Okay, i was browsing the HTC site, and type the old HTC One X sign up url, and when i go to devices, it shows the HTC Desire HD (Inspire 4G) and the "HTC Lorem Ipsum" and when you click it it brings you to the HTC ChaCha (Status)
Lorem ipsum are the first two words of a famous Latin sentence that web designers use to fill in text areas to see how a full content area looks on a page. What you found is probably a placeholder name they forgot to change.
Sent from my Droid Incredible using the XDA app.
If you're asking why "is it when you click on the link it brings you to a different phone other than the one you wanted to go to."
It could be due bad linking. Like a mistake in what link was meant to be used. (A fault of the site)
If you asking what is the "Lorem Ipsum", Those two words usually are associated with "Dummy Text". Text that is used to fill a text area. Most web designers will use this to sell a website design without having to type a real/fake paragraph themselves.
Search Google for "Dummy Text" you'll get a lot of fake paragraphs with the start of "Lorem Ipsum"
www.lipsum.com/
Other than that, I don't understand what you're asking.
Okay, thank you, i was just confused by this

Is anyone able to reproduce the following issue...???
In the XDA Android app, if I search for a string that contains a period - e.g. android 2.2.1 - I get no results (white screen, text at the top, left).
Obviously, there are posts that contain 2.2.1.
[[[Sent from MY myTouch 4g]]]
It's not just the XDA App bro, it's VB that causes the "issue". For security purposes....actually I'm not going to get into all of that.
Simple answer:
You can't really search for "." because VB will not allow it. It will only allow for alpha numeric searches (no special characters). This is because of the forum software, not the XDA APP.
I hope this explains it for you. I'm not sure how things have changed over the past few years with VB but back in the day there were exploits with allowing special character searches and searches containing less than three characters. It's just a security 'thing' and is very common on most boards.
Just in case you doubt that I'm wrong and it IS in fact the XDA app. Get on THIS THREAD with your PC or MAC and use the "search this thread" feature at the top right of the first post. Search your own thread here for "android 2.2.1" and you will not get any results because the "2.2.1" is not a valid search string.
Absolutely makes sense. I guess I should've verified in a browser first.
Thanks!

You're not the first man. It's been a problem with forums searches for years though. I think everyone has run into this problem at least once..lol
Can you change the way this inspire searches?
If you can not remember the contacts name or the first word of the organization name nothing shows up when your try to search parts of the organization.
Example: Name: John Doe
Organization: Sunguard Window Tenting
If you search for "Window or Tenting", the search does not show anything. If you search for Sunguard, it will find it.
I have a lot of business in my contacts and sometimes I can not remember the first part of the business name. For instance I have several police department names. I would like to just search for "departments" and see my list.
Is this making any sense.....
Anyone else has this issue?

I had the same results while trying to search. It only looks at the first name of each field.
You can put them into different groups but it takes longer to get to that menu then doing a simple search. It also seems you can't do a search based on the group.
i want to search OTA rom for my HTC handset. How to search oficial rom for HTC handsets?Somebody help me.Thanks for xda-developers.com.
There is a little box on the top of the page that says "Find Your Device". Click in that box and type the first few letters of your phone name and see if it displays, then click that name. I would suggest reading in your devices General and Q&A forums before jumping straight into flashing a new ROM since you don't appear to have a great deal of experience there.
What type of HTC? Go and have a look in the correct forum for your device.

I'm sure many XDA members who own HTC phones also have access to elevate. While this thread is not intended to expose any confidential information related to the HTC program, it IS intented for us (HTC users on Elevate) to group and support each others' ideas if you think they're useful.
//////////////////////
What this thread IS:
* A place where fellow XDA users with Elevate access can post their ideas, discuss them and help each other out with "likes" in order to raise the idea's visibility on HTC's radar.
* Anyone can contribute to an existing discussion (in this thread) and if it's supported by a lot of voices, one of us will promote it as a new "idea" on Elevate.
////////////////////////////
What this thread is NOT:
* A way to request information about Elevate itself, such as "how to get in?" or "who do i contact inside HTC for this and that?"
* A place to bash / flame / troll about anything HTC / Android or Elevate related
* A place to beg for or release content which is considered inside HTC confidential information.
Any deviations from common sense (language and content-wise) will not be tolerated.
Thanks and looking forward to your contribution!
(@orb3000 thanks for your support!)
I made a post about USB org if you want to like it mate , also someone made one about profiles. Like that one two

To be fair and safe, i informed the mods about this thread and its purpose, let's see if they endorse it. If it goes ahead = i just tested it = we can post direct idea links which can't be opened/viewed unless you have an elevate account.
edit: also informed the "other" mods to give feedback on this and check if it violates anything...
Hi, thread seems ok.
Will be moved to General so can get better exposure
As for external links that not everyone can see, it´s better if you work with quotes, that way everyone can jump in discussion.
Please to all members, help us to keep thread on topic and with respect!
Avoid posts like "Thanks! great idea!" or anything similar with zero helpful or useful content for the proposes of this thread.

which one would that be? give at least the idea name...
I'll start with mine:
"Contact image size on future htcsense.com"
When the replacement portal will be released, it would be good to have an online cloud-based way to sync contacts, along with support for hi-def (720p+) contact images.
This is one of the oldest Android bugs on record (actually a Contacts/Mail team issue) and we're forced to sync Gmail Contacts once you set up a google contact on any Android phone. If we can use htcsense.com (or whatever's gonna be called whenever released) as an alternative to Gmail Contacts it would be awesome!
30FPS and higher bitrate video support (OneX/S specific)
This one is pretty easy to figure out....24FPS and 10mbps don't do the OneX justice. The TF300 which is a Tegra3 tablet can do 29FPS and 18mbps with no issues, so it's not a HW limitation.
Hey all, thanks for reading... I've got a question that seems like it should have a simple answer, but I've been trying to Google it for an answer for a few months now with no luck because I am apparently wording it wrong.
Q: What is the proper, industry standard, textbook term for a phone's alternate name? (I.E. Leo for HTC HD2, Speedy for HTC Shift, etc)
I've tried Googling "project name" "development name", "beta name", "short name", and most other terms, but cannot seem to find an answer to this question and am trying to Google the alternate name of some Samsung Galaxy series of phone and tablet to help a friend locate his device on Cyanogen (which uses only the Leo/Speedy/Ruby/etc. obscure silly names on their downloads page... guess they got rid of the "hover to show phone's marketed name" feature :/)
Sorry for such a noobish question... I also was unable to find this question pre-answered in the forums. I just want to know what these names are called so I can easily search for "[manufacturer] [model] [version] development name" and easily figure out what they all are...
Thanks so much!
