I bought a blubridge mini-jack Bluetooth adapter for my vehicle since it does not have Bluetooth. I can get the One X to recognize the Bluetooth (TX2) but each time it says it can't communicate with the device. I have successfully paired my phone in my wife's car with its built in Bluetooth (Mazda cx-9) w no problems..I've heard of Bluetooth issues with the HOX but not sure if its my phone or the adapter..it has decent reviews and haven't heard of issues...
Thanks in advance if anyone has info to share..

Edit: must be the Bluetooth device...tried it on my old vivid and it won't recognize it either..may be a bad unit but still feel its something with the phone.

Hello,
I just switched over to the HTC One S T-Mo version from the GS2. Phone is great has its pluses and minuses over the GS2 however I am having one little issue with my device.
Whenever I try to use audio out into my car stereo it does not work it plays through the phone speaker. I was wondering if there was a setting for that on the phone? I looked on everything option I could think of. At first I thought it was the cable, but I tested it on my friends GS2 and my Ipod as well and still works flawlessly. Then I thought it was the app( Google play) but I also tried with pandora and youtube and still no dice.
I used the search on here but came out empty, just wondering if you guys knew anything about this?
P.S. I tried two HTC ONE S's already both same thing.
Thank You
Not really and answer, but I tried using mine as well through aux input in my car, and same issue. I got a replacement from T-Mobile because the tech at the help desk said it shouldn't do that. I've tried 2 different cables in 2 different cars and same result. Sound through One S speaker. Really annoying. I had the Sensation which worked fine but not sure why this phone will play through the headphones but not through car speakers.

Mine plays through my speakers...
Its just like a pair of headphones.

I agree that's how it should work. When I have my head phones in, I get sound through the head phones, but when I use it through my car stereo(I've tried 2 cars, 2 different cables) the sound comes through the one s speaker not the car speakers. All my other phones have worked the right way but this continues to play through phone speaker. Weird. This is my 2nd one s. I returned the 1st because of this very issue. Thank you.

Auxiliary Mode
My car stereo has an AUX mode that I have to manually switch it to when I want to play music from my phone through my car speakers. I noticed that some devices will switch my stereo into that mode, where as my One S will not. I suggest that you check and see if there is a way to manually enter this AUX mode from the stereo as that may be something that you never noticed because its been doing it for you this whole time.
Thank you. I have manually put it into aux mode and still one s speaker. I am going to try it in my Toyota today and see if it works. Hopefully not 0 for 3. I just wasn't sure if there was a setting on the one S I'm missing. Just seems weird that it's my 2nd one s and 2 different cars and 2 different wires.

Are those stock radios in both vehicles? If not what model of radios are you connecting your phone to.
Yes. All 3 are stock. 07 mercury, 10 Toyota and 12 Ford. All using different cables. Maybe return the phone again? Thank you.

There is an app on the market that will force the sound through the auxiliary output. I forget the name, you could try that.
So it works for headphones?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
That's the strange thing. Headphones work fine. Even the beats comes on. Weird issue.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
Try SoundAbout from the market. While it's not an official fix it should get your desired result.
If it works with headphones then I don't think your phone is the problem, it just doesn't make any sense. Set the radio to AUX, start the music on the phone and plug it while its playing, see if that works. I am at a loss.
I did that as well,I could hear the static "pop" through the car speakers when I plug in the aux jack, but it just continues to play through the phone speaker on all 3 cars. Thank you.

You can definitively say that the cables you have tried work, you have use those same cables with an iPod or some other player, right?
Yes. I had a galaxy s3 and sensation before this and they've both worked through these same cables. Thank you.

So I called htc and the woman I spoke with said I need a cable that is certified to work with one s. But she couldn't tell me any. Does anyone know of a special 3.5 mm aux cable for our one s? Thank you.

That sounds like BS, I have a cable that I made myself and it works just fine.
For those of you using the older style (mine is a 2010) version of the non-touch screen Ford Sync, it now appears that the AT&T One X will pair over BT without issue. On the 1.73 firmware the phone was unable to even see the system. Not sure if it was the OTA to stock 1.85 or flashing to CleanROM since i hadn't tried it again in weeks, but one of the two solved the issue.
Anyway, haven't tried playing media yet but phone calls work just as well as they did on my old iPhone.
I'm not having any issues with media play on my 2010 F-150.

Yeah, I assume it works fine now that i can pair. Did you have trouble getting it to work on the launch firmware (1.73)?

In my 2012 Fusion I haven't had any trouble. I just picked up the F-150 a couple weeks ago (couldn't pass up the deal) so I was already off 1.73 at the time. I can say that at times it does take a while for the media to connect. Sync just plain out rocks. Don't know if I could ever use a vehicle without it.

As far as i know.
I tried to update it, and i keep getting an error on the Ford SYNC website. They know they have a problem, but yet they say that there's no updates for my vehicle.
System used to work fine with my iphone. So i dont know if is SYNC or the phone.

Keep trying to pull that sync update. I guess its also possible that running cleanrom 4.0 made it work, but I kind of doubt it. Don't think the log mentions Bluetooth changes.
We almost certainly have the same Sync system, so don't give up!
My 2012 Edge used to give me grief and would not consistently pair either as a phone or music but since the OTA it hasn't been an issue.

I actually think I have not tried it again since the update will give it another try.

Hmm, the updates aren't that big. I did mine once using a 4GB flash drive but I want to say the update was less than 10MB... Make sure your usb drive isn't locked >.<

My HOX paired with my 2011 Fusion (w/o Nav) without much fuss. Stock ROM. I had to jockey around the bluetooth searching a few times to get them to see each other, though. Music streaming works well, too.

Then it's your phone. Take it to your carrier and ask them to change it. Are you running a custom ROM? That might also be the issue.
Thank you. I've already exchanged the phone once and it happens on my other one s also. We have 2 t-mobile one s and it happens with both off them and the one I replaced. 3 different cables, 3 different cars, 3 different one s. And I am on stock Rom android version 4.0.4.

Default music player
Hello, I am using the default music player. I have tried tune in radio and the same thing. I will try google music today and see if there's any change. Does anyone have the brand of they cable they use and I can get one and try it. My aux cables work with other phones including Galaxy s3 not not sure why they wouldn't work with these phones. Thank you.

The problem isn't the cables if they work for other phones.
The problem is either hardware, or you.

Still nothing
I spoke with a nice woman from T-Mobile and she said two people she works with have the One S and she is going to take them to her car and try them both and get me the firmware version and the brand of Aux cable she is using, I bought a new Aux cable to try in the meantime and still no sound through car speakers. I tried all 3 cars, I then took our old MyTouch 4g and tried that and it worked in all 3 cars. Really strange issue. We'll see what she comes up with, otherwise she says I can return the phones for another brand but I really like this phone and would like to keep it. Thank you everyone who responded and I'll keep you posted, In the meantime, keep the suggestions coming, Thank you.

You can manually force the audio to come out the aux using an app. It would get annoying, but it should work.

Never called
So, It's now Wednesday evening and the nice woman from T-Mobile never called back. She was supposed to call Tuesday morning. I can see why they are bottom on the customer satisfaction ratings. I'll have to live with the fact that I can't play music through my car stereo I guess. Thank you all for the suggestions. Really disappointed with T-Mobile right now. Been a customer for 13 years and I notice how each year the support gets worse.

Ok maybe I'm missing something here but do you have a cover on your phone? Maybe the headphones plug all the way in but not your cable? I use monster and griffin brands and both work fine.
Edit:Also if you have been with T-Mobile for a long time (I've been with them for 12 yaers) then when you call tell them you want to talk to customer loyalty team they will hook you up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I do not have a cover on either phone and the aux cable is as far in as possible. I'll have to try customer loyalty and see off that works. So far nothing. I don't know what the odds are of the phones not working on one of 3 aux cables and 3 different cars, but I'd say it should work on at least one of them. All of my other phones have worked on all 3. I'll try calling again. Thank you.
