[APP][2.1+] Gemini Issue Tracker App - Android Apps and Games

Hi guys,
after a lot of development I'm proud to present you the first version
of my Gemini Issue Tracker App.
For those who don't know it, Gemini Issue Tracker is a powerfull
project management and bug tracking tool from countersoft.
Here is a short list of the actual functionality of the app:
- Navigate through issues.
- Navigate through projects.
- Navigate through component.
- Select what you want to view after login.
- Open issues.
- Search for issues.
- Read issue description, properties, comments, watchers, time entries and history entries.
The App is still work in progress, future releases will allow users to add comments, log time entries and change the status/assignment etc of the issues.
I hope the App is usefull for anyone who uses the issue tracker.

Nice

did you try it out? Any comment would be appreciated...

Hey m0rph3us, just found the app on the market this morning and a bit of googling led me here. First off, thanks for making the app - it could be really useful for me. My initial comments (only had a brief look, strictly speaking I'm off work this week so shouldn't be logging in to Gemini at all!):
- only a small thing, but I'm used to typing my Gemini URL without the http at the beginning (I was putting an example here, but the noob/spam filter won't let me ) - the login kept failing, until I remembered to put the this in. As I said, not a biggie (and could also be described as user error ).
- I like the way you've laid things out and the general UI, one addition I would suggest would be an ever-present search box - I use the search a lot on the full site, and will likely be the same in the app.
A couple of additions I'd personally like would be:
- Include issue creation date when viewing search results, and also in the general tab when viewing the issue
- It would be nice to be able to have an option for the default view when logging in - at the moment it defaults to My Work, my preference would be Projects, and others would probably say something different again...
- The addition of a tab for attachments when viewing an issue would be nice too.
Overall, for a first release I have to say I like your work - all the basics are there and seem to work fine, so thanks again! You should approach Countersoft with it

[APP] Task Identifier [Android 2.1 and up!!!]

!!!If you have Android 2.1 the app now is in the market!!!
Android 2.2 and higher are also still supported
This is not another Auto Task Killer, no.
Thanks for all the help from everyone! We've moved into a lite and full version now on Android 2.2 and 2.3 phones. This is a new program which allows the user to specify alert levels to phone tasks and give you insight into what your phone is really doing. Make a call, ever wonder what apps may be listening? What's going on when you phone is in standby? In creating this, I will say that I've been surprised a few times at what is really going on. I want any and all feedback as well as we are trying to make this into something special. I am the actual developer of this app.
The full version has:
-Common Names and Actual Application Icons
-No Ads
-Access to all App Settings
-Ability to change alert level from List Tasks
-Removed Internet and Location Permissions
And we have a slew of other features planned for only the full version, but we don't want to spill the beans on those quite yet, but they will enhance the tool greatly!
Both versions now have the new UI as well.
Anyone who had the beta should be notified to upgrade to the lite version now.
Download Task Identifier Lite from your phone:
market://search?q=pname:com.task.identifier
Download Task Identifier Full from your phone:
market://search?q=pname:com.task.identifier.full
I've also attached a QR Code to scan for both versions. Or just search for Task Identifier in the market.
I hope you all find this useful and enjoy!!

Hehe, I like how the only comment for the app (5 stars and "awesome" as comment) is currently by a user named 'x2k'. Hmmm.
I've just installed it and it's been less than a minute and I got an alert from an app that no longer needs to sync...So I disabled it (every little bit of non-sync means longer battery life!).
So far it's looking very promising! I'll definitely report back on my experiences!
Okay, first big thing...
Can you please resolve the cryptic app names to their more friendly name variants?
It's hard to read and make out the com.blah designations.
Thanks!
So far it seems like a cool app. I've been using WatchDog for ages to alert me when an app misbehaves.
But I'm confused about this app. When would you want to be using this? Can you give an example?
I'll keep it installed and see how it goes. Thanks.

Thanks for trying. This is more of an app to alert you as to what your phone is doing, ie what loads at a given point in time on your phone.

Thanks. I'm playing around with it and actively trying to make notifications pop up I opened Facebook and Google Reader started, as did Maps. Weird.
Which brings me to a question: how do we know whether the task started was CAUSED by the current app I'm using, or Android just randomly started it?
For example, it's possible Facebook opened Maps in order to try to get my location, but I don't see the connection between Facebook and Google Reader. Which is why I ask if it's random, or the app I'm using is causing other tasks to run.

You're welcome.
Sounds like a great troubleshooting tool. Nice work!
I'm liking this app more and more. A few more comments and requests.
Comments
* I like the main app window. Large fonts, long-press to get quick-help or short press to go to the item. Nice
* Screen off app start notification, nice!
Requests
1. Possible to get more detail about why or how an app was triggered? Like, was it triggered by a service? another app? etc. And did the triggered app take any actions? Like sending network traffic or queried the GPS and such?
2. The 'Setup Alerts' window is hard to read through, could you maybe add color so all the status 'Green' items have the word 'Green' in green font and so on?
Just added a 5 star rating on Market, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the suggestions. Those are features we truly will consider adding as it will just make the tool even better. Thanks!
There will probably be updates from time to time through the market

First of all, thanks for a great app.
I really like the fact that it reports on tasks/processes started while the screen was off!
I have some suggestions though:
1: When I click the icon in the app list to open the menu, it just shows the "Starting monitor" message and nothing else. I have to open an app to get the message in the pull down bar and click on that to start the application it self.
2: On my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 the layout of the application is just a bit to long for a full screen. We are talking about 1 cm or something.
3: I would very much like a log, so that I can check back, what applications started during screen off, and at what time/date.
4: The way the Android memory management works, I guess it's normal for Android to start and application/process to memory by itself from time to time. Is it possible to show this somehow? For what is interesting here is when an application is launching another application or process, and not when Android memory management is putting an application in memory.
Thanks for your great work, I'm looking forward to further updates to the application!
Just saw this on the front page and thought it looked pretty interesting. Installed a few minutes ago, but so far I like it. Not too intrusive with the pop-up.
As Namuna posted though it would be nice to get more detail.
Also to have the actual app name rather than com.xxx.
Really good work.
Installed.
I like the idea that we can see what tasks are really doing in the background. But as noted by some above, the notifications are a bit cryptic at the moment.
After installing and running the app, I started updating some of my other apps in App Market and my phone crashed. This has not happened before and I seems from my layman eyes that too many things might have been running in the background.
When the phone restarted, it too forever for anything to be displayed and the 3 widgets I had on the homescreen refused to load up. Again it seems to me that this app is popping up too many notifications - I have now stopped the app from starting up and running on start up.
I don't know whether this is unique to me or not though. I am running the app on Samsung Galaxy S (international) on stock Froyo with LauncherPro.
Still, I like this app and will use it more. Keep up the great work and many thanks.
Edit : just checked app settings again, and although I explicit unchecked app running on phone startup, the box is checked again. I unchecked the box and pressed save again. Re-entered app settings and the box is checked again. Am I missing something?
This looks very interesting.. So it's installed and ready for testing
Thank you very much for that app, it's awesome. I agree with the recent posters that the name of the app in addition to the com.blah.blubb would be a great help to identify the task. Also I'd like to see a possibility for a logfile.
Keep up the good work!
EDIT: I can hardly read the small, dark font when setting task levels since I use almost the very darkest display settings to save battery. So being able to chose the font color would be great but has absolutely no priority. Again: great app!Using it all day long now and I am surprised what tasks are being started!

[APP] Zlaunchy for Android 1.3

Hi,
Version 1.3 was released and also published on Android Market on 2011-07-03 - you can grab it here or from links below. The main change is fixing UpdateEntriesService which stayed running in certain cases and used up memory.
ZLaunchy was written mainly for those who like the way HTC and other third party dialers allows searching for contacts in a T9-like way - so that finding Adam means choosing 2326 in the phone application. ZLaunchy uses the same idea to run programs on your device. What it does is gives you a dialer keypad and when you type in a series of digits, it searches for all programs that match - for example to start Internet, start typing 4683 - Internet should show up in the result list.
In order to search for a particular text as beginning of words, type the specified digits - for example 4683 to find Internet. In order to search for specified letter(s) not only at beginning of words, add "1" at the end - for example 7371 will find Opera.
This application is free.
Changes in 1.3 release:
Fixed bug that caused UpdateEntriesService service not to stop after a successful update
This bug caused service to remain in memory and consume memory. Happened when "refresh items when inactive" was disabled/enabled.
Reworked logging mechanism
Reworked logging and cleaned up some of internals related to troubleshooting; should speed up the application a bit
Changes in 1.2 release:
Changes in contact handling to improve handling for certain devices
We have changed how ZLaunchy retrieves contacts, which should help support for some devices - users who had issues with contacts should try out the new version
Added option to always show menu when selecting a contact from list
It is now possible to choose whether ZLaunchy will open contact details or show a menu to select commonly used actions
As usual, you can download ZLaunchy from Android Market and our website.
Changes in 1.1 release:
Search in contacts' email address and telephone numbers and application's package name
QWERTY search for devices with physical keyboard
Ability to dial number
"0" button added on the on-screen keypad
Application details can now be shown on all Android versions
Preferences for global settings and profiles - you can now configure searching only for contacts, applications or both
Better APK install/uninstall integration
Download link: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.endorser.zlaunchy and http://www.endorser.org/en/downloads/android/zlaunchy
The idea is great, the app works well and faster then I expected 10/10

It does - searches both phone numbers and names. If you want to search for part of phone number (i.e. 6277 in +486277XXXXX) - just add 1 at the end.
great app! works fast, looks simplistic and clean, and definitely useful...
although i wonder where to find the 0... searching for numbers could get tricky without being able to type the zero.
and i couldn't figure out what the prev and next buttons do. since i have a desire s without any trackball i can just assume that's sort of a trackball-action, but in my case not functioning. any hint on that?

Initially it was only meant for searching apps - so I didn't think of 0. I also want it to allow dialing a number in 1.1 so 0 will be added for sure.
As for next/prev, it was meant to choose profiles (i.e. apps, contacts, specific folders, combination of these), but it's not done yet. So maybe it'll be changed to 0 and profiles button.

I have some force close like 20 seconds after searching for an app.
Otherwise I am very happy to find this program, I loved it in Wm!
Nice! Just what I've been looking for. I use Launchy on windows and linux and this is just perfect.
Oh and I have an idea for improvement:
Apps/Contacts launched more often should get an increased weight so they show up on top. Like when you type at least X % of the App name, but there are like 10 others that match the searchstring, the results should be sorted based on their weight.

I apologize. It was related to my android rom, not your software.
Very snappy program, I am highly impressed!
As a long time user of Find and Run Robot, I would be using ZLauncher all the time if you were to implement filtering by typing with the physical keyboard. That would make this an absoultely killer app for me. I totally understand if you prefer to keep this T9 only though
Oh and it doesn't seem to respect the fact that I disabled auto-rotate (Desire Z running CM7)
This is an awesome program, love it. Finding myself using this more that the App Draw. Great stuff!
I can;t find any contacts using this app, it only displays applications

Supporting more languages is an extremely challenging task as simple translation just won't work. We will try to implement it on a future release.
Once we start working on that, any help would be much appreciated.
the next release will focus on adding other features suggested by users.

Unfortunately reminders are somewhat tricky and we have no access to the default reminder setting of the calendar application.
We will try to think of an elegant solution for future releases, but for now the default reminder is indeed 15 minutes.
For now you may click the Edit button instead of OK and immediately press back (we know, not the best solution..).
Android Pro Quick Event 1.0.2 released!
Here are recent changes:
- Fix: closed when changing orientation.
- Fix: Remembers the last used calendar.
- Feature: Speech recognition added.
my days are off by one
when i try to set up an event the day is off by one i say Friday and it puts Thursdays date in it? anyone else have this issue
griffen97023
Please let me know what is your timezone so I can try to reproduce it.
Edit: well I can see its Pacific.
As far as I can tell the bug is only in the display and only for full day events. Events are placed at the right day after you click OK or Edit.
I'm working on a fix right now and it will be included in the next release.
Thanks.
Thanks! + small bug (?) report
Hey, thanks for the awesome app, I hit that "thanks" button really hard
I think I'll get used to the way of typing in appointments like that quite quickly.
However, I already found something I believe to be a minor bug. Imagine the following scenario: Let's say I want to schedule a meeting at an office of someone called "George Atkinson": "Meeting @ Atkinson's office". No problem so far.
In Germany it is not uncommon for people to have multiple last names connected by a hyphen. Let's say his name is now "George Johnson-Atkinson". Now it would be: "Meeting @ Johnson-Atkinson's office". What happens is that apparently the hyphen changes something in the syntax so that after having typed "Johnson-A", as soon as I type the "t", the Location part will omit what I wrote before and say "tkinson's office" when I'm done typing everything. It probably has something to do with its recognizing the "At" in "Atkinson" as a command (yet, funnily enough, the "t" stays as the first letter in the Location field, which I wouldn't have expected if it was mistaken as part of a command!).
It can get even more confusing. Let's say I don't want it to say "Meeting @ Johnson-Atkinson's office", but rather "Meeting @ George Johnson-Atkinson's office" (i.e. adding the first name; to be more general: another word followed by a space). After having typed "Meeting @ George Johnson-", the hyphen "jumps" to the Title field again, leaving only "George Johnson" in the Location field. Completing the command will result in the Title field saying "Meeting -Atkinson's office" and the Location field saying "George Johnson". EDIT: I just tried it with "Meeting @ Atkinson-Johnson's office" and it gave me "Meeting -Johnson's office" --> Title and "George Atkinson" --> Location. So this "bug" doesn't seem to be associated with the "At". So I guess I accidently found two bugs which I thought to be a single one
I don't know if this is working as intended and only poses a problem with the German "double names". Nonetheless, I did actually and in reality run across this problem I hope my description wasn't too confusing.
Thanks in advance for looking into it!

[APP] SwitchMe Root Profile Manager needs FIRE testers please!

Hi everyone. Im one of the developers of SwitchMe, and app that allows multiple secure logins into separate installations of android on a single device. The pr is after the break.
I really need a few people to check into some issues people on some roms have been experiencing. There are some warnings involved:
- testers must perform a full nandroid backup before using the app, it is not our responsibility if you start getting boot loops or whatnot
- if you report results or bugs, please use the "Write to us" function in the app whenever possible, and always describe the issue in the header of the logs you send
- if you post here, bes sure to include your device type and rom
- if you have apps installed on sd, be sure to mention that as well
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple installations of Android just as you would on a desktop computer.
The technology behind SwitchMe saves all of your applications and data, protects it and stores it as a file in memory. You can then log out of an
account and log into a fresh installation of Android or another account with its own unique content.
You may create as many profiles as the memory is capable of holding. Some of these may require very little free memory because they contain few apps,
others will be larger as they contain many applications and lots of cache and data.
Why is this functionality useful?
Privacy - the most obvious benefit is that you can securely share one device among multiple users, which gives you privacy and peace of mind.
Testing - if you are a developer, you can use profiles as clean sandboxes to test your applications and their interaction with the system.
Gaming – with multiple installations of Android on a single device, you can now play online MMOs as different characters.
Speed - the games your kids play slow down your tablet, but with SwitchMe you can easily create profiles without games or instant messengers.
Battery life - when the battery is low but there are important emails or documents to edit later, switch to a profile which only contains these essentials.
These of course are only suggestions - there are plenty of other uses for the functionality SwitchMe offers.

The Lite version allows the creation of two profiles, enough to test on.

will this allow me to switch between ROMs, like a ROM manager?
No. It creates multiple installs of your base rom. There is an app called boot manager, but it will never support the fire...

Ah. Was hoping it was like Boot Manager. Damn.
Switchme seems to work as desired. I'm the only one using my fire tho so there isn't much need for it. Come to to think of it, it would keep people out of my account when its being passed around at my buddies house lol.
Why do you say boot manager will never have support on the kindle fire?
Considering their progress over the last year and a half - 6! new devices - it will take forever.
SwitchMe 1.2 has been rolled out and now includes a lockscreen replacement:

I have a few ideas that should put this app to good use I've been meaning play with it for a while now. Going to be kinda busy during the week but I'll try to post any questions/issues if I come across any. If I don't get to it during the week, I will defiantly spend some time using it on the weekend
Thanks, i look forward to some feedback - for a developer good feedback in forums is much better than "doesnt work - 1 star" type reviews on the market.
1.4.3.7
Fixed device specific switch screen crashes and issues
Fixed UI bug in switch screen preferences
If anyohe had problems with superuser before, this should fix them. Please let me know if that is the case, its important we get some feedback here!
Anything to report regarding yesterday's release?
I couldn't get wifi to connect last week (only time i had to try it) I'll give it another go tonight. I did have a question about storage, if i have a game installed on my main profile and install it on a second profile, is the apk then located in 2 locations? The kindle fire is very limited on storage with no option of expandable storage

Yes, the apk will be used twice.

Hello, I just came across this thread and had to say something, I love your Switchme app. Me and my wife both use my fire and it was driving me crazy not being able to customize it how I wanted. Then I found your app in the market and was ecstatic to try it. It worked like a dream! Your latest update just added that little touch that made it sol worth it. Thank you so much for this function and smooth integration.

[APP - 4.1+] To-Day - the to-do list just for today :D

Another little utility app I've been working on
I'm a big fan of to-do lists apps but I was often finding myself editing the same list in Google Keep (my app of choice) everyday - adding new tasks, marking them as done, deleting them tomorrow to add new ones etc..
Also I thought it was a bit overkill to use a whole to-do app to manage just one list, and I found it annoying having to keep opening Google Keep, find my list for today & then edit it etc.. so I built To-Day.
In case the naming isn't as clever as I think, To-Day is an app to create a list of today's most important tasks directly from the notification drawer (for devices running Nougat & up). You can view the whole list directly in the notification drawer & swipe to mark tasks as complete directly in the notification drawer. Once the clock strikes midnight the list is cleared & you start again.
That's it. No bells, no whistles, nothing fancy - just productivity.
I've just published the app on the Play Store - Would love to know what you guys think..
And any bugs or issues you find please do let me know..
PS: If you find it useful a review would be MASSIVELY appreciated
I like the no-bs approach. I am a simple man and I prefer simple solutions
Personally I prefer your other app "Remindee" much more. My tasks quite often are situated within longer time span than single day.

Appreciate the feedback buddy ?
I'm in a similar position, I guess this is more for those quick tasks that I don't particularly have a time except they need to be done today, in which case they don't necessarily need a reminder..
But hey use whatever you prefer best!! (After all I made them both ??)
New build is up, just some minor bug fixes
Yet another nice utility, many thanks! If considerable amount of users agree, 'task complete' checkbox could be handy, possibly?

Glad you like it! Atm (apologies - it's not obvious) you can swipe tasks to mark as complete either from the notification or inside the app itself :good:

Got it, sir, thanks! Have got a little bit too many notifications, and To-Day tasks merged. Prevented merging notifications from the same app via interface, and discovered 'Swipe to complete' feature. Certainly, it's enough!
New build is uploading..
- Added option to set tasks for tomorrow
- Minor bug fixes & layout tweaks
Any issues/feedback - let me know

Interesting app.
Just wondering, if option set task for tommorow is enabled does it automatically add unfinished tasks for the next day if not completed or do you have to manually set it for tomorrow?
First option would be great.
Also, permissions does not match app description:
receive data from Internet
view network connections
full network access
prevent device from sleeping
Why internet?

Also, is prevent device from sleeping really required for app context?
I do not believe notifications really need this permission?

It doesn't currently but that's a good idea! Maybe I could add that as an optional setting.. ?
Re permissions internet & network is required for Crashlytics (crash reporting), not sure about preventing the device from sleeping - that's not a permission I've declared so I'm thinking that's something added from the Firebase SDK. Either way the app doesn't do anything other than post notifications for your tasks so it shouldn't be keeping your device awake for any reason
Thank you for the quick response.

I believe there is at least two different methods to implement this.
Have a general switch in settings, enable/disable, when enabled all uncompleted tasks are automatically moved to the next day, as creating a task means it should be completed.
Have an option when creating task itself, per task "must complete" option, if task has this checked ( checkbox), then task is carried forward, if not cleared at the end of day
Any updates?
