Well, imagine that i have that card but it seems to be dead or so, when i use an adapter and put it into my laptop's card reader, or i use the USB card adapter i cannot get the card shown in windows explorer of my Win 7 x64.
When i go to Computer Management > Disk Management, the card is not shown on the top window, but on the bottom one, it is shown, but when i right click on it there is nothing i can do except of changing drive letter.
Any ways of reanimating, reformatting the card? I do not care about the data in it, i want the card to be usable. Thanks
Anyone?
you need a update please check your windows update there is ad update for support of sd up 32 GB
Well, the card is 64 GB, not up to 32.
What i mean that this card used to work before, i could transfer files to it, but then after a month i cannot access it

I flashed my Wallaby with this SD-Card according to the instructions given in the Wiki. I formatted the SD-Card then with the Wallaby and again on the PC (both FAT and FAT32). It works perfectly on the PC (Notebook Samsung Q25 embedded card reader), but does not do so on the Wallaby: The device does recognizes something (PHMTools AutoPlay recognizes it when I remove and add the SD Card), but the explorer/TotalCommander does not see it. I have tried Pocket Mechanic, but it does not see it either.
Interestingly, when I connect the SD Card to my Laptop using an external card reader (Datalux DLX-1614), it the SD Card does not work either: When I try to format it with the Windows XP software, it states the card has 800 MB (!) and does not provide any possibility to format it.
I think the SD card is "somehow" formatted so that the sophisticated Samsung Cardreader recognizes it, but the others do not. I need a good formatting program for Windows XP which solves the problem and would be grateful for any recommendation.
Has anybody ever had a similar problem?
Thank you very much in advance.
Michael
Hey everyone,
I have a 1gb micro sd card. It apparently has bad blocks and cannot be recognized by my 8525 (WM6.1), vista pc or xp sp2 pc. I have the programs to recover the info on it, but none of these programs are effective because the card doesn't show up as a drive.
I am attempting to access the card directly from the phone. With the pc's I have an usb adapter that I know works because I use it for my 8gb micro sd card to swap information.
Can some one give me an answer on how to either fix the bad blocks or make the card recognizable by the ppc or pc's? The recovery programs I have say they will get info off a formated card, but I can't format what the phone or pc's doesn't recognize.
Thanks.
which apps did you try?
if if i'm not mistaken i managed to recover a card using Active Recovery 7
The easiest way for me was, plug your card back to where it gave you a bad blocks, and it should be readable, then backup your datas there,.
this is what i did to my 2GB miniSD for Olympus e520 SLR Camera (the camera lost now),.
I plug it in to my friend laptop, then it cant be readable by any device, then i plug it again, and its readable, then i back it up, then i leave the miniSD,.
Hey G, Thanks for the reply. The card went bad in a digital camera. So I should place the microsd card in the camera, use the usb cord to connect to the pc, remove the usb cord once the card doesn't read, then reconnect the usb cord?

It also happens when i put music on there some times. What do i need to do to get this to work?
Have you tried it with a card reader already?

Hmmm...officially your phone is supposed to support upto 32GB. What does the error message read again? How are you trying to transfer media from your desktop to your phone? What happens if you were to pop your memory card onto your computer and directly put stuff onto it?
I got the same error on my new card today as well. However, if I transfer directly from PC into the phone via activesync, the phone recognizes the card and works ok. It is only when trying to transfer from the PC to the card via a card reader that it does not work and gives the error. I suspect that the adapter I have is for a MicroSD card, not a MicroSDHC, and that might be what is causing the error, or that the card reader built into my computer cannot work with the SDHC format, only the normal low density format. Of course, this is just a guess, since I can transfer via activesync all is OK.
I have my internal 16 gb all filled up about 95% and I bought a micro sd card which arrived today.
I began transferring media to the micro sd card under /removable/microsd/ and was able to transfer about 1gb so far of the possible 16gb.
i noticed when i would start a file transfer, i would get a pop up message saying the file "may be copied to the device for storage or transport use only. it is not supported for use on the device itself. if possible, use a media program that can convert the file before copying it. if you copy the file now, it will be stored on the device, but may not be presented in the device user interface."
however, i would get an error after saying theres not enough free space on the device when i began transferring my media.
wtf is going on and how do i transfer my media to the micro sd?
plug it into your PC and copy it to your PC then to microSD
yes, my tablet is hooked up to my pc. that is wherein lies the error messages i'm getting.
so it looks like when i cleared my micro sd and my internals and tried again it worked.
1) first i loaded my media onto the micro sd first
2) then i was able to transfer media to my internal storage
i find this strange because i was having errors loading to the micro sd card after my internal storage was filled up.
Where did you bought the microSDHC card? Did you tested it to full capacity and see if it's genuine?

I also get a message when trying to copy files to the microSDHC card (inserted in the TF) from the PC, but I just click to continue and they copy just fine.
yeah its real. transcend 16gb micro sdhc class 6 straight from amazon.
before i just bypass the message notification (hence loading about 2gb of media onto my micro sd).
when i tried to transfer more, i would get an error saying my storage was full. seems to be fluky.
I have a 16gb micro sd card, worked fine, i formatted it to fat32 while it was in a phone that was connected to windows vista laptop. then when i took it out and put it in phone it wasnt recognised, so i put it in my friends android phone and it says it needs formatting, i click format but nothing happened, i put it into a computer it comes up as a removable disk saying please insert disk, when i go to manage on the computer and find it, only thing i can do is change the letter, and its coming up as 0 bytes. Any ideas?
Somebody must have an idea?
Try to format it under Linux.
If that does not work either, RMA it or throw it into the dustbin if out of warranty.
i only have a phone to put it in, i dont have a sd card reader, and when i put it in my n900 it doesnt come up under linux.
Shrug; SD card reader is given out for free with many SD cards... or borrow one from someone?
I have a sd card reader just not a slot for a micro sd, but surely if it doesnt come up on my n900 running linux then it wont with a card reader?

What slot? There are USB adapters, and there are miniSD/microSD to SD adapters for normal card readers (again, this is normally part of the package when you buy the SD card, where the hell did you get yours to get nothing of this?).
Do NOT try this via another phone, it simply is not useful. If the phone does not recognize the card, there is nothing for the PC to do. Phone attached via USB is NOT a card reader, it acts as a mass storage device.
Im trying a friends card reader tomoz but i dont have huge hopes.
