Anyone know an app that does this? - Android Apps and Games

I would like to be able to put shortcuts on the home screen which correspond to different camera settings, for example one shortcut for macro mode and one for normal, OR, have different camera shortcuts which correspond to different folder locations, for example one labeled "family" and one labeled "photography". Anyone know how to do this?

Have you tried anycut

I just tried it, it doesnt seem to be able to do this.

I don't have anything to say on the matter, because I don't have an idea apart from the already mentioned AnyCut.
I would strongly advise you, however, to change the title to something more meaningful and descriptive-- like "Q: camera settings via shortcuts" or something similar, because a generic and utterly non-descriptive title like the one you used here will not entice the more knowledgeable forum dwellers to enter your thread to finally read what you''ve put up here. You'll have to wait for an eternity to get a more definite answer.
Just my $ 0.02.

What about where it says "make your own" I'm sure you can set defaults and values to the locations and actions you need. For that you need an experienced person, or you can always email the developer of the app.

If I am not mistaken, Camera 360 Ultimate has an option to create such shortcuts!

Is there any way to disable weather wallpaper? (CDMA Hero Fresh 2.1.2)

I'm just trying to find a way to disable the weather wallpaper so my live wallpaper stays on after I unlock if I don't move the screen.
I know 1.5 didn't have it, so there must be some way to disable both it and the call to it, so it's like it was never there to begin with.
I searched, but came up with nothing I could use. I'm not sure entirely how it works, but there should be a line you can comment out somewhere or something.

If u mean the Weather Animation after unlocking the screen there is a option at the Weather Application.
I can't seem to find the option to shut it off in there anywhere. All I have is Update Automatically, Update Frequency, and Temperature Scale, and nothing else. ; ;
Am I looking in the wrong place for it or something?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
remove the widget then when you go to readd it, it will prompt you for animation after you select a city.

Hehe... Mine doesn't seem to want to cooperate. When I remove it and add it again, it doesn't ask for anything, it just GPSs my current location.
I tried the other two smaller widgets too, the ones that do ask for your location, but nothing ever came up about being able to disable the weather wallpaper.
This is pretty frustrating. lol It should be such an easy task. I mean really, am I missing something? All I wanna do is shut it off, even if I need to do a little programming to do it.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
i remember there was a select location option and then the next screen asking for weather animations
i'm running AOSP now so i can't replicate and help you buddy
but keep looking
maybe download a different clock?
What is AOSP? I know I should probably know. lol

Jump key option change?

I was wondering if there was a way we could change the jump key I don't use it at all I want to assign it to the messgaing application any help thanks in advance!
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA Premium App
its possible to assign it to another hardware key like search, i posted a thread on it and what to do here in the general. But you can already use it to take you to apps you just have to jump to them. (Jump+S = Messaging app) and you can change what letter take you to what app in settings

Any app that can remember phrases, sentences, etc?

I want to be able to use a gesture / shortuct to be able to paste a remembered phrase or sentence. Does this exist?
I'm using CM9 and the stock messaging app I'm using has the feature. If i go in the app, and go to setting s, it's at the bottom under sms template. It will allow me to make a gesture path and attach whatever phrase or sentence i want by making the gesture on top of the messages. For instance i use an 'L' gesture to send my wife a quick 'i love you'. Hope that helps!

I wanna be able to use this in emails though too and forums.
As far as my knowledge goes, that's the only thing I've found that does that. At least that is one thing you can use it for! :-D

Not exactly... but Clip Ninja (paid -- around $1.45) is a sort of Textarea Cache/Lazarus for Android. Anything you've typed (except passwords) is saved for 7 days by default. You can star stuff to keep it. Then you can paste it into anything. Not via gestures though, but the app resides in your notifications, so you can get to it easy enough.
Multi Ling keyboard from the play store has an add-on called auto-text, where e.g. BB automatically inserts be right back. And you can define your own abbreviations and texts/phrases. But you'll have to use the keyboard in order to get it working.
Paranoid Galaxy Note N7000 - PARANOID ANDROID (CM9)
SwiftKey keyboard has this.. Kinda..
It learns your speech patterns and then suggests the most common words you typically use...
I'm my text message app before I type anything it offer "hey" then the choice of "dude" or "love". As I usually start texts like this to my buds or my wife.
I can send texts without "typing" a single word... It also works in a lot of other apps like xda premium

Thumb Keyboard has programmable "Text Shortcut" keys.

Looked all over for a home screen apps sorter

Ok guys I've looked everywhere but found nothing. I am looking for an app that simply sorts home screens apps in some order. I don't want one that makes folders. I want to just be able to use the app to sort every now and then and just close it afterwards. Thanks

I am confused I guess. I don't understand exactly what you are looking for. You want an app to organize your apps on your home screen? Can't you just just organize them how you want them on your home screen? Maybe I don't understand exactly what you are looking for.

I'm lost in your question? Srry

Action Launcher gives an alphabetical list similar to windows phone.
If I understand correctly, you want an equivelant to the windows shortcut for "sort by name/type/date modified" for your homescreen, or for your appdrawer.
I echo the thoughts of others in asking why. It's not like your homescreen can accumulate dozens of apps the same way a desktop can pick up dozens of shortcuts, or that they are difficult to get rid of or sort yourself. Folders work fine... also, there are widgets such as Glovebox and CircleLauncher which will allow you to create live groups of self-hiding icons.
but Android is an open OS, so the simple answer is, if there's something you want that doesn't exist, just build it yourself. this, however, seems to be something that would be at the launcher level, not the level of a widget or app.
Exactly. But for people like me who hate using app drawer I think there should be some kind of stock setting

[APP][FREE + NO ADS][4.0+ FOR SURE] We Have To Go Back, Kate!

3.1 BETA OUT NOW
This is my first app, so lots of *constructive* feedback would be nice.
It's nothing special (I did it on MIT AppInventor like the noob who knows no java that I am)
Ever leave somewhere and forget how to get back?
Problem = Solved.
Simply press the button and it will remember your "Island Location" -- for you Lost fans --which you can name.
The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Has anyone used this app? Really looking for some feedback...
I downloaded your app, and you have a good idea and it is functional, although obviously limited in design and some functionality due to the lack of raw java. I also think it would be nice to have some settings of some sort, if it's possible to add those with the program you used to create it

I'm working on adding settings now. I plan to make the background and fonts changeable because I know I can easily do that. If you have any other settings ideas I can give them a shot.
I'm also looking to make the app able to remember multiple locations.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great idea! You should add a list of remembered places so one can chose where to go back to.

Yup no problem, and I'm no developer, so I'll leave the settings up to you. But if you want anymore testing or feedback just PM me and I'll be more than happy to, I've got nothing better to do

Working on adding multiple locations now. Any preference on how that works? Like pick three to save? Remember last three saved?
Does your app do something that using Google Maps w/ starred locations doesn't do?
If I go somewhere and think I might be so unfamiliar with the area that I might not be able to locate my car, I star the location I've parked at then use that when I leave wherever I went to easily find my spot.
It kind of sounds like your app does this too, but as its only feature?

Probably not. The only difference I imagine is that the app does it just by pushing buttons. It actually uses Google maps for directions. Sorry if that's disappointing for you haha
3.1 is up. This mostly a bump post haha. Would love to get some feedback
