Anthem ROM camera - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Just wondering if anyone could disect this camera and make it so I can try it on CM7.2 RC. Ive already torn it to the lib files and placed them over mine and put the camera apk in my app folder but got a stall at my splash on reboot. Thanks for the help anyone who would kindly take the time. I would LOVE to have a good panoramic camera running on cm7.
Heres the link to the post here on xda
Anthem
SORRY move this to the Q&A section please, I thought I was on that one!!! Thanks

have you tried camera 360? ive all but given up on the stock cm7 camera cause of it.
also ive been playing with pudding camera also. not sure if there is a panorama option there though

^ +1
The panorama camera on Anthem is an HTC app so it won't work just by swapping libs over. Swapping libs would probably result in breaking more things than fixing them. If you really wanted to use the panorama camera from Anthem, you can try hacking the apk using some code from a cm7 jar file.

well that is where I have an issue.. I have not the first clue on how to do that. Haha. Im not sure if the camera is a sense app either... and if it is then im royaly out of luck :/

Anthem's camera app is a Sense app :/
You can still try to re-engineer it by first getting a logcat of the errors associated with putting the Anthem camera on cm7 and then decompiling both the Anthem camera.apk and the corresponding cm7 .jar to modify the code...

CM6 - HTC Camera App

Anyone have the HTC camera app apk floating around?
I miss the touch to focus and widescreen photos. Any similar camera app would be appreciated also.
Tried a search but only found a thread for an HTC Desire camera app but it's for CM5 (N1).
no touch and focus but the CM6 camera has widescreen just go to settings on the camera and choose 6.5mp
Huh, where, I can't find that
I'm not sure if this is going to work with CM6 (nightly or rc) or not, but here it is. Pulled from a stock Evo.
Um. CM6 doesn't have sense...HTC Cam isn't going to work.
When I was on CM5 on nexus, Paul @ Modaco was able to port the HTC Desire Camera (same as Evo) over to the Nexus and it worked on CyanogenMod.
Here is the old link:
http://android.modaco.com/content/g...era-application-on-nexus-one-mcr-cm-enomther/
Some people are already asking if it's possible with 2.2:
http://android.modaco.com/content/g...not-possible-on-vanilla-2-2-android-on-nexus/
I can't really blame you for asking though. I can't decide if the pictures are turning out as nice as the stock apk. I also am not a fan of the focusing on this version. These are major players for me when deciding my rom as one of my biggest uses for the phone is documenting the antics of my children.
As much as I love the rom and the work Cyan has put into it (which is extraordinary), I may go back to DC (also extraordinary work) 2.1 for the camera.
i'm thinking once froyo comes out offically for the evo then there will be a better chance of porting it

Not long to wait
Tried dumping HTCCamera.apk from ava froyo and the one from the new stock 2.2 with no luck. Just got 'Application not installed'... I'll be trying some new stuff tonight to try to get this loaded!
i dedicated about an hour and a half of my time to try and get the HTC camera app working on this. I followed modaco's layout for putting on the camera app, hoping that he didn't actually make many changes to the apk itself. It didn't work.
If i could figure out what he did to get it to work... that'd be great >=D

Maybe we could contact him and ask for advice or if he'd be willing to help us port it over for cm6. Just a thought.
Ok, so I pulled the de-odex'd HTCCamera.apk, and various /system/lib and /system/framework files from the new stock froyo build, in the same manner modaco did with his n1 port, and loaded it into a zip.
Flashed from clockworkmod over the 8/1 nightly and I did manage to get the HTC camera/camcorder apps loaded!!
However it would force close immediately.. ugh. Now I'm frustrated.
I'm no programmer, but it seems modaco modded the boot.img to get this working (as that is the only file I couldn't find an evo equiv for his n1 version).
The zip contains the CM6 boot.img (resulting in force close).
Tried using the stock (from the official froyo) boot.img, resulted in a boot loop.
I'm not even sure if this is the problem, but it seems logical from my standpoint.
I don't know how to mod it myself and I think I've made all the progress I can within my knowledge, so I'll post what I've got so hopefully someone else can tinker with it and get this working!

Check out Vignette in the market, its the best camera replacement I've used yet and it offers leas of great processing effects too. Full version costs money but there's a free demo version.
Tried Vignette and all it has are a bunch of filters.
Some of us want touch to focus to take nicer pictures.

its actually shoots 8mp too. if you look at the details on the HTC cam, its only 6ish MP. unless its a typo, but i dont think they could mess up the resolution like that.
bump has anyone got the htc camera app working on the evo yet?

[DEV] HTC Camera for AOSP [Assistance Welcomed][Updated 17/08]

I was doing some searching the other day, and i came across this post.
http://android.modaco.com/content/google-nexus-one-nexusone-modaco-com/305352/27-may-r2-desire-camera-application-on-nexus-one-mcr-cm-enomther/
Now this is the HTC Camera App for regular Nexus 1 builds.
So i was wondering if anyone was capable of getting this working on a Froyo build for the desire?
I have attached the ZIP so you can have a look.
Hopefully it will lead to a better camera app for Froyo
Great idea! Hope someone will do this!
Yea the original post claims it works fine on the Nexus so i cant see why it wouldnt work on the desire.
I would look into it myself but have no idea where to start.
This should definately be looked into!
Well im having a go myself.
Ive updated all files to reflect the 2.2 versions...
and updated the boot.img with what i saw relevant from the previous one.
Phone boots which is good
but when i run the camera app it force closes.
now its taken me 2 hours to get to this stage from knowing nothing so just guessing ive missed a few things from the boot image.
so ill update when ive looked at it more. Going to bed soon
Good work man.
This+Open Desire= sex!
well your in luck because at the moment its open desires boot image im working on. so if i can get this working then it will work for you
Booooooooo, work on defrost
well i prefer opendesire, but if i can get this working on that then ill happily transfer it to defrost.
unfortunately, im a bit stuck at the moment haha

wow i thought there would be more interest in this.
guess not...
ok i found a 2.2 version for the nexus which contains a kernel for the camera to work properly.
surely someone can get this working on the desire?
link to update zip for 2.2 nexus 1...
http://www.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=enomther/APPS/&file=htccam_2.11.3_720p_kernel_audiomod.zip
does the camera app include the gallery?
i'd really love both .
if you mean the htc gallery then nope. the only thing i like about the htc rom is the camera, hence why im trying to get this working so bad! the quality in the pics is alot better than the stock froyo camera app.

i know, that's why i want it too, also it has face recognition. but also the htc gallery is much better than the android stock gallery. its way faster and more beautiful.
the htc camera would be great indeed, so +1 for that.
This would be great. The HTC Camera app still makes me want to switch to a Sense ROM. Hopefull someone is able to make this happen
well as it stands no devs seem interested, im doing my best but its my second day working on it from knowing nothing about android
just bugs me that they have this working on the nexus 1 on AOSP roms, yet there inst one for the desire, and its the phone it came from!
would be so awesome if you could get this working... I had a crack at playing with the htccamera files from enomthers rom but got nowhere at all, so I guess I know less than nothing ^^;

Firstly, you need to read this and then compile android from winsuk's source. Then, look below and see what you need to do. Also, if you happen to get something to work, I can add your name to the developer list above. Thanks!

-Someone needs to try this and rename camera.qsd8k.so to camera.liberty.so and copy it into /system/lib/hw/camera.liberty.so. According to rapmv78, this should fix the camera.
Note to mods: Please PM me if there is something wrong with this thread, because I don't want this to be taken down again.
^ ^ ^ thanks For this. Hopefully this stays ;p
Love my Aria !!
It seemed like it got taken down due to the GPL restrictions in the thread in the stickies. I'm sure winsuk can reupload it following. The new guidelines.

If anyone wants, I can post instructions for what you can do to help with this project....This will involve having a linux system and compiling stuff (instructions will be provided).
I would be more than willing to help, but I dont have access to a linux OS.

You can also create a bootable Linux USB drive http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/.

EDIT:
SSH'd in to it, downloading everything now! Should have a build by the end of the night.

Had some interesting fun with the packages on Oneiric. Turns out lib32readline5-dev no longer exists in the repositories. I managed to find the lib32readline5 package, will that suffice, or should I remove that package and manually install the -dev one? Found a .deb for it after I had already started the repo sync.
you should be fine without it...as long as you have ubuntu 64bit (Oneric).
If you get any build errors (like I did), let me know because there is a fix for it...
Also, please try out the HAL camera as I said in my first post before you compile the rom.
THanks!
Hi there guys, Great to see that work is still being done on such an old phone, though its old, im stuck with it so a fresh look can be nice once in a while , Ill be keeping a keen eye on the updates , i tried the rom for myself and am impressed, not too far away from making this a RC imo, oh and, if anyone is keen, is anyone able to look into making the earpiece volume for incalls a little louder? I wasnt able to test it myself because no calls were going through, only texts , but if its anything like the original htc sence rims or the CM6-7.x 's they are a tad quiet and would do with some modding anyways thats just my 2 cents, Happy Modding!
Oh and i tried the camera "patch" I think, it didnt seam to fix it for me, though all i did is unpacked the files placed the renamed fixed camera .SO file into the correct location, then repacked the lot before flashing, I dont know if i was supposed to delete the other camera file that was there??

LG G3 AOSP Camera quality solution

Hi everybody,
A lot of people buy that model because of camera quality, a lot of us like AOSP based roms. But the camera lost quality because of LG framework issue. I tryed i lot of camera programs, but results are worst. Only the apk LG camera for AOSP (for LG2) get very good quality, and i compared to stock LG G3 camera. But that apk not give any settings, also flash setings on CM12 based roms. I am sure it is big issue for all of us. If simebody can recommend some solution, will be great!
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi, same for me. I only hope some dev can give it a try and solve this issue... Fix the G2 apk could be a nice start ! At least fix the settungs like you said.
Btw, give a try to resurrection remix rom, cause the camera quality is very nice. I'm on it since the beginnig and recording is so far better than the others, smooth and fast. It's probably between stock LG camera and XCam
i Think its a Driver Problem
Camera quality cant be solved yet.I read somewhere that devs are trying to improve but i think that quality wont even get close to stock .
Hope for the best
Jishnu's Camera f40
Jishnu's Camera f40 give perfect quality, i compared to stock LG Camera on stock firmware, and no difinerenses. But settings works not properly. And problem with size of camera monitoring on display, but size of pictures are right. I tryed on Resurrection Lollipop v5.2.5 and 5.0.2 Euphoria-OS 1.0. I think some little tuning of mod and we can get best present to ney year.

i think many of us would honor this and donate for a aosp quality cam solution!
Jishnu's Camera the MOD for the Stock anyone has some news about it? for the Lollipop
Maybe it's possible to port the LG framework to aosp or just the libs it require to make the camera works. I remember the folks at miui used to make a ton based on the stock one so all the things works fine. So if we could make a port of cm inside the stock or the other we could make it work.
I am also thought about that. I hope one of developers will give us good solution. I am sure a lot of us will donate for that issue.

This wouldn't work for me. It mounts and installed into /system/app, but I noticed in Illusion, that folder is filled with folders, unlike in older versions of android. I also tried manually installing the APK into the same folder as the original camera app, removing it and correcting permissions, but no go.

You have to flash it through recovery. That works, but it's not otimized for the QHD screen yet, and it only registers as 8 megapixels

Port Xperia Z4 camera

I found this post:www.xda-developers.com/xda-external-link/how-to-port-fully-featured-sony-xperia-z4-camera/
However I'm just a flash junky and can't be sure I will be able to do this without messing up something, but it seems easy enough for anyone with a little code-knowledge.
So if anyone has any spare time, maybe you can get around to porting this. I for one, would love this on my G2.
Me too, but I think it needs to be incorporated in the ROM you're flashing instead of just flashing a zip through TWRP like you would normally do. I don't know how to do that..
Jishnu Sur porting it but as I know just for AOSP based roms.
it needs framework.jar editing which is different in every AOSP, CM Roms
Well,if somebody could do it for the official CM12.1 nightlies, and update it frequently,it would be awesome.
There is a guide to port the Xperia SystemUI/Lockscreen to CM12.1 too.
Official CM12.1 would be a good core, since it has the biggest probability of working with guides(with the fact that it's framework isn't filled with as much junk as the one in other ROMs).
We have the Xperia Z4 CM12.1 themes, the Xperia Z3+/Z4 Launcher, the Clock Widget, the Media Apps, the Xperia Keyboard. With the SystemUI and Camera,we could have a pretty good Debrand ROM.

Not sure what bugs you have with it. Been using it for months without a single issue. Mind you I dont touch CM roms just AOSP based roms like Slim and DU
out of curiousity, i ported it to my current ROM Dirty Unicorns.v9.5
played with it a little.
Sweep Panorama gives you Error,
Creative Effect not working (you cant click or shoot or record)
FC on Main Camera App, the solution is to Run it via Widget.
@xperiaz2
i'm just curious inside the original updater script which is to set permission to "display_color_calib" in /system/bin that nowhere to be found in the flashable Z4CamPort.zip and i double check my D.U Rom.v9.5 /system/bin its not there too.

that image is not good for judging the photo quality...
1. it's too small, and probabbly compressed when uploaded on xda
2. it doesn't have much detail to judge color/sharpness/contrast quality
suggestion:
1. put a full resolution image somewhere and share a link here
2. take a few pictures of several lighting situations inside and outside the house with prefferably more details apart a power bank and nestle chuckie - so people can see how it works in real life... and also put the link to full res pics here...
thanks in advance...
Well,I tried to port the camera to CM12.1 nightly 12.8.2015. .
The thing is that I had to backsmali and smali the classes2.dex file as if it was classes.dex .
Although I was told to use the Backsmali-Smali Manager,I didn't know how to make it even recognize the .dex files,as it would only recognize framework.jar files.
So,I did it with the ApkTool. But I guess it was made for parts of the lower Android OS versions, and after backsmaling, editing, recompiling framework.jar, moving it back into system/framework and fixing permissions, the phone entered a boot loop.
Any suggestion on how to make Smali-Backsmali Manager recognize .dex files?
