any way to unroot nexus s with a broken power button!?!?!

I bought the black tie from best buy and I want to send in my phone for repair because my power button doesn't do anything, but first......... Can someone please tell me how I can revert to stock settings as in having a locked boot loader and a stock build........I currently have cm7 (the old unfinished one since it broke like 4 months ago)
I just decided I cant take it anymore since sometimes the anyunlock app makes my phone unlock in my pocket and stays on all day and drains the battery super fast!
please help me with my dilemma! :C

I cant select anything since the power button (select button in this case) doesnt work
Or am I on another page here? lol

open rom manager app, then select reboot in recovery then fastboot and selects instead of taking your power button select the search button it work!

Its ok, but I tried and it doesnt work also the volume keys wont do anything in recover :/

I don't undetstand why it dosent work ! It work on mine . Try to get an exchange by your supplier even you are rooted, it's a hardware problem, who knows!

Go ahead to best buy and send it in, my phone quit booting and best buy took care of it and i even got it back with all my data still on it and the phone still running CM7.

maybe different model?

Use fastboot from your PC. Everything is controlled from CMD Prompt. Look at Pete's tutorial. Just need to setup the drivers. Check the stickies.

Just have it fixed through best buy it takes 3 business days I sent mine in on Thursday and got it Monday since obviously weekends don't count. My power button wasn't working either and I was rooted and unlocked bootloader..just save all your data since they might just give you a new nexus like me

also try, inserting the battery in while its plugged in. It may turn on automatically.

If ur bootloader is unlocked, switch off the fon, connect the phone to computer by pressing both volume keys and connect the using data cable. Ur fon wil enter into download mode. So u can flash rom and all with odin.

I'm sorry but idk what odin is, i never came across that word when I was flashing roms......could u please post a link with the tutorial? thx!

simply to say, Odin is like PC version of recovery...
some other model like Galaxy Ace flash via that.
i know it on Galaxy Ace but not Nexus S....
you should try google it...

Every time i reboot my phone it will tell u to choose your country and then after setting up like my first time using the phone ,the data in the phone was deleted whether internal or external memory .ITS EVERYTIME and my phone shut down automatically sometimes.What should i do?The phone version is 2.3.4 and has been rooted.:crying:

[Q] infused rom help email forces closing...

i did this on my infuse gingerbread (rooted) and once downloaded i cannot finish the setup process because email process force close's as soon as its time to use my email. what should i do?

Be sure that you follow the 4 main steps before you flash any ROM or PORT for a good flash:
On CWM (Recovery Mode screen blue or red)
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe Cache partition
3. Advanced>Clean dalvik cache
After this steps flash your rom then:
4. Advanced/Fix Permisions.
It works for me all times.

How will I flash then if I remove all my data including root. Everything I wipe to factory it goes back to froyo non root. Do I keep recovery for the flashing somehow? And during the whole setup like connecting to Wi-Fi it's clean works goods no lag then email force closes there has to be a reason other than me not wiping to factory.. isn't that the point of these kind of apps.. why download it if I'm gonna spend the next 4hrs trying figure out.... I'm just gonna stop here with root. The rest of it is way!!!!!!! To much lol. You guys have at it tho!!

OK but I bet u get confused and quit lol. OK I'm on gingerbread. 2.3.6 rooted blah blah blah. Lol OK now once I do the infused download threw rom manager I get to the point were it's time to put in my email and it pops up email.process failed to start force close or something to that nature. Anyway after trying this one and Ics I now have a new bootanimation which was the point of the whole deal. Lol it's a suck one but hey!!

Why are you using Rom manager? I've only heard of bricks and problems from people using it...just download a Rom you want from xda, then boot into cwm and flash from cwm recovery by following instructions from the roms thread on xda
You may also just wanna try going back to stock through Odin/heimdal to fix your email problems if you don't wanna flash a Rom
Also what is the ics download your referring to? There are multiple ice roms/ports...you need to be as specific as possible on anything and everything...I always say better more than not enough
Also...just to clarify when you are in cwm and you wipe data/factory resetit only wipes your apps and system data...recovery is in the kernel which is not wiped...so if you follow the instructions of the roms op and do all the wipes then you can still flash

PS...bigjoe knows what he's doing as do a lot of us here...I don't think most of us,are gonna get confused and quit...as for me I love solving problems and trouble shooting so I know I won't quit

Lol...ics/ice cream sandwhich is a version of android just like ginger bread is and froyo also is-just wanted to know the name of the Rom...like cm9 or uniporn or miui etc...
But yeah download a Rom from this site and assuming you have cwm recovery boot into it (hold power plus volume up+down, as soon as it turns off and the Samsung logo pops up release the buttons) then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache, then install from sdcard, locate Rom and flash it.

Everyone should be directed to do I via PC not rom manager that's where a big problem is.I'm running cyogen mod something like that it a bit laggy even set on 1600 over clock speed . But in able to use baclite to instantly change boot animations.love love love my phone!!!

Problem with networks select!

Hey guys how going all... I got a problem at My Infuse from two or three days ago... I made a backup of my ROM on CWM... When I finished, and was turned on my cel again it taked a long time (More than 3 hours) to get the network... Now when I restart it, do the same... I need to wait these time arround 2 or 3 hours to use it (to call, use internet, etc)... Whats the matter? Help Me please... And sorry for my English I'm Dominican... If U can answer in Spanish will be great!!!

try this: delete the backup, it is causing a problem
You said you made backup with CWM,did you use Rom Manager? If so, that is most likely the problem, Rom Manager does not play well with the Infuse.
Wipe data, cache, and dalvik - reboot.
Should be good to go.

First, try flashing a new modem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508353 If that does not work go to system settings > Backup and Reset and do a factory reset.

Copy modem to your phone (internal sd) reboot into recovery and flash. Reboot.

Hey Bro I'm sorry for the delay ... All parameters of the APN are well ... I already tried changing the modem and nothing ... I tried returning the phone as it came from the factory and nothing ... And now I realized what I explain in the image ... The phone does not pick up signal but if the operator enters the system appear even me TOOLS KIT SIM ... Anything else I can do???

I am having nonrooted Fit GT-S5670 from india
I am on stock rom 2.3.6 latest for india.
My Fit status bar swipe down not working. And also menu button not working.
Tried to flash roms through odin 2 to 3 times. Done wipe data, catche, factory reset. But not benefit.
Help me out.

Done Factory reset few times. Even Flashed stock rom 2.3.6. But no benefit.
But thanks for advice. Many have viewed this topic but just you answered. :good:

I guess u should give a try to Froyo first. & if everything becomes fine then u can flash Gingerbread as usual.
I can't say about menu/back button coz others have also reported the same issue but without any proper fix.
