Laggy after ota update

Twitter is all abuzz saying the mt4g is laggy after a OTA update. Mine seems to be running fine.. can anyone else confirm of deny these reports? Thanks and aloha from Hawaii

I'm almost sure you're poting this in the wrong section, but anyway.... My phone seems to be fine after the update. Tell you the truth I'm even getting a better Quadrant score after I got it.

My phone won't even update. I have the notification in my pull down but when I click on it, it doesn't do anything. Anyone else getting this?

No OTA update for me yet; T-Mo customer care was clueless about this one as well. Do you guys know the phone number code to pop into the dialer to "force" the phone to pull it?

Just got the OTA update and haven't noticed any weird lag.
The first major thing I noticed, it looks like its a 2.2 -> 2.2.1 upgrade. Not sure what else has changed/been fixed.

I'm getting a lot more lag since the update. And after restarting...
It's looking a lot smoother. Hopefully it stays like this!

I know it fixed the double bar in the browser. I dont know what else though.

Woohoo, got the update overnight, but no noticeable lag. I do feel like my data is faster for some reason.

still no update.. got my phone yesterday at around 11am. did the *#*#checkin#*#* and nothing. ideas?

no lag after the update here. it did upgrade to the latest version of android, from 2.2 to 2.2.1

got the update last night, no issues here though it seems to run smoother

I normally keep my phone with wifi on at home overnight, but because updates don't come through wifi (cell data only), I'd recommend leaving your wifi off and doing that checkin one more time.

A response about the update from SmartPhoneGeek @LG Forum

Finally got a response from LG mod SmartPhoneGeek at the LG Forum...such as it is.
One of the questions I asked.......How about a log of fixes? A statement of some sort?
"The upgrade will deliver Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is expected to provide some performance enhancements, addressing:
•Unexpected restarting
•Battery life
•Front-facing camera operation with Qik Record and Share
•Responsiveness of Car Home"

wifi is still not fixed.

You might have an issue with your phone. My Wi-Fi has never been broke.

Still getting the reboots and SOD- but I didnt do a clean install. I just updated.

This hasn't cured the phone getting hot while charging. It's burning up right now..

After reading *literally* every post about this update since I saw the announcement on TMONEWS I was expecting the worst..
The joke was on me!
The download, and install took all of 15 minutes and I didn't have a single adrenaline moment. My phone rebooted, it took a few minutes to get past the G2X screen and BANG! there it was! All my data, all my apps, I haven't finished playing yet but I can say, honestly, this was WAY TOO EASY..

One of the rare moments I wish I was unrooted. Not because I want stock or anything, just envious of the joy everyone is feeling who gets to update from stock.

Really?... I just said I don't want stock. My custom GB ROM is better than anything LG will put out. I was saying I'm envious of the joy the stock folks are feeling at being able to upgrade their stock build. Not what they are actually accomplishing, just the happiness they are feeling.

Considering this update is not meant for consumer consumption really, I'm sure they know it's a pos.
I was reading TMO news 15 minutes before this was dropped, left work and got home, fell asleep and when I woke I just checked at random and sure enough, there it was. Gonna stick with Ultimate rom till someone makes a custom rom based off the new stuff, hopefully we can port the camera app over from 2.2 maybe?

Do a quick reboot or try to go to recovery by vol dwn and power...mine went and factory reset when I was gonna flash back. No root no nandroid no nothing. Guess I'm gonna wait for a rooting method now. Cause this sucks. Would rather not have updated at all.

funny thing is, the tbolt was the flagship 4g device not to long ago. With the latest rom releases from liquid such as nonsense this thing will last me until next november when my upgrade is due and hopefully there will be some insane phones at that time. most recent radio for me at least has been stellar, now I can only hope that the new radios provide even better results.

Just got the update on stock tv. Seems a little smoother moving from screen to screen. I like so far.

My moms phone is s-off rooted but I odn't think i ever changed anything else, and I used revolutionary.
I'm being offered the new thunderbolt update but I also want to put her phone on cm7
I just wasn't sure if i allow it to upgrade without restoring to s-off I'll have a problem.

Should I allow update since it will update radio, and then turn over to CM7 or do you think I'll have some issues with it if I don't restore to original s-on and then go through revolutionary again and root.
Maybe I'll just wait for an RUU to pop up or the radio file to come online and then switch to cm-7.

New update received this afternoon (605.9)
Just received the latest update today on stock TB. Seems to run ok (so far), but the persistent voice mail icon and notification problem is back. This was a problem prior to last update. The icon and notification displays that you have a voice mail even though you don't and no way to get rid of them that I know of. Kind of a downer. Anyone else seeing this?

running great so far has not dropped 4g at all. but never did for me at home, i will report back on monday about work, 3g\4g switches all day there.. even a little 1x.

I flashed it yesterday, I can't say the speeds are any better but the transition between 3G and 4G is much better, I was in and out of 4G coverage last evening 4 or 5 times and it transitioned much better and before I would be sitting at my desk and look at my phone and it would be 4G then 3G and I would have to go to settings and refresh my network to get it back to 4G but since the new radio I have not had that issue. I can say that the battery seems to be lasting longer not having to look for signal near as much. I am very pleased.

Constant Data loss

Hi, i hope someone can help me but im running a Mytouch 4G slide with Cyanogen Alpha 5 with s-on and everything works great and has been for the past 2 days since purchased and rooted it, Today however i have been having constant data loss. What happens is on my signal bar i can see the H come and go come and go come and go for about 5-10 seconds intervals, when it comes, it immediately goes away and then comes back after about 5-10 seconds. I tried to do a factory reset and after losing everything i hoped it would fix it but it only fixed it for about 5 minutes then it continued doing the same exact thing as before but i have great signal reception. If anyone has any clue on how to fix this or maybe get a new Radio that fixes it, i would be more than glad to turn S-OFF as it is currently S-on. Thank you and i really appreciate all the hard work and help!

I'm having the exact same problem and have been running CM9, Alpha 5, S-ON since a few days after it was released with no problems at all. I didn't notice it until I got to work since I have wireless at home but have not had data all day. I called T-Mobile and they're not experiencing any outages in my area (Philadelphia) so that's out of the question. The only changes that have been made to this phone have been making sure to keep my apps updated.
I know this isn't an answer to your problem but you're not the only one having it. Hopefully, someone can provide some insight.

Note that I've had the same data issues on CM9 Alpha5 with two different devices. I was able to replicate the intermittent data issue on my sister's mt4gs. Her's was s-on. Then I s-off'd her phone using revolutionary and still had the data issues.
I reflashed back to stock 1.63 and data worked fine. Then I used JuopunutBear to s-off and flashed CM9 Alpha5. Data has been consistent and flawless on both devices ever since.

Changing the APN setting to internet2.voicestream.com worked for me but I'm still curious as to why after a month of running CM9 A5 with no problems, the data just dropped on me today.

I think this is nation wide and not just a rom problem a couple people I've talked to have been having data/signal problems all different phones.

Not necessarily, i think its just the Mytouch 4G slide running the cyanogen.. Im running an HTC Amaze with revolution ICS 3.6 sense s-on for over a month now and it has worked great no problems whatsoever... as for this Mytouch 4G slide, i still cannot get this problem fixed, they phone gets data back at times and then the problem hits it back just a couple hours later and it is very frustrating. I have also tried to fix it by doing the whole root process again and that only fixed it for 24 hours till the next day so thats out of the question as to answer post #2. I guess i will just have to wait and see for a new cyanogen update to come out for the Mytouch 4G slide.

(Q) HE Update

Just wondering if anyone else that was on the HD update have not got the new HE update... Ive been checking since it came out and my wifes phone got the HE update but mine has yet to get it? It keeps telling me that theres no new update..

Updates are sent out in segments, not everyone gets them at the same time and can take a few weeks or more to get to everyone.

I had a problem getting the updates. I had to go back to factory and wait at least a day and a half before I got the update. So, if you been rooted before it migt just take a day or so before you get it. I hope this make sense.

Yeah i was rooted, but i odin back to stock hd build and its been like 4 days and nothing yet .... wifes phone got it on the 17th and yet here i am with the hd build!!! lol
