[Q] Can't see the links in my yahoo emails - HTC One S

Hi Guys,
Just got my One S yesterday. Came from a G2X.
I'm having a problem seeing links in my emails. Only the URL is showing in my emails from Ebay.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Goto email settings -> Sync, send and receive -> mail size limit. Select any option of 25 kb or higher. Your new emails should have proper links.
By default, the email app gets text only and not html thats why you don't see links.

Yep! That must have been it. I'd actually changed that to maximum, but it apparently doesn't apply it to old emails. Didn't see the links 'til I checked emails this morning. But that must have been it.
Thanks!

Email question

Hi folks
finally got my xda orbit the other day - lving it so far - and have managed to get the email sorted out. I sent myself a few test emails last night but upon receiving a new email it seems to delete the previous one(s). My question - to the more experienced users out there - is this: is there a setting or something I can do on the xda so doesn't delete previous emails when a new one comes through?
I apologise if I asked something already chatted about but I've been trying to find out about this problem all day.
Thanks in advance for any help!
When you set up a mail account, you get to choose how many days worth of email you want to download; if you chose "Today" then that probably explains why last night's test messages got deleted when you sent yourself new mail today........
You can change this behaviour, but be careful how much you choose to keep unless you've got a storage card!!
Go to the email Inbox, select Menu | Tools | Options, then tap on the required email account; tap Next five times until you get to a screen with "Automatic Send/Receive" and "Download messages" on - the bottom box shows how many days worth of email you're currently storing....change it to whatever your heart desires, hit Next and then Finish
Hope that helps,
Mark.
Heh - that may have been it, but I was getting (last night anyway) emails and then immeddiately (as in seconds later) I was sending a second one and the previously received one vanished. I've set it so that it downloads ALL messages - not sure if I should have it set for entire message or just headers yet...I'll see how that goes. I do have a storage card though so i'd certainly save messages to that - maybe (not sure if I can do this) I can create a folder on it and direct messages to get moved/saved there? No idea how that's done though
But thanks for the help - if you have any other tips let me know...I love this xda Going to look for mods for it...apparently there's some nice HTC themed ones out there
EDIT* This is annoying me a bit now...I just did a fresh check for emails (had 2 I received not 5 mins ago), there weren't any new ones but now those previous 2 have disappeared from my inbox list - what is going on with this thing? I can't keep losing these emails.

[Q] New EMail problem

After searching google and the local forum search I've seen no other instances of this. My apologies if it's been discussed. I'm running Android 2.3.1 with kernel 2.6.35.7-g7f1638a. I'm using the default EMail app to access a private email server. So the inbox loads the 25 most recent messages. So far so good. But when I delete some it then redownloads the older messages and reflags them as new. I'm constantly being told I have new emails because it's flagging old ones as new after it reloads them. I have not seen any option to change the number of emails it loads or anything else that might work around this. Has anyone else noticed similar behavior?

Could be an email server end problem. Should be set to mark messages retrieved by pop as read. It sounds like it's not, so every time your phone asks for new messages, the server serves them up again.
There might be an advanced setting on the email app's preferences or setup that can address this...look for something about leaving messages on server unread or similar.
I'm not currently using anything but gmail app, so can't double check on my own phone to give you clearer advice.

[Q] No "read" mails in Android

All, I dont see my read emails but only unread emails are available.
I just bought an Acer A500 with 3.1 and got also a Nexus S with 2.3 and both have the same issue.
I looked everywhere for the option to have both meaning read and unread mails but only unread is download.
I am using a standard gmail account and all get download properly on my iPhone and also available directly on gmail.com .
Is there a trick to get read emails ?
Tks in advance for your answer/support.
Sam
There should be an option where you can choose what mails to download/keep in your local inbox. Unfortunatly my droid is in the rooting process (sort of taking a while) so I can't check it out, but there is an option.
Search the Optionsmenu for something download mails and check download all...
Ah damn, can't remember where

Email related problem

Whenever I reply an email from my phone. Instead of showing the correct sender's email in a quote, It shows a bunch of code. These code display both on the the phone (sent items) and on Gmail web page.
My question are what is causing the problem and how to solve it?
Thank you very much
Enclosed some desmonstration.
Whoa... I've enver seen that before, sorry.
A few questions that might be relevant:
What language is the phone configured to use?
Is the email being sent directly to your Gmail account, or are you forwarding it from another server (and if so, which)?
Did you configure the Gmail account using the Google account template on the phone, or did you set it up as just an IMAP or POP3 email server?
What OS version is on your phone? (There has been at elast one update regarding original message body handling.)
The phone doesn't usually modify the original message at all (something some people have complained about, actually) so this is really weird. On my Gmail account, I've never seen anything like that.
Thanks for replying
The phone is an HTC Radar with HD2O's Dynamics7 1.21 - build is 8779
Language is en-UK
I'm pretty sure it's not about the ROM because I've encountered this problem on stock Mango ROM.
Mail arrives as usual and I reply by pressing Reply button.
It's a mailbox configured by adding Google Account, not manually configured.
I think the problem is on text encoding but don't know how to solve it yet

Stop this forum from sending gmail to me

Hi...how can I prevent this forum from sending me email? Every time someone quotes one of my posts, gmail receives an email. I have turned off all email notifications in the settings for this website. If I set gmail to not notify me then I receive NO notifications on my phone that my gmail inbox has received an email...obviously I don't want that...since friends email me etc. I thought it might be a Chrome thing...but I have set everything there to never notify me of anything.
The only way I can stop this forum from emailing me when someone quotes my post is to disable notifications in gmail...since I can't handpick websites I don't want to receive email from...that just cancels ALL notifications as I said before.
By the way, I am NOT 'subscribing' to any threads either...so that's not the problem.
So what am I doing wrong?
thanks
Have you tried this:
1 - Click on Settings on the top right, next to your username.
2 - From the options on the left, choose the last one titled "Settings" under "Mention System"
3 - Check the last option, titled "Quote Emails" which has the description "Check this box if you do not wish to receive an email whenever you are quoted in a post."
4 - Save changes
Should work. Else, use filters in gmail to auto delete such emails...
Wow thanks a lot
'Mentions'...the only thing I didn't check. That'll teach me!
