Hi!
Does anybody know when the regular version of this phone (without any Vodafone involvement) is going to be released? The only specific date I was able to find was on Amazon UK - June 15th (http://www.amazon.co.uk/HTC-Sensati...SJ78/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306684121&sr=8-1)
We all know their dates are often just guesses - should I hope for a June 15th release or am I possibly going to wait much longer?
its also quoted 15 june here
http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/n443/p107027.aspx
Let's hope it is true, then
Handtec and clove report 27th June. As they are main distributors and usually get the phone first, I would say 15th would be unlikely.

What in front of a huge online retailer like Amazon?

Handtec and clove. Check htcs website for their main distributors. Funny that amazon do not appear in that list! Amazon usually have stock a few day after the main HTC partners.

I was in Carphone Warehouse today, and they reckoned they would have the handsets in next week...
I don't know about EU, but Tmobile US will give you the unlock code for free. Just call them up say you travel alot or threatened em

Its pretty much the same in any tech based shop I've been in.
Photographic, Computing, Phones, a vast majority (chains especially) tend to go for the cheap spotty oik who knows nothing about their industry, let alone their stock.
I have noticed in the past that sellers in stores like Carphone Warehouse do not actually know the fact. CPW website says that the SIMFREE, unbranded Sensation will be available in July 2011. See the link:

HTC Malaysia launches the phone (unlocked, unbranded) today. I'm getting mine in about 13 hours from now. Exciting.
Amazon has just changed the estimates for the release date from 15th of June to 29th of June
Vodaphone Sensation appears to be unlocked!
I have just acquired an HTC Sensation, bought from a friend who had an upgrade and didn't want it. I put an O2 sim it and it seems to work perfectly, image attached.
HI Guys
I got htc sensation (swisscom) branded and it is unlocked. I can see only swisscom logo but i can use every simcard. i want get to know when htc sending any updates in coming future, will my sensation receive with non-branded devices or I have to wait till swisscom send any updates? thanks

Damn you
This whole one month Vodafone-exclusivity deal is very annoying, I really can't believe this was a wise decision by HTC as the Galaxy S2 is a very strong contender that has been freely available from the first day.
I will, of course wait this final month - but still, I probably wouldn't have even considered (and ordered, then returned) the Galaxy S2 if the Sensation had been released in may.
release date june 15 in usa

Is there a s4 version released/releasing that is equivalent to what at&t is getting? basically i can afford to buy one outright and don't want to wait until at&t let us have it. has anyone heard?
p.s. and i mean one that still uses lte, ect. no downsides.
I believe sprint's evo one is the one your asking about

There is supposed to an International release of the One XL for the Hong Kong and a few other markets. Not sure if the relese date will be prior to AT&T.

I have a buddy who was suppose to get the AT&T XL already. It was scheduled to ship last week but has not yet.
I hope it's not a sign of delays...
ATT release date
I stopped by the ATT store Yesterday and they told me they didn't know when they were getting the phone. They did say it would not be out before the 8th of April.
ok, so now there is news that rogers is bringing the phone in coming weeks. two questions though:
will it connect to all of at&ts radio bands?
if i buyout the phone, will it be unlocked?
also, probably a mistake, but the informing page says rogers is 32gb. i know the u.s. has 16, what is the chances that stat is not a mistake?
I am hanging to upgrade my Desire HD to one of these, but am getting very impatient.
Anyone heard any rumors in Australia?

haven't heard about telstra but optus says it's coming as soon as the 4th. grain of salt of course but i'd say no later than the 10th next month for you. it also looks like your getting the x not the xl, so you could import the already released x from somewhere else. i'd also talk to the x forums.
That april 4 date was for the X model.
Telstra will be getting the XL and S model.
Telstra have had a pre-register (to get info first) page up for about a month, but it was stopped just the other day.
The only logical reason for taking it down as far as i can see is if it coming out shortly.
So I'd say we will see it soon.
I would imagine somewhere between now and the end of May at the latest.
With the Raider/Vivid/Velocity 4G AT&T was the last to get the phone, seeing as how votecow is guessing the launch of the AT&T One XL to be around mid-May, I would guess that you could expect to see the One XL on Telstra around the end of April.

Thanks for the input guys. I got impatient and have gone back to optus for a One X
I've seen a rumour that wasn't denied on the Telstra Crowdsource forum that suggests the One XL will launch on April 24 at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Now that there's a launch date for the SIII (4 May), I'm going to cool my heels until I see the specs on that one rather than just fly into the One XL...
Tim
Have heard 24 April as a possible release for the XL on Telstra...
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have lifted a nearly month long blockade of HTC’s two newest smartphones, the One X and the Evo 4G LTE.
“HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling,” the Chinese phone maker told Wired in an email. “Future shipments should continue to enter the U.S. and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products.”
Tom Harlin, an HTC spokesman, said the company wasn’t sure how long it would take to get its phones from Customs to retailers and carriers. But the company is working on getting the new phones on store shelves as soon as possible.
Customs officials enforced the blockade at the request of the U.S. International Trade Commission, which ruled in December that some HTC smartphones running Google’s Android operating system violated a 1996 Apple patent on a data-detecting function found in nearly all modern handsets.
The patent — U.S. patent number 5,946,647 — covered a method to automatically convert phone numbers and URLs in e-mails and text messages into live links that directly open other apps, such as a phone dialer or web browser.
Before the blockade went into effect, HTC said it had fixed the way it deals with links to computer-generated data so as to avoid infringing on the Apple patent. But the blockade went into place anyway since Customs officials had to inspect the new phones to make sure they were clear of the ITC’s ruling.
The Customs review, which went into effect on Aprril 19, resulted in the Evo 4G LTE missing its May 18 retail debut through Sprint, and a shortage of One X handsets reaching AT&T.
Last week, Customs officials approved some, but not all, of the blocked phones for sale. Now, as of Tuesday, all of the handsets are in the clear.

Can't be done since Verizon is a CDMA carrier and the X+ is for GSM carriers. However, just today, the HTC Droid DNA/Droid DLX just passed through the FCC today. The DNA, btw, is the Verizon version of the HTC J Butterfly that was recentely released in Japan. That is the closest your going to get to the X+, unfortunately.
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G
It's only available on ATT in the states. You should be able to buy a unlocked international version and put a Verizon sim card in it but you'll never be able to use LTE due to the different network bands.

I would take the Droid DNA anyday, over the HOX+

So would I but no device is worth switching carriers for me with the deal i have locked in with ATT from years back. Any word if this Droid DNA will be out for ATT this year? If so would get this hands down over the HOX+ anyday!!! 2gb ram, s4 pro quad, sd slot, real no brainer, lol! If it won't be available for ATT and Verizon/T-mobile only then i'll have to go with the HOX+ by default.
No, it won't be coming to ATT, the droids always go to Verizon as their exclusive phones

Damn that's sad but overall i believe Verizon is superior to ATT. Just in my entire area ATT is the leader and would have to pay an easy $60 more a month to have the same exact plan as i do now on ATT and that's with my friend working for Verizon helping! Just not worth it for me personally.
The HOX+ sure isn't a bad device and still looking forward to it but damn when will it be out for us???

Next year there will be a new phone that HTC will release that should be better than the HOX+ on ATT. HTC still need to make a S4 pro gsm phone for the masses like the HOX
