I still have my Galaxy Nexus for a little while so I figured I'll upload the system/app folder from it.
I'm running AOKP rom on it so I'm not sure if that causes any issue or if it affects the system apps

EDIT: I'm posting this because I see lots of people asking for stock ICS apps...
??
I think he's posting it in case some people want to try swapping out some sense apps for aosp ics ones.
I miss AOKP

Hi thanks man i have installed some off the apps from this but not all off them work..
Like >.
1. Contacts
2. Calculator
i copied and pasted them in to /system/app/
and know i copied and pasted them in to /system/app/app and see what it dose ill update this post in few
i pushed Calendar.apk (renamed it to Calendar1.apk so it wouldn't overwrite the stock version), GoogleCalendar.apk, GoogleDeskClock.apk, Email.apk and Exchange.apk to /system/app. i also made sure the permissions were set as rw-r--r--. all were accessible after reboot. unfortunately, i couldn't edit/modify all of my calendar events with the ASOP calendar versions. email and Desk Clock worked on my device without issue.
How can we install the stock ics phone app?
Is it possible to have ICS folder instead of this HTC customized one?
The folders are built in to the sense framework. The only way to change them is using a different launcher.
Yes,I suppose So.
Has anyone tried the email and exchange apps from this?

Anyone know where I can get this? I was running cde aosp and I'm going to switch to the latest cog for a bit... I like the default android messaging app...if anyone knows where to get it and how to install it that would be great

You can replace the one in the Cognition Zip with one from the ASOP ROM before installing.
I attached the one from the ASOP_froyo_cm6 ROM.
If you've already installed cognition, just delete /system/app/Mms.apk then place the aosp Mms.apk in /system/app/ and reboot. I was successful using those steps.
I'm coming from the original Droid (with cm7) to the thunderbolt. Along with many others i am patiently awaiting cyanogenmod for this device...
Until then, is there any way to install the default contacts/messaging/phone/calendar/email apks? I tried pulling them from the sdk and installing... That didn't work so well...
Thanks in advance.
from what i have heard (haven't confirmed personally) if you disable sense they're all there, just now showing since sense is the "default". otherwise, the .apk is around somewhere to install via SD card. try some google-fu on megaupload yet?

Same here, I miss default messaging the most. Can't wait for CM7!
I managed to install the old CarHome.apk and the old Email.apk so... its a start in the right direction. Contacts.apk, Phone.apk & Mms.apk were all a no go. Maybe something to do with the 4G? I just want a clean rom... non of this "nonSense"
Hey guys, thought I'd share this.
I'm currently running Virtuous Inquisition v3.0.0. Love senseless, but the one thing I do miss is the weather app.
I managed to get it working.
Just download this file and install all the apks (not sure if they're all necessary). Copy the weather folder to system/media if you want the animations.
http://testroete.com/temp/htc_sense_ics_weather.zip
I got these files from this release:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432220&highlight=virtuous
Would have posted this in the virtuous ics thread, but I'm not at 10 posts yet.
Good find.Thanks!
its not working
dont you need rosie.apk for this to even work? and all aosp have aosp launchers. so if you dont mind me asking how did you get this to work without rosie?

How did you get this to work? I installed all the apk's, put the videos in the folder, the weather app will start, but won't do anything else.

I just wanted to let you know, that the First link is dead.
Thank you
So I downloaded the Holo Light Sense 4 theme from the Play Store, but the one thing sorely missing from the skin was the dialer. I searched around the International One X forums and found the SenseCream theme by fisha21 (all credit to fisha). I pulled the phone and htcdialer apks, placed them in the System folder, changed permissions, changed the name of the htcdialer.apk to match the existing apk, delete the odex files for both and rebooted. Beautiful IMO
The OP claims that the theme should work with all Sense 4.0 ROMs, but I can't guarantee it will work with all XL ROMs. Tested with Xi40 which is based on a ported International One X RUU.
I'll update later with the thread link and apk downloads (the mobile app is a pain), but for now a teaser.

Very nice! going to try it now
EDIT: Works but you must delete the stock apps if running a Odexed rom or it will cause issues. But yes works great!
If you want, i can make a flashable zip so it works on any rom with out issues.

Oops, forgot that step in the OP. Also X, did you rename the htcdialer.apk? I did, but forgot to state so in the instructions (I have updated the OP now). If you did not rename, I assume the dialer while in phone calls will remain as stock.
By all means whip up the installer. Will make it easier to flash after installing a ROM update.

Stumbled upon this recent discovery and just wanted to share the wealth! I extracted the MMS.apk from AOKP build 4 to see if it would work with Touchwiz and it does! Quick reply in the notifications window and all. Install it like any other system app; you'll need to be rooted and have a root explorer:
1. Download MMS.apk from below
2. Move to SD Card
3. ***Backup Touchwiz Messaging App "SecMMS.apk"*** by renaming the file to "SecMMS.apk.bak"
4. Move the downloaded MMS.apk to system/app
5. Fix Permissions to rw-r-r
6. Reboot
7. Hit your dougie or other victory dance of your choosing
I've attached screenshots to show that this is indeed working. The ROM I tried it on is incubus' JellyWiz RLS7 but it should work on any rom. I'm not responsible if you brick your phone or mess up your messaging app but it's pretty straight forward! If you're scared, go to church... or just nandroid :silly:
This is my first "helpful" post so if it's in the wrong section or if I've done something else that may cause WWIII than just let me know and I will fix it. I didn't see any other threads like this one though!
Edit: Didn't test thoroughly enough and as other users have pointed out, it FC's when trying to send or receive a picture message. Still, for someone who likes the quick reply, emoji, look and feel of AOSP, I think that it's a small price to pay. Also, this will ONLY work on Jelly Bean Roms!
Thanks

Where you able to send a pic message
Edit: FC when trying to send a mms
You should probably add that this will only work on jellybean based roms.
Edit: i'd like to point out that this isn't the most recent version of CM's messaging app. It's missing a lot of the things that they added.

it crashes when you send or recieve mms
Would love to have this though! Its a start...
I've been trying to get this to work since the day I bought the phone. I was using (and still am on my work phone) an inverted AOSP MMS.apk that I just absolutely dig. I was sad when it didn't work on Touchwiz ROMS.
I dug a bit deeper. I got to where you guys were at, I managed to get it to install on a JB TW ROM but it crashed on MMS, just as you all are experiencing. I dug deeper.
I next tried a logcat to see if I could sniff out the issue. Nothing was glaringly obvious as being the issue. I even went so far as to Pastebin it for a well known dev on here, and he pointed it to it being the Gallery as being the issue. Since it's an AOSP app, it was probably looking for an AOSP Gallery. So I tried that. I replaced the TW Gallery with the AOSP Gallery. Still, nothing. The dev hasn't had time to really help me out since, he's a pretty busy guy and isn't even supporting the device, he was more helping me since we're more friends than anything else.
I'm going to see if I can get ahold of another dev on here and see if he can spare some time to help. Problem is, he doesn't have this phone, but I do believe he has a Galaxy Note, or the Skyrocket. I PM'd a few devs supporting our phone with ROM's to ask if they could help, and I didn't receive a response. If anyone knows anyone who can help, I'd be glad to pass along what I have.
I would REALLY like to get this working on TW ROM's. I'd settle for the old school AOSP inverted one I'm using, but the CM/AOKP one is probably pretty similar.
I managed to get an ICS, AKA non Quick Reply version, working with TW builds. Should work with any ICS/JB builds. The file is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921429
Can someone tell me wat im doing wrong or wat exactly im missing...i followed the instructions and the app itself is working but it's not popping up

Thanks. Seems to work fine on stock/rooted TW. No QuickReply, but I think QuickMessage doesn't woked that well in CM10 anyway. I use SMS Popup from the Market.

Nooooo.... You need the tw framework for it to work. No tw apps will work on aosp or aokp.
