tell me to google or "this thread already exists" coz i want new information

Yea, ADW has started crashing on ocassions, its really annoying. Dont know what alternative is good like this.

ADW ftw! Never had an issue with it.

I for one am interested in trying the LG Optimus launcher once we get Eclair. Im an organization freak so the customizable app drawer appeals to me. Also looking forward to trying Launcher Pro Plus with Eclair. Currently using ADW and have no problems.

Have you not tried the "group" feature in ADW? Open the app drawer and press the menu button - choose group - New catalog, name it, choose apps to be in it, then when you go into the app drawer you just press the menu button and choose your new group.

I had been using Slidescreen pro since last 3 weeks and with facebook and Google reader integration working with it,i have laid Timescape and the old ADW launcher to rest in peace.
I can assure you would get a different experience once you start using it........

Yeah i use the group feature. I like it but the LG has all apps on one screen with groups seperated by heavy lines with titles. Im being fussy here is all ADW is by far my fav to date. Just looking to try something new.

what version do use use? - even in the market adw is getting a lot of 1 - star ratings recently because its damn bugged ...
ps: if any1 got an old version feel free to upload it ... i really loved it

After reinstalling adw today i havent any problems.
But before that reinstalling it was crap like you said.

damn i have to write somewhere in my profile that i started to code my own stuff when i was 15 years old ...
sure i tried to reinstall, delete settings, reset, just restart, play with different settings and i even tried to talk to it (j/k)... none of the things worked ...
can you do me a favor and try to press and hold the home key to switch between recent apps and then press the home key again?
everytime i do this i have to set it as default home again - this is way more annoying then the little crashes i experience all the time and for me it makes adw totally useless now ...

try LIVEHOME which is also a home screen replacement, nearly the same as adw but has a few more features, one of them is transitions, you can flick through you home screens like pages in a book (love it). Try it out.

ok after playing around a lot with settings i have to apologize to my beloved adw launcher
ok it still crashes a lot in the newer version but my main problem - that it cant remember the default home - is on the stock android homescreen too so i guess somehow my software is ****ed up *cry* ...
guess i have to reflash (god damnit this **** is more buggy then windows 95)
edit: btw livehome looks really nice ... i like that you can change the icons in the drawer

Update: after reinstall and some hours later i got crashes again and that home-button problem too.
Now i set only the adw-homescreen to "dont auto-rotate" and i have no problems now.

TouchWiz4 for Gingerbread Tab (Deodexed only) Updated 05/13

First off thanks to everyone from the various SGS forums for this, especially to fear2142.
This is the Touchwiz4 Launcher from the SGS2 ported to work with Galaxy Tabs running a DeOdexed Gingerbread based build (or latest Overcome based on GB).
Changes I made for the Tab:
Fixed XML's to support larger screen
Adjust size for workspace/edit screens
Set Launcher workspace to 6 rows/ 6 columns (fits good)
Set appdrawer to 6x6 layout as well
Adjusted to allow 5 shortcuts on bottom bar
How to install?
This is a CWM3 package, save to sd card, use recovery to install (choose zip from sdcard etc)
You must clear your dalvik cache after install.
Reboot, clear the application data for twlauncher to ensure it displays properly.
This is currenty setup for 240 dpi, I'm working on a version for 182dpi as I type.
*UPDATE*
Alright, I've attached the 182 version. Unfortunatly I just cannot get it to accept a grid any larger than 8x8.. though I suppose that's still 64 spaces right?

Screen rotation is not currently working

I was also able to get the sgs2 digital clock, and weather clock to isntall without issue. I didn't try any of the other apps though.

How do i get more or diff app on dockbar?
How do I change it so my dockbar icons, apps and message, do not cover up two seperate apps on every page in my drawer?
I have tried both your zips and both have these same issues.

Yeah good call, I neglected to mention that screen rotation is
not working at the moment..
To change the apps on the dockbar, open the application menu and do "menu key" and "edit".

know where I can get those (digital clock weather clock etc)?

You're going to need to add screenshots I think, cause I have no idea what you mean. None of my apps are covered by the dockbar shortcuts.
Are you running at 240 or 182 dpi like the OP says?

Agreed but i already flash it and waiting for my tab to boot on
its ok as long as u do backup before u flash this one

1st as u said no rotate
2nd i can't edit anything to the dock only apps and msg appears and i can't put the phone shortcut
is good , but need alot of ur good work
third , as long as i use launcherpro or launcher EX u can still rotate
only 2things need to be done on this launcher
1 fix the rotate
2 give us the free to change on it , like settings or something

Open the app drawer, press menu, press edit and move apps tobthe dock.

[Q] TW Laucher from EP1H debloated

Hi, can anyone extract the TW Launcher from de-bloated EP1H leaked rom, this is the only stock launcher I have came across that allow landscape mode rotation.

I know but then it takes notification away like the unread email count etc...the one in EP1H de-bloated has one which can give unread email, gmail, sms counts etc

under the dock settings you can have it notify call count sms count and gmail count....its only for the dock icons though not if you have an app elsewhere

Yes but it does not do it for stock email app...it makes me feel that some it is not as well integrated with the system as stock launcher, and i might be missing some thing which i do not know, that is why i prefer to stay as close to stock as possible

ur awesome!!! The second one worked!!! How do you know so much....I guess I must except I am getting old... But hey thanks a bunch...Now with EP1H and Eclipse's Rom on top of it with this launcher, I think I have the perfect phone so far..

No problem.

The launcher that came with p3droids debloated version is tw4.5 launcher. I have linked it to the cause of some of the reboots.
I an going to have a tw3 launcher with landscape mode on the next release.

Hey nitro, that is great news, If you are planning to release a new GB rom a lot of people will be happy

Download the beta 4 version of the latest launcher from the Go team which is called the 'Next launcher'. Looking at the features of the launcher i would say that its an amalgamation of the SPB shell 3D launcher and the TSF launcher. But the 3D look is awesome !

it consumes less ram.half than htc sense
i am still playing with it
i think it will be my next launcher
at least for a time

Root is not required for the launcher. I dont know what the issue is.

does anyone know how to put the htc sense's weather widget in that launcher because i am selecting it and it never loads it
or it works only with htc sense launcher?

pixel 3 modded launcher

Can't live without the pixel launcher no more, and the speed it adds to the p20 pro is superb.
Have been through pretty much every launcher and this adds to a better user experience.

You have to manually give all permissions before opening for the fist time.
Strange Huawei bug with many custom launchers it would seem.

The link in the op works on non rooted handsets (it did on mine anyway!)
Be sure to give the app all available permissions BEFORE you run it for the first time or it will crash.

How are you guys getting this to work? I installed Launcher3-aosp-optimized.apk then updated the permissions but I can't run it. I would have expected to just press the home button and it would ask which launcher I want to use but that doesn't happen.

In the settings app search for 'Default Apps' then select Launcher3 from the 'Launcher' option.
