Hi everybody.
I'm beginner with Android. I have NAS with photos, music, movies accesible with smb protocol. Friend recommend me ES File explorer to access files from my GT-6200, i´m able to play almost eveything, but i´m missing possibility to play images stored in folder as a slideshow, or play content of a folder with audio files.
Can some one help me, howto do this ?
Thank you

Hi all,
I'm trying to create or to copy my playlist from the computer to my Magician, but I couldn't! I don't know how to do it.
If I copy the .WPL from my PC to Magician, it doesn't open. When I'm using the Pocket Microsoft Media Player 10, my library have a lists of Playlists, but it's always empty and I don't know how to create one.
Can anyone help me please?
The playlists hold a definitive list of where a file is stored. If you have the stuff in "my music" then the files will be in c:\Documents And Settins\ (Username)\My Documents\My Music, and as such all files in the playlist will be listed in this location, and as this location does not exist in the device, it cannot find the files. You also need to copy the actual music files across, not just the wma files (Music files are mp3, wma, etc.)
If you want to use the device as an MP3 player, you should really get a storage card to store the music on.

I think you got me wrong. I already have a Storage Card and about 100 WMA files. The Library on MP is OK, but I have no Customized Playlists. That's what I want.
Got it?
Thanks!
Ok as to making playlists in Pocket Windows Media Player, i have no idea. i just had a look at my universal and i cant see the option.
Hoiwever, in the program that i use instead of WMP (Pocket music from pocketmind.com), you can make, view and edit playlist easily, plus it has a nice today screen plugin.
so one can not make new playlists in windows media player
The Pocket PC version of Windows Media Player does not allow you to create or edit playlists. But there is a freeware program for it!

Hi everyone!
I used to use Gallery Enabler (later renamed into Media Hidden) to exclude folders from SD media scanning, but I seem can't find the app on Market anymore. Could anyone please post a download link to the app?
More information about the app can be found here:

Thanks indeed!
You could try Pandora or Private Media as well. In my opinion pandora is better as it lets you play files without restoring them to their original location.
Otherwise a very simple way of hiding a folder from gallery is to insert a .nomedia file in the folder. Creating a .nomedia file is easy. Just open a text editor & save a blank file with the name ".nomedia".
Hope this helps.

Wicked!! Learn something new every day! I've been wondering if that was possible
You can also try Hide it Pro application. It can do all sorts of hiding like photos, videos, audio, application
I would like to hide certain folders from some applications but not others. In particular I would like to hide my podcasts from my mp3 player but not my podcast player.
Can this be done?
I get a lot of video clips sent to me through Whatsapp ( a messenger type application). Since a lot of my friends are on iPhones, the video files are in .mov format.
I can easily see and play these files if I go to them directly in the storage folder of the Whatsapp application. HOWEVER the video files do not show up in the video tab of the HTC Gallery app, ie it doesnt recognise .mov as video files.
Any solution, eg to register .mov as a gllery video file, etc or anything else?
Thanks!
rename them to *.mp4 then they play in Gallery
.mo. files

Renaming works to show in your gallery but there is no audio unless I play it thru another app. And when I try to edit it says format not supported
HTC m8
Vivo album not showing mp4. In gallery help me .. Thanks you.
Motivation: I am creating a more organized folder structure on my phone (LG Quantum) and am using the hack that allows the phone to be seen as a USB storage device.
1. I copy all the JPG and MP4 files from the phone to my computer.
2. I use exiftool to organize the files into folders by date and rename the files with more informative date-related names.
3. I then recopy the directory structure on the computer onto the phone.
It works very nicely for the JPG files. However, the MP4 files, that were originally created on the phone, only show up as video files with black thumbnails, and these files do not play.
If I use Zune to sync them, they go into the Video folder and DO PLAY on the phone. However, I do not want them in the Video folder. I want them in the structured directories in the "Pictures" folder that I made (I want pictures and videos in the same folders by date).
I can copy the files in the phones Video folder to the Pictures directory structure I created on the phone, but a bunch of black thumbnails are left in the Video folder that don't play, making it very inconvenient (since I only want music videos or movies in the Videos folder).
Does anyone know why MP4 files created by the phone will not play when copied to the computer and then back to the phone via USB?
Is this a bug? Any hacks to fix?
Thank you.
Well, kind of 3 months ago I discovered that my lyrics app (Lyrics Grabber) didn't find my music anymore, and magically it did find other audio files (Recordings, Ringtones, Attachments from Any.do, Whatsapp Audios). So I noticed that the "Music" folder is being ignored by the app; all other folders are found. And it's exactly the same with musixmatch, shuttle, nexmusic and google play music. So I assume that it happens to all the music players but... poweramp. It's pretty weird but it's so. The only music player that finds my music is poweramp. It may be because poweramp has an option to manually choose which folder are gonna be scanned but I don't know what's going on with it. Any ideas?
Note: I'm 16, and I'm learning to speak English by myself, so if I made a mistake or you didn't get what I'm trying to say, plz tell me and I'll try to explain it better

do you have file named
.nomedia
in the music folder?
You can check with ES File Explorer (or some other file explorer) BUT you need to enable viewing hidden files.
If there is the file .nomedia in the music folder - delete it.
The purpose of .nomedia is to exclude for example system folders from Gallery and music players checks.
it didn't work…
