Folks, I've just installed the 64-bit version of Windows 7, as well as the SAMSUNG Drivers for USB mobile phones, and my Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket is not being recognized on my computer.
Before I had the 32-bit version of Windows 7 installed with working drivers. My phone had a custom ROM (SKY ICS) and was used to develop apps through the Eclipse EE development suite.
Does anyone know what drivers have worked for them on the 64-bit version of Windows 7?

xcrazydx, that made zero difference.
I'd greatly appreciate feedback from anyone, specifically Windows 7 x64 users, who've had a working solution for their Samsung Skyrocket to be recognized on their machine. I've searched through Google and came up with little results.
I had Windows 7 32-bit running on my machine for years up until yesterday. Since that time, I had installed working samsung drivers for my phone when it was first released, developed applications and executed them through my phone via USB, and was even able to install the leaked ICS OS, root it, and install a custom ROM.
Here are the drivers that worked for me when I was still on Windows 7 32-bit:
http://hotfile.com/dl/141326918/ca68c7d/Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2200_0.exe.html
These drivers no longer work and most of the solutions I've searched through Google aren't working either. One thing I notice now is that the USB logo doesn't appear on the top-left of my phone's screen when I plug it to my computer, even though it begins to charge.
Has anyone had this problem and was able to resolve it?
I have that OS and it works fine

Hah, so even though I've been rebooting my computer I've forgotten to reboot my phone.
Did that, as well as re-enabled debugging mode on my phone. . . and we're back in business!
Thanks for the help.
Very nice!

i am running Windows 7 x64 with the same drivers mentioned above installed and my computer sees my phone through USB and both sd cards properly every time.

Hello, I believe I screwed up something with the mounting/unmounting before I flashed a ROM, and my phone is not working as a result. Originally, it would sit at the Samsung Sidekick 4g Tmobile screen forever, and I could use the button combination to get it into download mode... now that doesn't work, and it only goes to the black screen with the phone and the computer.
I have downloaded driver after driver after driver trying to get this to work, I have downloaded ODIN, and I understand how to use it, but there is no way ODIN is going to see my phone because Windows will not properly install it. I only have a PPC mac and Win 7 computers, one win 7 computer says device is malfunctioning and the other win 7 computer loads it as a "Gadget Serial" but says that it did not install properly. I have tried all the samsung drivers, all the samsung programs to no avail. I've tried more than one USB cable too...
Is there any hope in getting this phone back to life? Do I need to use a windows XP installation? I have VMware so I could try XP or linux but frankly I'm afraid to do anything more for fear of further complicating this situation.
Final Edit: SOLVED. I uninstalled everything save for the samsung drivers, installed the android SDK and plugged it in a different usb port...although im not sure if windows got it right away, ODIN detected it and I was able to restore.
I have Kies on my Windows 8 RTM PC. I can plug in my Note phone and it is recognized with no problem. When I plug in the Note 10.1 tablet it isn't recognized by Windows and Windows can't find a driver. Since I suspect the same driver is used it must be something in the install. Checked the support site and there is no Kies there yet for the Note 10.1 and no USB driver.
Since Win8 is not officially released yet You should not wonder ........,
true, but...
One would expect the driver to work in Win 8 as it is just USB. Certainly it should work in compatibility mode. After all, my Note phone works just fine.
I have Windows 8 Pro RTM via Technet and Galaxy Note 10.1 work fine. detects and installs drivers
Installed Kies 2.3.2.1.12074_13_13.exe
Lunch Kies, then plugin tab
Exactly what I have and it doesn't work at all. Did you install with compatibility mode?1
I have Win 8 RTM also and Kies works fine. There was some trickiness with it initially and I had to install the Samsung Mobile USB drivers (something like that) manually.
I wouldn't worry too much, I have Windows 7 and Kies won't work with that at all!
It works on my laptop with W7 but just not the desktop

Which drivers did you install? I used the latest Kies_2.3.2.12074_13_13 and can't get it to work. Went to the USB Driver directory and tried the install there and it didn't help.
NEED: drivers for tethering windows phone 7.5 in windows 8
hi, i was happily tethering my t-mobile dell venue pro with my windows 7 computer. i recently upgraded to windows 8, and noticed i can no longer tether. i tried installing the windows 7 - htc usb drivers as well as qualcomm, neither installed at all.
any one have any ideas and could maybe link me to the right place if it was posted already how to do this? i have searched for a few hours already and have come up with nothing.
if someone knows how to get this running please please do share and feel free to write a tutorial as well. i am sure many people would benefit from it.
As always Thanks in advance!
W hile ago, I couldn't get my Windows 7 PC to recognize the original drivers as compatible with the USB modem, so I modded the drivers to recognize it... and it has worked fantastically. Hopefully this will work for you too.
Hello,
Did you try compatibility mode Windows 7 ?

thanks for that but i have had the same problem with these drivers, as with the stock drivers. the error says
"windows was unable to install your unknown device"
"windows could not find driver software for your device"
When I updated my OS from Windows 7 x64 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro x64, I faced some serious issues related to USB connectivity.
I currently use MyPhoneExplorer as a windows interface for my phone management and it needs USB drivers properly working. Windows automatically detects the unknown device and downloads the related drivers if missing. But as you know it's a long shot and in this case it worked.
Windows managed to pull up some drivers so my USB debugging mode worked and connectivity was fine.
But if you want to connect the device in Download mode using ODIN for firmware upgradation, you're stuck. ODIN cann't detect any device connected to any port (though it's there connected to one of the USB ports actually)
So the final ultimate solution is (after so many other futile attempts ) : download the latest KIES from Samsung's official website.
Trust me on this, it may seem simple and straight but the amount of (futile) efforts I put behind all these is a lot, and I seriously don't want anyone to waste your time on this stupid issue. So that's it.
By the way this is my very first post to XDA. Been using the site for troubleshooting since years but never participated actively. Thanks to the team and all the developers for this great gateway of solutions. :good:

hi try to run odin in compatible mode that should solve your problem could be odin is not compatible with windows 8
Hi,
I've just bought a new laptop and it's got windows 8 x64 on it. I've tried and tried to pair the TF101 to my laptop, but all I keep getting is 'Windows could not find the driver software for your device.'
I've downloaded the USB drivers from ASUS too and pointed my device to the folder and it doesn't find any driver there either.
I'm using Android Revolution HD 3.6 and I've tried it in several USB ports and using the original cable and a backup one I bought from ebay. I know the device works normally as I had it running without issue on my previous PC, (Windows 7 x64), only 2 weeks ago.
One thing to add, Windows recognises is as TRANSFORMER TF101.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Vince
